Penny Farthing is a great local pub in the heart of Oak Bay. Their food is classic British and delicious. the french onion soup is authentic and so good on a cold day. Their fish and chips is also delicious. I would skip their sangrias - but overall good! Staff are friendly and has a nice academia feeling atmosphere

Delicious food and amazing burger featuring local beef. It was super tasty and they accommodated a bunless option without hesitation. The shrimp and avocado salad is a MUST TRY. Generous amount of shrimp. A guest ordered the baked brie and it was very well done. Great service. Would definitely go back!

Many beer choices, and really delicious root veggies pot pie. Had an excellent time there, also great atmosphere to have conversation with friends without being disturbed by loud music

A traditional English-styled Pub with atmosphere to match. The service was good, the selection, price and flavour of the food and beverages were excellent. Well worth a visit if you are looking for pub food in the area.

We had the burger. The beef was really good as it says. Chowder was good, but I've had better. Friendly service but she had a lot of tables to serve so she was busy. Really nice choice for stopping by in bikes.

Overall a good English pub with a nice outdoor patio.

I went to Penny Farthing for my husband's birthday and had a great experience. Our server was friendly and attentive. He also scored bonus pionts for bringing my husband a complimentary birthday Ceasar. We both had the French Onion Soup and Chorizo Penne and thought both were great and reasonably priced. Since the French Onion Soup is quite rich, we could have shared one between the two of us.

A local favorite 😍 fir my friends and I.. after eighteen holes @Royal Victoria Golf ⛳️ club. Great food, soup and friendly staff. I like the bangers and mash/a pint o Guinness, while the Mrs.. loves the charcuterie board/a lime margertia. Be sure to say magic words ✨️ "sei a hum ba, a uca yen quen coous" three times, very slowly. To receive free bread/butter. Cheers Fotastic Friends!! 🍻

This place has a traditional British pub vibe. Kind of dark, with somewhat old beer smell inside. Even tables feel a bit sticky like they weren't cleaned properly. And all of this gives kind of special charm to Penny Farthing.
Customer service was awesome. Young ladies were quick, polite and very attentive to our requests. Drinks and food came rather quickly. It was a service with a big smile.
Their West Coast chowder with smoked salmon was the best we ever tried. We were glad we decided to try this pub.

It was busy and we managed to get a spot on the patio. Had calamari and it was delicious. Our server was nice, but she was busy. They were out of the beverage I wanted- but otherwise a good experience.

The cream pasta is unforgettable. I will definitely return and bring friends with me! The atmosphere is just amazingly old school--perhaps English or Scottish or Irish or Welsh or a mix of everything British! There's a patio out front. The middle room is just lovely for intimate conversations. And, there's a room extension with more sun. We chose the sunnier spot at the back so we can gaze at the surrounding beauty more clearly.

This place is heaven on earth. The clam chowder, the shepherds pie, the sticky toffee chocolate pudding are just divine. The beer selection is great, and on top of that the decor and ambience is just perfect.
