We absolutely love Sushi Story!
We order delivery from them at least once a month and have had the pleasure of dining in a few times too.
Service is always incredibly kind and attentive and the food comes out very quickly, even on a packed night.
We've been eating here for over a year now and have yet to be disappointed once. Even their delivery people are very kind and for online orders, they will call to ask if it's alright to come earlier than the estimated time.
We swear by their Esquimalt tray. It's the perfect choice for a movie night and stuffing oneself with delicious food!

Awesome restaurant! Their bento boxes are massive and super tasty. It gets pretty crowded as soon as they open, but the service is top-notch. Our waitress was incredibly sweet.
Me and my girlfriend go here frequently and it's our choice for sushi always! The servers are unbelievably nice and the food is always great and good portions (the chicken teriyaki was so shockingly big haha). Also LOVE the complimentary spring rolls! 10/10
Okay update to my previous review! They gave me a free half order of korean fried chicken takeout because of the forgotten pickup item from last time (pork gyoza). I personally ordered a separate full package of the volcano and another half package. I tried every flavour. the chicken is fair. not too strong like the mainland korean restaurants but not too mild either. the volcano isn’t very spicy but it does taste exceptional. perhaps it’s my luck to be so tolerant to the heat. the receptionist is bubbly and welcoming. their in-house hospitality was profound. super busy inside the restaurant but ice cold AC. they sat me down at the bar and gave me spring rolls and water while I waited for the pickup. the guests were talkative. and the ambient atmosphere inside was a positively quick changeover from the busy intersection outside.
New ownership in the last year or so but still very good. Wish I could say it’s still the best but not sure anymore- maybe there’s a newer authentic Japanese restaurant out there…. Still one of my favourites for sushi
The sushi Tasted fresh, delicate, my only wish is that I got my sockeye vs farmed, had they offered to fix it when I noticed I didn't speak up for what I wanted better I would have given them 5*, but I will be back as it's the best I've had in victoria, interested to try more.
Their combos are well presented and the food looked delishes, so good I forgot to take a picture before I started.
I oredered the monkey brains, the tagadashi combo and a salmon roll.
Sushi Story in Esquimalt has become my go-to local sushi spot. While it may not compete with high-end sushi joints, it certainly delivers delicious fare that satisfies my sushi cravings. Their food quality is commendable, especially considering its price point and location. But what truly stands out at this establishment is the service. The staff are incredibly polite, elevating the dining experience with their exemplary attention to guests. The ambiance, though not particularly remarkable, provides a comfortable backdrop to enjoy a meal. If you're in the area and are looking for solid sushi and outstanding service, Sushi Story is definitely worth a visit.

Very sweet staff and very delicious food. Loved the service and the experience. Would love to come back and try more stuff on the menu.
Nice place to eat Japanese Food for special occasion with Family and Friends. Parking could be an issue as parkade is small and if it's full, one may have to park away on the street. Overall, it is a Fantastic Place to eat.

My personal favourite sushi in greater Victoria. The sashimi dinner box is my go to. Very filling at a fair price!
Dined at this restaurant recently! Their food was great with a very affordable price! Try the Crazy Girl and the Crazy Boy! We also had the Bibimbap as well. It was a great visit!

This is our favourite go-to sushi and Korean restaurant in the region. The food is delicious, the presentation the best I've seen (and I've seen a lot!) and the staff are exceptional. We love receiving the joyful greetings when we arrive and appreciative farewells when we depart.

Been here twice in a span of 20 days, which is a little too soon for me. Within those two visits, I've both had great services and great food. That consistency is very valuable to me, which I usually give restaurants one visit where the food may not be as good that time.
I may be in a disadvantage for points of view, but I did order two dinner Bento specials in a row. It is typical Japanese food fare, but the value is good for what you are getting, in my opinion. The menu is massive, which can be good or bad depending on your preferences. They have hot pot (shabu shabu) specials on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and they also have featured Korean fried chicken on their menu on my most recent visit.
Being very extremely picky, my complaint would be that the pork katsu batter was too flaky or overdone that it was very delicate on the pork and was coming off too easily. This was on the latest visit. However, still very consistent in flavour otherwise. The server is very lovely, we had the same server both visits. Despite having two tables that are groups, she was very careful in ensuring orders are delivered, and customers got their requests. I realize it's very tedious to keep handing mini plates to customers in tight corners, so props. I like the cart for delivering many orders, it just really helps the server a lot.
The location may be far for some, but I recommend giving their establishment a visit! It does get busy at times, I suggest a reservation if you plan to come in a group.
Love this place a lot. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. I generally stick to my favorite dishes but there is so much to try. The menu is really incredible and always fresh.
I live in Langford, but this place is still my go to. All the servers and customers are so friendly. And the food is absolutely amazing. I highly recommend sushi story.
Our kids' favourite sushis in town! We do takeouts and they're always ready on time. The ordering system online is so convenient. Staff is lovely.
Awesome Japanese cuisine. We had a taste of salmon tempura appetizers and vegetarian udon. Helpful, kind staffs and free parking.
