Amazing restaurant! The food was absolutely wonderful from preparation to presentation. It’s been a while since I had a dosa , must say we were wowed. Great experience , will definitely recommend this place to everyone!!
FANTABULOUS...Exellent customer service and fantastic food. I always recommend my friends, my family and my colleagues to go Royal Spice if they have a craving for delicious Indian food.
Also as a Vegetarian I will recommend to try all Veg Tandoori dishes they serve.
I'm a Great fan of Royal Spice.
Best best best!!!Finally Victoria has a top notch Indian food place
Limited selection in buffet but great tasting food. The unlimited chai serving with buffet is a huge plus. Place is neat with great atmosphere.
Highly recommend! Best Indian food I've had in a long while, we'll be back for sure. Mussels were delish, goat was excellent, great butter chicken and perfect chai.
Fabulous Fresh Flavours, everything at this buffet is soooooo good. I highly recommend it
Great restaurant, nice atmosphere, great service and very tasty food, good size portions, we had lots to take home & have for another meal.
If you've never tried Masala Bites, which is currently closed for relocation, you should try Royal Spice. Chances are you'll be blown away like I have. If you've tried and love Masala Bites, folks, I'll say this place is even better. No surprise because you'll see the same familiar friendly faces from Masala Bites and likely the same chef. The place is a lot more spacious and parking is much easier in this new location than downtown. Well done, Royal Spice! We'll see you again soon!
Absolutely good, we're here for a 3 days stay at a adjacent hotel. We are hungry and looking for a good food to eat. And everyone agree to try & eat at Royal Spice. We all like it. And a great service too.
This evening's dining experience was exceptional right from being greeted at the door to being seated. The menu clearly identified Gluten Free dishes. Quality food ingredients, great atmosphere, comfy booths and friendly service all at a very reasonable price. Thank you Royal Spice on making my first visit memorable, wishing you continued success!
Delicious food, awesome atmosphere and friendly people!! Amazing Chole Bhature and very tasty Indian food !
I often come here with my wife.
We love food here.
And people who love Masala Dosa can come and have it here after 4:30pm. Cook makes awesome Masala Dosa.
We heard about Royal Spice when it was recommended to us by a great Indian restaurant in a Courteney; they said THEY drive down to Victoria to go to Royal Spice because it's THAT good. So right! Went this evening and it is fabulous. Highly recommend.
They were so accommodating, I came to buffet with only 12 minutes the food was abundant and warm and the staff was helpful making my day so much better!!! Thank you staff and team definitely coming back !!!!! Fair price good value high quality gluten free options. Thank you :-)
Stopped in for a quick lunch. Was not very hungry so opted for a “small” dish—samosa chaat. Was very pleasantly surprised by quite a large amount of food, which was tasty and quite inexpensive, so value was definitely there. Nice option to have near work!
Wow is all I can say. This is my favourite Indian restaurant on the island for many reasons. It is absolutely effing phenomenal both take out and dine in. The lunch buffet is such a good deal and of such quality, it genuinely makes me emotional. I love Royal Spice, I will be supporting them until the day I die. Place is clean and bright, staff are pleasant and friendly, and service again both take out and dine in is always accurate and fast. I can’t say enough good things about this place, great job guys.
Went to try it out for the first time for a friend's birthday dinner. Going in it is nothing spectacular and we were told to sit where we wanted. Once we were settled everything was fantastic. Our server was happy to explain dishes to us (extensive menu) and make suggestions. The server watched us from a distance to make sure our needs were met. The food was so good and large portions. Will certainly come back or do take out. The best
A pleasant surprise! Full flavours, full portions, and for a great price! Kids menu items are excellent - big and yet still unique with the butter chicken poutine and masala fries. My wife and I shared the pomegranate curry - plenty for us both (plus eating what the kids counted finish). Salad was also a large portion and very fresh with a hint of spice added. We were staying across the road at the hotel and gave this a try - will remember this place!
We dined here twice during our stay in Victoria. It's located about 3km from the city center, but it's worth the drive. Parking is available in the front. It can get quite busy as locals frequent this place for dine in and take out.
