My husband and I came here as it was recommended and we absolutely loved it. Ate their steak and mushroom pot pie. It was to die for. Service was spot on, very please and happy we decided to go there. Highly recommended.
The service was excellent, very impressed with our server....my boyfriend and I ordered a glass of white wine along with pulled pork poutine, a very good choice for us both. It was so much food, both of us took a to-go container home. Cheers to the staff!!!
Great pub with great staff. Had the Yorkshire pudding mashed potatoes and beef. Healthy portions. Oh waa I full!
good food, friendly staff. talented too. bartender and waitress belted out some tunes !
Great fun atmosphere on Sunday night. Big portions for the pulled pork taco, very tasty and certainly will order again.
Great neighborhood pub... Good food, good atmosphere...
We loved it! I called in and placed our order, as I was taking my lunch break. Shortly after we arrived we served our lunch, not much longer the waitress was asking how our meals were and if our drinks needed topping up! Excellent service and friendly people!
We are definitely going back!
Our friendly neighborhood pub with tons of character and awesome staff!
It was excellent food and service and enjoyed my time there.
Went as part of a large group of about 12 people. We were able to make a reservation that same day (on a Tuesday). I only ordered the chicken bowl, no drinks. Had enough to take home for a second meal. Overall nice atmosphere, great place to socialize and catch up.
This place never fails to satisfy. They have a huge selection of great craft beers on tap. The food is great quality, well made, and the portions are more than enough. Prices are reasonable and the service is fast and friendly.
Good job, staff and managers of Christie's!
What a great find!! I loved my salmon burger with Avacado. Combined with their Caesar salad, it was a first class lunch. My wife's Club Sandwhich won her approval too!
Hadn't been to this place before, considering I used to work so close by. The place hadn't previously attracted me, just because of the location. There didn't seem to be too much parking, and rarely do I hear people talking about it.
So, it just never was a place I went to, until a few weeks ago.
Highlights:
Efficient service
Good food
So-so's:
Washroom
Parking
This is just my opinion, I just want to leave my experience.
Service is great, we got to sit by the bar, there was a lovely neighborhood atmosphere. The place was bigger than I thought, with a few dining areas that seem separated by the main entrance. Got there around 530pm on a Friday, which was good considering it wasn't super crazy busy, but the parking was almost full.
Got our orders in, we had good suggestions(the wings) for an appetizer. I had the Cajun pasta with shrimp and chorizo, which was surprisingly good. The sauce was creamy, and the sauce was not soaking in the pasta (I sort of prefer my pasta swimming in sauce though). For the price, I think I had 6 prawns, and a decent amount of chorizo. I was mainly concerned about the prawns, thankfully they were not overcooked and tender.
The husband got the burger with an apple chutney, which he usually doesn't go for, BUT he said it was actually really good. The food wasn't a long wait either, 15 minutes tops, and we hadn't even finished our chicken wing appetizer either. Which was the Kentucky Bourbon Hot- loved this flavour, will come back again for it! Had a slight kick which we both enjoyed. We do need to come back to sample the other menu items, which (from our experience with these menu items) sound really good.
Only noticeable notes for me (maybe I'm being unreasonable) is that the building *is* a heritage building, so other parts of it might not be updated. While I don't expect much to change, the carpet leading up to the upstairs bathroom might need some extra love, and the bathroom might need a little bit of an update. Otherwise tidy.
It is a lovely neighborhood pub, delicious food, great service. Beautiful character building.
After viewing an apartment on Friday last week I came on google Maps to find the nearest pub to the location I was in at the time.
Well Christie’s Carriage House Pub was it.
I am so glad it did.
I went on and was greeted by Amanda who then became my waitress.
She’s was fantastic.
I was hungry so I decided to have a look at the menu.
Since moving to the island the option of wild salmon 🍣 or Halibut burgers are on nearly all of the menus I’ve seen.
I went with the wild salmon burger with a side Caesar salad.
All I can say is OMG.What a fantastic meal/ piece of fish/ burger.
Not to mention how excellent the staff and Terry the bartender are.
So if you’re ever in the neighbourhood or just looking for a great spot to have a few beverages and a great meal do yourself a favour and pop in to Christie’s.
Tell them Dino sent you.
Cheers 🍻
The food is delicious. Especially the seafood chowder. The cheesecake trio has a very rock hard crust but it is so good once you actually get a piece of it
I have been coming here pretty regularly for 3 years and semi regularly for 23 years.
Great atmosphere, very good food and absolutely amazing staff.
I particularly enjoy the Clubhouse and the Halifax Donair with sweet sauce
Everyone goes above and beyond every time , especially when I pop in with my 6 year old daughter who likes to “twirl with my ballerina friend”
An amazing community, especially on Sunday kitchen party jam nights.
Thanks for all that you do!
The service on the south patio for our friend's wedding get together was excellent. Loved our waitress who looked after the whole patio on her own.
Wings were very over cooked but I didn't get charged for them. Calamari was amazing. Well done staff. Place was packed!
I went for the veggie burger. Way spicy. So the server swapped it for an excellent salmon burger. Lots of parking and good service.
Nice place if you're working at the hospital. Still think the beer selection is small.
Best poutine I’ve had in BC for a long time. I recommend the pulled pork poutine since the pulled pork had a note of sweetness in it that went very well with the gravy and cheese curds. We also ordered the shepherd’s pie which was also delicious. The price of the pulled pork poutine was great (14$) and I definitely recommend. The Shepard’s pie was a smaller portion and the price was more expensive for the portion size unfortunately. Overall the dishes tasted amazing!
Pulled pork tacos were good, a bit pricey, but it is a pub. Poutine with pulled pork was tasty but also overpriced for the portion. Cute establishment tho!
We haven't been to Christy's for a couple of years. The food and service was very good on this visit our server was friendly professional engaging and interested. For my wheat-free dairy-free option I had the cod tacos which were fantastic and filling. My friends had the donair poutine and the salmon burger. We enjoyed half a liter of wine between two of us and the donair enthusiast enjoyed an ice cold beer. Yes of course we had another round it was Friday after all. We sat inside all covid protocols in place it was a good night to be at Christy's pub.
Good food, good drinks. Service is charming, friendly, and fun. Cute and cozy patio is warm with heaters, and has fairy lights strung overhead. They seem to have a loyal regular crowd, but it is a great new spot to try if you’re looking for a fun place for Friday night drinks.
