Was there a few weeks ago, had the steak, fries and salad...It was very very good....Highly recommend the restaurant...Great food at a great price
I can't say enough good things about the Bent Mast. The staff is bar none the best, all are so friendly and helpful. My partner ordered the hamburger and I ordered the linguini. Hamburger was in the top 10.....it was sooooo good. Linguini... Hmmm loved it!!!!
Great spot for a bite to eat and/or a drink. I got the cashew chicken salad and it was so good! One of the best salads I've had in a while. Good service and a nice outdoor patio, too
I had a lovely dining experience here today at lunch. Our server Kailey was prompt, made excellent cocktails and always had a smile on her face! Her food recommendations were spot on based on our desired preferences (cashew chicken salad & cauliflower bites - YUM). The food was hot and delicious. Definitely recommend!
The calamari was delicious and cooked perfectly. This is a dish I find is usually overcooked and rubbery, but not here.
Homemade hummus and pita were also very tasty!
Everything is reasonably priced, and they have a great patio out front in a quaint little neighborhood. Ample seating inside but a very small area for bar seating if that's what you are looking for.
The service was also great. I felt looked after but also left alone to chat with my friend, which can be a tough balance sometimes for a server. We really appreciated the kind, friendly, and attentive service.
I'll definitely be back and will tell my friends about this place. It's a little off the beaten path but 100% worth it!
The Bent Mast has a great patio for the summer months, at the edge of the five corner intersection. Although the indoor atmosphere and setting is OK, we sit outside whenever possible. They have possibly the best Calamari I have ever tasted, nicely and lightly battered, with lemon and red onion, never tough and always very savory (they add some secret ingredient). The nachos are also good, mostly because of the house made Salsa that accompanies the chips. They also were early adopters of the crispy cauliflower rage and make a good covering sauce. The beers on tap change occasionally and are mostly from local breweries. There is always at least one worth giving a try.
This place is phenomenal. Consistently phenomenal. I've been coming to the bent mast over the years and I have always been able to depend on the experience. The food is always really good at minimum and more than a few times, it's been exceptional. The first time I went to this restaurant, my mom and I had a coupon from the be a tourist in your own Hometown promo. We were floored. They had a special with these deep fried mushrooms that didn't even taste like mushrooms. I don't like mushrooms but I like those. Last time I went there, I walked in with a table of nine and they sat us. I brought my fiance's family (who were visiting from Hong Kong) and all of them were so impressed. The service is great and the vibe is incredible. Plus they know what they're doing in that kitchen. Solid restaurant.
Classic pub food, large portions, funky chill atmosphere. Great selection of drinks and beers. Fish and chips were delicious - huge pieces, lightly breaded, homemade fries! Also had lamb soup - excellent flavours. They had some classic games available, which we enjoyed. Recommend!
I've been here many times for group meetings on the second floor. Their kitchen is open later than any other restaurant in town.
I like sitting out on the patio (weather permitting). The lower level is a bit dark, but so is nearly every other bar I've been to. The upstairs just seems grungy, but that's where groups seem to want to meet.
The staff more than makes up for it. They're awesome. The breaded cauliflower is great. Sweet potato fries are very good. Their salads are nice, too.
It's a perfect spot for parties and get together with friends and families.Its specious, cozy and got very lively vibes. The Service was outstanding with addition of delicious food. The Bent Mast offers full menu till 9pm and a Bar snacks menu afterwards till midnight. Crispy Cauliflower, Pita with Hummus and Fried Calamari were the top picks. Exceptionally good Cocktails and many more.. Highly recommended for get together. Quite reasonable too.
friendly pub with some interesting local fare. we had the curried poutine and a couple cocktails. the server was really nice and it made me feel like i was in scotland. it’s cozy inside with lots of grey-haired folks, but it’s also pretty laid back.
We had beer, wine, and some fantastic onion rings... Which are hard to find around here. Very friendly place in an historic old home. Very enjoyable experience.
Stopped just for a glass of wine and some appies. We had our dog with us and happily shared delicious (very spicy, which I love) cauliflower bites and calamari. Excellent!
We stopped here because The Bent Mast is pet friendly on the patio. What a great find! We ordered rock fish tacos and fish and chips and the food was delicious and unique. The amber beers were very good too! Our server was super cool! The weather was perfect and the whole experience fun and free spirited!
Best flavour burger I’ve had in this city. FRESH ingredients taste like from a garden! Better than Burger crush or even Big wheel. Quality
I really liked this place, they have great food ( Vegan friendly options) and a good selection of alcoholic beverages. Sit inside or outside . Staff is friendly and service was great! You should definitely check this place out if your looking for a unique , relaxed atmosphere.

Overall a good experience, a bit old fashioned and outdated but the place has history. The fish and chips good but not the best I’ve had had, service great. For the price it’s a good bet.
If you are looking for home cooked style food, look no further. Best cuisines and friendly staff and quick service. Highly recommended for quality time and great food.