We ordered different curries with spice level "hot". There was a lunch buffet till 3:00 pm, but we ordered from the menu try different spice levels.
I have been to multiple Indian cultures restaurants and would recommend this place. A friendly greeting at the door. Waiter didn’t come around for about 10 minutes to take the order which was a little iffy but was polite and took our orders. Food came out relatively fast. Presentation of dishes were really cool. They had a cool Asian styled dish with a candle under my chicken curry dish which really improved the vibe of the food and restaurant itself. Food was priced quite fairly for what we got. Overall, nothing to crazy but a great place to stop at if you are feeling Indian food!
I'm in love for this restaurant. The food tastes amazing. My favorite plate is the Gobhi Garlic. They have amazing options of curry and bread.
If you are vegan go there.
The service was great. Our server was kind and patient as I fumbled on my words a number of times to order.
The food. THE FOOD! The food was fantastic.
We ordered Shahi Paneer, and Lamb Spinach Curry, both were presented over a candle holder to keep the food warm during the meal (love it!). Shahi Paneer has been my steady favourite for years, and Royal Spice made some of the BEST. The lamb spinach curry was also amazing, I was expecting to take most home (which usually happens) but it didn't make it that far, it ended up being eaten the fastest (I couldn't even get a picture before it was gone).
We also ordered Tandoori Chicken, which came out smoking and sizzling on a skillet, and it was really good too, I personally wasn't a fan of the way the pieces were cut which made it a bit awkward to eat, but that didn't stop it from being just as delicious as the other dishes.
We ordered Stuffed Choley Bhatura to go, and now I have to make sure I can afford to get that every time because it was SO GOOD and that was as a leftover! (The sauce was great cold too)
We ordered a medium heat level when asked, and I didn't find it any spicier than.. say.. "Nandos Peri Peri" sauce (in fact, the peri peri was likely spicier) with a slow heat that built slightly over time. Most other places on the island avoid adding any spicy flavours when I order more than "mild" (though it's understandable why), so I'm glad that they put in some heat with medium, and now I'm excited to try the higher heat levels next time!
PS: Oh, and of course the Chai tea was spectacular as well :)
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Royal Spice Fine Indian Cuisine in Victoria, and it was an amazing experience. The food was absolutely delicious, and I was impressed by the wide variety of dishes that were available.
I tried several different dishes, including the Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikka Masala, Biryani Rice, Dal Makhani, Seekh Kabab, and Lamb Chops. Each one was prepared to perfection, with rich and complex flavors that left me wanting more. The butter chicken was particularly noteworthy, with a rich tomato sauce that was well-balanced with the right amount of spices. The Chicken Tikka Massala was also delicious and had a great smoky flavor.
The Biryani Rice was also a great choice, it was fluffy and had a nice blend of spices and saffron. The Dal Makhani was a nice creamy lentil dish that was rich and satisfying. The Seekh Kabab was juicy and had a great taste and texture.
The lamb chops were cooked to perfection and had a great balance of flavors and tenderness. I also appreciated the variety of sides that were available, which really rounded out the meal nicely.
The service was also top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who were more than happy to help with menu suggestions and make sure that we had everything we needed. The prices were also very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food.
All in all, I highly recommend Royal Spice Fine Indian Cuisine to anyone looking for an authentic and delicious Indian dining experience in Victoria. It's definitely one of the best
I had never been to Royal Spice before and decided to stop in for lunch when I was shopping on the area.
Friendly staff explained how the buffet worked and the food was amazing! 14 dollars for all you can eat is a pretty great deal. So many vegetarian options, and it was busy and well-staffed. Nice for a quick lunch!
We were a large group ordered lot of food items.Normally when we as a large group goes to dine, there are 1-2 items which are not upto the mark just because of pressure on kitchen team.
This restaurant amazed us with their food.Everything that we ordered was so so goood.I wish them all the best.Remarkable food experience
Great food for the price. Lunch buffet (until 3 pm) is under $18, and they have lots of good options. Butter chicken is great. I’ve only ever had the buffet
Highly recommend
