I go there always for my olives (best selection and prices in town). Pizza is really good, lots of interesting and unique grocery items. But the very best thing about them is the service - always quick, always very friendly.
I've been searching for years for a good Lebanese donair in Victoria and this is the place to go! I wouldn't get a donair anywhere else in town. I can't wait to try their other food!

I love the spinach pies. And the veggie pies. Made with crispy phillo pastry. Fast food that's more than delicious. The walnut spread and all the other dips you need to have for your gathering are sure to please. It's a great place to get items for group food too. And the olives. Don't get me started. Yum.
Ate breakfast here on the recommendation of other users. It is indeed a real find. The owner is extremely friendly and knowledgeable about his wares, and the food is delicious. Don't expect your typical egg breakfast however. I had the manoushi zaatar with coffee and was transported.
We were looking for a lunch spot near U Vic and didn't want Corporate food, some place with home made, real food. This place delivered. Lamb souvlaki was first rate. Not expensive. The pizzas looked really good too. Great coffee spot as well. We'll be back whenever we're in town. If your looking for real food at a reasonable price, try Fig's.
Best deli and food store in town hands down..We discovered Fig a few months ago and have been regular customers ever since.
I can wholeheartedly recommend this place for a quick lunch, an early supper or to take home a selection if their scrumptious offerings.
The pizza, greek salad, hummus, whole wheat pitta, rice pudding, great olive selection, yummy deserts, the list is endless.
Our kids LOVE this place.
The staff are really helpful and friendly
and the atmosphere reminds me of the Mediterranean.
Fig is fast becoming our store of choice and our only regret is we didn't discover it earlier.
Fig -- the best. From product to service to price -- all excellent!
Awesome Food, great service. ..now who wouldn't love this place!!#
the food here is always fresh, authentic and made in house..
yasser the owner is a super nice guy and very personable..this place is here to stay and we will continue to be regulars here
Yummy Yummy!!!!. Stopped in for lunch today...had never been there. We had a falafel wrap and pastitsio with a order of spanakopita...we shared everything. It was all very tasty and quite delicious!! We were eyeing up some dessert and a turkish coffee but ended up being too full after our lunch. Had to walk around for a bit and then came back for a couple pieces of baklava and the turkish coffee. They were both very good as well. I would definitely recommend a visit. We will be back to try something else...maybe pizza. Looking forward to it already!!!
We simply love love Miditerrean foods. I always pre-order the cheese pies and bouggasta desserts because they sell out quickly. This is the 'go to' place for amazing olives, greek cheeses, phyllo bakery treats, Turkish coffee and superb variety of dips like hummus, tzatziki, walnut. Eating food from the Fig Deli is like being back in Greece. Delightful!
Good mousaka. Some of the best mousaka that I've had. The manoushi is a well priced snack or light lunch. The lamb special for $12 was over priced for lamb, rice and two pieces of potato. Greek salad would have at least made it a complete meal.
Fig is both a market and deli. The market I can recommend heartily, as they have a variety of products you can't normally find in North America, and at good prices.
The deli doesn't seem to be the focus of this place. They had decent spanakopita when I went, but I don't know if this is really the kind of place you stake out for lunch. They do have wood oven pizzas!
Great place for lunch. Great place, really good olives, spreads, and the best Feta cheese. Enjoyed a great lunch today.
Moussaka and pastitio!. I had the best moussaka dish today for lunch. Sat in the shady part of the outdoor area with my baby and enjoyed a large slice of heaven on a plate.
Best Feta cheese in Victoria!. I've been telling everyone I know, for years, that Yasser's Mediterranean Deli has the best tasting Feta cheese you will find in Victoria. In big tubs and the staff will cut you the appropriate size, don't forget the brine. My favourites are the creamier Macedonian-style and the slightly chunkier Bulgarian-style. Also, the eight types of olives, that you can mix and match, for one price per 100 grams is a plus. Best wishes for the new location just off Cedar Hill Cross Road.
Exceptional. I am going back very soon to purchase some honey, the amazing plump, yellow walnuts & replenish my dips. This place is superb. The best hummus & tzatziki dips we have ever had. Fresh flavour. Perfect symmetry of all the ingredients.
So many products to choose from, pasta to spices to canned green pepper corns, eggplant, antipasto, hot peppers to tahini salad dressing, rose jam.......so many specialty products from all over the world...a whole cart of olives to choose from & cheeses. I saw a wheel of my ATF smoked applewood cheddar.
I bought the trio of essential oils: lemon, lime & orange. Made amazing lemon poppy seed cupcakes. There was dried fruit like cantaloupe...a large selection of olive oils. Lady fingers for tiramisu.
The staff was friendly & there is lots of parking at the back. Very popular place, understandable....its one of my new ATF delis in Victoria
Great!. The food here is amazing! Fresh made dips, salads and pastries. cheeses and imported foods all at competitive prices! I frequent it! Just to address the poster about rude staff.. The staff is very friendly and you have to keep in mind cultural differences. people from middle eastern countries sometimes come across as being aggressive, but that's just the culture. sometimes what seems rude isn't as rude as you may think..
Amazing place. Awesome staff.... Hidden gem. The falafel really IS that amazing.
This place is a hidden gem! We recently stopped in for the first time and we know it will definitely not be our last. The variety of dips they make fresh daily are so flavorable...we can't wait to try them all! The feta spread and walnut dip are amazing (recommend trying them with the flat bread you can find in their freezer). The spanakopita was also fabulous.
Great staff. Friendly owner. Really good food. The best falafel in town IMO. Thanks for all the healthy lunches.
Holy crap! Where'd this come from?. What a great little surprise when I went to my doc recently. There, a couple blocks away, was this Mediterranean shop.
