The lamb shank was very tender. I think it was the best lamb in the town! It would be nice to have some vegetables with it like Shawarma dish though. Overall, everything was great. I recommend you to try it!

First trip: Why haven't I been here before now?! I do love Persian food, so my review is biased. But the pita chicken schwarma was very flavorful and a nice kick to it (curry and other heat). Very filling, no need for a side. I liked the Crispy bits of the chicken. Quick turnaround as well

I ordered the Maquli Pita (eggplant, halloumi and fries), it was perfectly spiced, hot and delicious. I couldn't believe how good it was the whole time I ate it. Top notch sandwich!

Absurdly tasty. The lamb schwarma wrap is a cacophony of many elements all individually seasoned and all making a taste symphony. Friendly service and a lovely, if understated, vibe.

Yalla is a step above the rest!! The hot sauce they put on the lamb was excellent, the food was super fresh and it was a fair price. Service was great. 10/10 would return here again. They also recently started offering a bean meat stew which was super tasty

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this Middle Eastern/Persian restaurant and was thoroughly impressed by both the food and the hospitality. The maquli bowl, which I ordered, was bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. The portion size was generous and left me feeling satisfied but not overly full.
What really stood out to me, though, was the warmth and welcoming nature of the staff. From the moment I entered the restaurant, I was greeted with a smile and made to feel like a valued guest. Throughout my meal, the staff checked in on me to ensure that I was enjoying my food and had everything I needed.
Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for delicious Middle Eastern/Persian cuisine and a warm and welcoming dining experience. I will certainly be returning soon!

I go to Victoria often for business and always eat at the usual spots. Today a cab driver recommended this place.
I usually never write reviews, but for this place I had to. What an amazing experience! It’s a family owned business and you feel like you’re at someone’s home. They are friendly and welcoming. Food is outstanding, fresh, great quality, and portions are just right.
I will get back again and again!

Went for dinner tonight. Haven't been in about 5 yrs or more as I'm rarely downtown. Wow. So good!
Had the Maquli bowl with lamb... Unreal how good this was. Good portions for a very reasonable price. Service was great. I was so impressed. I will be back very soon.

It was my first time in an Iranian restaurant in Victoria. I ordered Baqali polo with Mahiche, it was so delicious. And also the employees were so nice and kind. Good atmosphere. Recommend.

Had the persian shawarma bowl, was outstanding, and the portions were insane, basically got three meals out of it.
The folks working there are great too, and made sure to let me know which dishes were celiac-safe. Will definitely be coming back.

Over the past few of years I’ve walked pass by this place couple of times, finally today my friend and I finally paid a visit. We came in at the tail end of lunch time and there are still people ahead of us waiting to pick up their orders. From this phenomenon I can tell that over the years the locals have found this place a gem.
My chicken sharwama wrap tasted delicious. I tasted light curry and yogurt amongst the greens and chicken fillings. The wrap towards the end leaked out oil, while that might just be me not eating it fast enough/ in the right way.
Cashier knows the menu and is friendly. Your order gets brought to you when dinning in. Large glass/ plastic jug of water on the side free to fill.
All the staff are in the kitchen prepping food orders. I know I would feel more comfortable if the tables could be wiped down after each use or at set schedule. Marvelous that diners have been decent tiding up after themselves. Nevertheless, the virus is still around and death number still gets published.

Stopped by for some lunch and the staff were absolutely lovely. Wonderful customer service. The inside is clean and they have free ice water. Would highly recommend for a delicious meal.

An awesome place to come and eat. I shared the brussel sprout hummus with my partner, and he got a shawarma plate.
That was hands down the best hummus i've ever had- and not to mention the pickled veggies were absolutely amazing!
I will definitely be coming back for more of that perfect shawarma and delicious hummus!
The atmosphere was also really peaceful, and the place was super clean! A definite recommend.

Pretty decent falafel wrap. There aren't too many places in Victoria that I've encountered that do them, so it was fortuitous stumbling upon Yalla.
I will say that I thought the price was a bit high. I ordered a large which wasn't sizeable by any means and it was $15.50 before tax and tip. I remember these being $8 or so from the food trucks in Vancouver.
The gentleman at the counter was friendly and polite which is always a bonus.
Going to give this place another try with my fiancee in the future as the other dishes folks in the restaurant were munching on did look quite tasty.

I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while and it was very worth it! Wish I hadn’t waited so long! I had the chicken Shawarma wrap and a halloumi salad. Both we delicious and full of delicious flavours. The portions were very generous as I could only eat half of each. The people working there were very friendly and super happy and smiley! I will be back again soon and highly recommend this place!

Their salads and hummus plates are the best. Flavourful, well thought out, great bang for your buck, and nice people behind the counter. Fave lunch: Fattoush OR Halloumi salad, add turkey with all the sauce. You won't be disappointed.

I have been waiting for these guys to open! The shawarma is so awesome and I realized it is the best "walking food" for downtown. The food is delicious, healthy, and well priced. I already had two days in a row for lunch and dinner. Keep on rockin, Yalla!

One of my favourite supper spots. Great food. Good service. I love the Gluten-free shawarma bowl and Kennebec fries. Their lemonana is far better than any of the other ones I've tasted. It will make you pucker up! Everything looks and tastes so fresh.

Visited for the first time today. I had the falafel wrap. Super yummy and reminded me of the falafel shops in Israel. The only difference is there aren't 20 or more different pickles to choose from. Yalla have their own standard toppings they use.
I'm anxious to go back and try their shawarma.
I love the simple basic menu and service is excellent and fast considering the line up.

Went there for dinner with a large group a couple nights ago. The service was excellent, the staff was so friendly. The food is incredible, you can taste how fresh everything is. The fries are like nothing I've ever tasted. I could live on their salads and shwarma.
