Review Fresh Tandoori Flavour Indian Bistro - Royal Oak - Victoria

It was my first time eating here. I had higher expectations due to the restaurant's name. A good background story on the menu was interesting. The food was well-presented, but the flavors and spices weren't very robust. My favorite dishes, eggplant bharta and veggie korma, were underrated. The sauce lacked creaminess, and everything was excessively greasy. The naan bread was drenched in oil. However, their excellent customer service made up for these shortcomings.

We landed this morning here in Victoria and were very hungry. Initially we were looking to get some breakfast from Tim’s however we saw Tandoori Flames and went there. We tried buffet here and ordered Chholle Bhature. The service was very good and girls were very nice. We enjoyed our food.

Best Indian food in town ..always fresh and tasty. Friendly staff make you feel at Home. Treat yourself and you will be back often.

Absolutely love the takeout feature of buffet. Standard staples, like butter, chicken, rice, pankora Additional menu options available throughout the week. Also available as gluten free and vegan. Excellent portion size for price. Service is fabulous, friendly and go above and beyond.

This place has delicious curries, flavorful and spiced just right. The samosas are perfectly seasoned and delicious. I would recommend trying them out sooner than later.

Very very delicious Indian food. I have been a regular customer for the past two years and I am always pleased with my choices. The service is very friendly and prompt. I have also experienced their other restaurants in Oak Bay and Sidney. The same goes for these other centers. Thank God we have these excellent restaurants to enjoy.

We have been looking for a place when food is good and you can eat and enjoy peace and quiet. Well we found most of it, the only thing is food is not good. It’s great ! It’s a must try if you like great food !

Went on a Friday night. We were looking for a casual upscale meal and this place seemed to fit the ticket. Our waitress was fantastic. A+ service all the way... This restaurant may look like your average neighborhood restaurant , but Fresh tandoori flaviur Indian bistro was is anything but avarage. Went there yesterday night, the services are good. And the food are awesome. It’s my first time eating Indian food and this restaurant absolutely gave me a perfect impression. Will be back there for sure.

The food was great but as they were closing in 45 minutes after we got there didn’t get a chance to explore the whole menu but what we ordered came really quick and was good.

Walked in for for lunch. Was pleasantly surprised. Loved the easy buffet spread. Food was fresh & delicious. Lots of options. Well staffed and clean. Definitely a great place for lunch

Tandoori Flame is clearly pushing the boundaries of Indian cuisine into new and sophisticated areas with diverse and novel approaches to classical recipes… this is very good food at any price. The food is absolutely wonderful, from preparation to presentation, very pleasing. This is one of my favourite Indian restaurant in Victoria..as the ambience of this restaurant is just perfect .. one can have a great time there .. i would love to go again there ..and I highly recommend this to all❤😊 Enjoy✋

First off, I will say that the food is excellent and I have been very quick to recommend this place to others looking for tasty Indian food. However, the problem we are finding is the inconsistencies when we order. We have been three times for take out and the chilli panneer has been ordered each time (which is an amazing dish!). The first time, we ordered it as mild and the spice heat was perfect, it had heat but not overwhelmingly so. The second time, ordered it the same way and zero heat. Ordered tonight again but as medium and again no heat at all. Very disappointing. Also, the chilli paneer on the menu posted at the door and on the website has the chilli paneer listed under vegetarian specialties and says that it comes with rice however upon ordering, we were told no rice and it's an appetizer only (which matches their Facebook menu). Which menu are we supposed to use?!? Last time we were in, we were given rice and naan bread included. With tonight's order, I inquired to see if we would get both again. I was told no but then a woman came by and said they would do that as it was done last time. When it came time to pick it up, I commented on how busy it was and the same woman who agreed to rice and naan said it's good to be busy but she does like to be able to make sure people are happy. As they were packing our order, I noticed there was no naan bread and asked saying that she had agreed to it. She then said no, that I hadn't ordered it so no. I said again that last time we were given both (in accordance with a previous menu that was online). She then argued with me that I did not get naan bread last time - as if she knew what I had ordered and then said that we would have paid for it. We didn't. I was calmly trying to explain the menu discrepancies to her and she argued this point and then simply walked away from me. It's especially confusing given her earlier statement that she wants to ensure customers are happy. Walking away and not listening to customers does not make them happy. I was just about to order the bread separately (as it is delicious!) but was not impressed by how she spoke to me so left. I would recommend they have a look at the menus they have put out online and figure things out. Consistency would be great so customers can know what they order without getting argued with by staff.

Ordered take out and the staff was very friendly. They didn't have a dish I normally order so she offered to alter one of the dishes. Went outside to my car to wait and she even brought it out when it was ready! Food is also very tasty! Would recommend and will be back soon!

I was there week ago and I think it might have been the manager who i dealt with he was so RUDE! for me it is about the customer service more than the food so I will never be going back there no matter how good the food was. If your staff does not know how to deal with customers what is the point of having staff like that!

I find the food was really good when me and my friend went there for lunch.

Their Vindaloo chicken is absolutely delicious!!!!!!!! I'm looking forward to trying out their other dishes😊