I'd just moved from Vancouver and was heartbroken to leave my beloved Parthenon store behind.
The owners here are Turkish, and their whole family works in the store. The young son, late teens, was super-helpful when I visited. One of the middle-aged gents realized he was out of their incredibly popular walnut spread and promised to make a batch shortly so I'd have a sample. Meanwhile, the son's giving me all these tastings of their house-made Mediterranean spreads.
Like the sundried-tomato & feta spread that's herby and awesome. Bought that!
They have harissa and preserved lemons, Cretan olive oil, glass-bottled tomato sauces from Italy, and even a great Californian Chipotle-Lime mustard I promptly turned into a great salad dressing for a Chicken, Bacon, Avocado, Tomato, and Shallot salad I made that night.
It's not big, but it's pack full of awesome.
If that's not enough, what about making an absolutely kick-ass authentic falafel pita wrap for $5? The store's small enough already without a mini crowd of people standing and chowing down on these wraps with all the traditional fixings. I loved mine!
I highly recommend this shop. They have great authentic ingredients for the picking, reasonable prices, and fantastic service.
One can only hope they magically double in size and can carry even more.
Incredible deli. The people are so friendly and helpful. Great selection of specialty items and the feta, spanikopita, tzatziki, and dips are amazing.
Tastiest falafels, friendliest staff. Awesome Mediterranean groceries. My favorite lunch stop.
Food was very good but can't say it was the best souvlaki i have ever tasted but I would return. More feta please! Everything else was awesome!
I tried Spanikopita, soup, cookies, shwarma and souvlaki. Yum!
Great little deli. Stopped in today while visiting from Vancouver. Got some spanikopita and samosa. Since it was after 5 and they close at 6 a lot of deli items were out of stock. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
Got one chicken and one veg samosa and we split it. We both liked veg one better, and the dough and flavour reminded us more of egg roll than traditional samosa. It comes with mango chutney.
Will have the spanikopita from breakfast tomorrow.
Found an amazing tea from Greece, mountain tea, it is absolutely delicious, I will be back for more, and try other deli items.
Update: came here earlier in the day and tried more things. So impressed and happy with this shop. Amazing olives and feta, tzaziki, my favourites are the cheese spanikopita, and a brilliant lentil/noodle salad (forget the name) but I highly recommend, it comes with hot sauce, delicious!
The best tabbouleh I have had for years! Often it’s sold as a soggy bulgar (or quinoa?) dish with a sprinkle of parsley, and not much flavour. Joy to my palate to find Fig Deli! Authentic tabbouleh rich with parsley, olive oil, and a perfect balance of lemon, garlic and mint.
Had a delicious flat bread thingy lol, had meat on it. Freaking delicious! Lots of oils, olives etc etc. A hidden gem. Went in again and was blown away with their food.
What a wonderful store, cafe, and place to pick up delicious food. Every time I visit (which is more and more often) it is a wonderful experience. Cannot recommend more highly.
Great selection of Mediterranean food, the staff is very helpful and gives upfront details about next delivery date if an item is not in stock.
The Margherita Pizza and Meat Manakesh is delicious!
Wide selection of produce and deli goods that will make you want to return. The oven baked Mediterranean flatbread is scrumptious. Christmas Stolen has arrived!
Great place for good quality and inexpensive pizza, soups, falafel and more. I recommend the spinach and garlic butter pizza, and the walnut and feta dips. If you're interested olives, this is the place for you. There is a decently-sized grocery section where you can find lots of goodies, such as Persian tea, Palestinian olive oil, Italian pasta, etc. The staff is friendly and polite.
I’ll add my voice to those that are enamoured with this store. If you are looking for Mediterranean related condiments or meals, this is a super place. For imported foods from The Middle East the prices are not unreasonable. Tzatzikl, olives, olive oil, feta cheeses, etc. Etc.
Absolutely lovely little deli. The staff were quite friendly and welcoming despite the myriad questions we were asking (it was our first time here), and the food is delicious! Their cheese manoushi, spinach and feta spanakopita, and sfouf for dessert were all quite tasty, and the Turkish coffee is good and strong.
Best pizza in town, staff is super friendly! They have a wide range of imported goods, can't speak highly enough of The Fig
Such a cute little store! So glad I finally had the wraps, and love the variety of the things they sell. Can't wait to try the pizza and pastries!
Excellent selection of items from Middle East, mediterranean countries, Eastern Europe. Prices are steep, but it is Victoria, after all. Staff are friendly and often you can find things here that you can't find anywhere else. Great food too with delicious pastries and yummy pizza.
Good selection of Mediterranean specialty food at reasonable prices. Their spreads are great, particularly the baba ganoush and walnut spread, as is their tabouleh. They also have a great range of olives (I love the sun-dried Moroccan and lemon olives) and feta. Pair with the special flatbread from the freezer section for a tasty meal. They also make hot, fresh zaatar manoushi and pizzas, and tasty desserts, including tiramisu and Middle Eastern orange cake. Wide choice of olive oils, dried pasta, spices and other deli good, including items you won't find elsewhere on the island.
You have to love a place where the owner greets you warmly. The prepared food is generous and very tasty with those authentic Middle Eastern flavors. The grocery side offers plenty of olive oils, dates, spices, and whatever you need to make that feast you always wanted to try making. Then try the sticky sweet desserts! It's all the way across town for me, but I'll easily make that drive because I want the real thing! Fig Med
Deli is awesome!
Best French cheese, foccacia is good, top. If you are starving for good south European food, visit this shop
You can get some European products here that they don't have in most grocerie stores. And they have excellent deli products such as their spanikopita and Samosa's
