This place was a rainy night dream for us! We walked in received great service with a warm smile! We had great seating and the server was so amazing! She kept us well accommodated for and was polite and friendly the whole time! Now the star was the food! Incredible fresh pizza and ingredients transformed into a Tuscan vacation! We will be coming back for years to come

Famoso Italian Pizzeria + Bar, Johnson St. Victoria BC is expert in traditional cooking and serving different tasty Italian Pizza. This is situated at very prominent location and heart of the city. Place is very clean, quiet, well maintained, well managed and organised. Service is very good. All the staff is very cooperative, helpful and friendly. Food is very tasty, healthy and hygiene. Food is freshly cooked and served.

I wanted Napoli style pizza because I have been pizzeria in Napoli in Italy. Margherita was good!
There is only one thing I don't like that their need ventilation. When I first stepped inside, I felt stuffed.

Loved it! The atmosphere is really laid back and lots of natural light. Super good for families. I went solo and had a pizza. The pizza is traditional and stayed warm to hot for a good period of time. Which was amazing! Two tvs if u like sports like me. Will be back and recommend it . Nicely located

Went to Famoso after reading positive reviews. The restaurant was full with families, couples, and groups, creating a lively atmosphere. We were promptly seated and ordered 2 pizzas.
Our pizzas arrived relatively quickly. These were some of the best Neapolitan pizzas we have had outside of Italy. The crusts were well cooked, tender, and tasty. The pizzas had a nice sauce and the toppings were fresh and well prepared.
We were very impressed, and as annual visitors to Victoria, we will certainly return and highly recommend it.

First time visit, food was good, service was excellent. Managed to grab a corner table since it was not that crowded.
The tomato bisque was very good.
Slightly disappointed on the Bruschetta as it seemed to have more onions and a very overpowering taste as compared to the 🍅 or herbs in it. Also the bread was the same for Bruschetta and flatbread which seemed a little odd.
My friend had the meatballs in his shareables and he remarked that the sauce was great.
Will have to revisit for an actual pizza or dining experience

I just went to this place today after having a bad experience there a couple years ago. I have to say, the pizza was really good and I don’t say that lightly. The crust was chewy yet crispy, like I’d expect from a neapolitan pizza. The toppings were delicious and seemed of high quality. The waitress was the owner and was extremely nice. She mentioned that they took the place over a year ago, and it shows. I will be coming back here again!

The pizza was amazing but the whole edge of my crust was extremely burnt. The service was good and the place was calm and nice until some people and all their screaming kids came in. which isn't the restaurant fault, it's just something I noticed, it was kinda annoying because they seated them right in the middle of the restaurant when there where big tables off to the sides.

mozza balls, sweet bbq chicken pizza with tomato bisque. pizza flavour was the wrong choice.
I don’t like sweet sauce on my pizza it turns out, I better stick to my classic flavours.
The mozza balls were awesome, wrapped in prosciutto i think and not fried, Baked! drenched in tomato sauce with fresh basil. it cane with yummy garlic bread. A nice choice if you haven’t decided what to eat in the area.

Famoso's Margherita is the closest to the real thing that I've had in north America. That in itself is worth the five stars, despite some oddities (like putting chicken on pizza) which I'd put down as concessions to the local taste that are necessary for business. The tiramisĂą is also worth of the Margherita.
The staff are friendly and polite; tables, plates and silverware are clean. The dine-in hours are too limited right now due to staffing issues but hopefully that will go away when the COVID insanity ends.

My spouse and I went there for lunch on Tuesday March 6 2018 and it was the worst food experience we have had in a long time. We will NEVER return there ever again.

The restaurant was also dead (there was only another couple eating). The waitress (Julia) was too busy flirting with the cute pizza boy to really care about the customers.
After we were seated, she made a mistake on the order and never even apologize but, instead, was annoyed at USA d made us feel like it was our fault. The 2 “pizzas” did not even look like pizzas: they had no shape, one was undercooked, both were too chewy and they looked like they had been done in a hurry by a 5-year old!!!
Not once during our meal, did anyone check with us if everything was fine. I kept looking on the side at the manager being oblivious and the pizza boy and waitress making googly eyes at each other.....
When at the table, the waitress never really looked at us, or engaged in small talk, or smiled.
Needless to say she got zero tips.
I have been working in the retail/food/restaurant business myself for over 20 years and so I definitely can empathize with the staff but there was no effort on their part.
Judging from all the other horrible reviews, I don’t understand how they still could be in business.

I had an expired groupon to use so we went on Sunday Sept 10th for a late lunch. The restaurant was fairly quiet, not even half full. We arrived at 3 pm and placed our order promptly after arriving. We each ordered a drink and the beer cheese macaroni and cheese to share as well as a pizza to share. Our drinks arrived promptly, but our food not so much... After being there awhile I felt there was quite a delay with our order. My spouse was 3/4 through his drink and I was half was through mine. I mentioned to him it had been awhile and when I checked my watch it had been 40 minutes, still no food. He mentioned that the couple sitting behind us had already complained twice... Finally 45 minutes passed and we received our food, all of it at the same time which seemed odd. Very disappointing. The macaroni and cheese was luke warm and the sauce was really runny like soup. Our pizza was also mildly warm. The cheese was congealed on the top. I wouldn't waste my money here again:(

Great food great service .. atmosphere not so great .. the acoustics are horrible where it felt as if the whole place was yelling .. tables pretty small for sharing a pizza and salad .. I had to hold my plate up just to get around the tiny space issue ..

Loved the building and the wonderful big windows...our waitress was great..very attentive and fast. Food was good...Our grandaughter, who is a very picky diner cleaned her plate of pasta and meatballs.Salads and pizza were all good for the rest of us....

Possibly the worst service ever. Came to Victoria for a business trip. Have eaten at their location in Vancouver a lot and always left happy with the food and service. Tonight was a different experience. Our server never once came to check how our food was or if we needed anything. We ordered a kids pasta and it arrived after we finished eating dinner because the first time it came the spaghetti was burned. The list goes on but I would not dine here again

The only thing that redeemed this place was our server. For starters when we got a table we were seated with no menus and no instructions on how to order. Another server prepped a table next to us and even though he saw we had no menus he did not offer any. Another guest seated next to us was the one that helped us out and gave us menus.
Every time something was brought out for us, drinks and food, it was offered to the tables next to us; we always had to speak up and say it was ours.
Our actual server, a short blonde girl with glasses, was excellent and apologized for everything. She was the only reason we left a tip. I do not think we will ever return to or recommend this place to anyone. There are far better places with better food and better service.

Loved the pizza dough for the kids. Way better than crayons/colouring pages. Genius!! Kept them happy and creative the whole time!
Great food. Tons of gluten and dairy free options which was a nice surprise. We were all fat and happy as we waddled our way out.
Our server was great too, helpful without being obtrusive!
Just a great night out! Really happy. We will be back for sure! Often!

The waiter was really rude since the begining, and he didn't change his behaviour all evening.
Now, I have never done this, but by the end of my meal I didn't really feel like leaving any tips... the service was awful!
When I paid the waiter didn't give me my change and when I asked for it he said that he wasn't going to give me any change cause it was his tip. I explained to him that I was unsattisfied with his service and that I didn't want to give him any tip. In the end he stole my money claiming that I had to pay him the tip. I told him that tips are VOLUNTARY and that he didn't deserve the tip because he had been rude all night. Anyways, I had to leave cause I didn't wanna make a scene. But I am never comming back! The service was really bad, food was cold, and after all that... they even have the nerve to demand tips when they are providing the worst possible service!

Love that no matter what one's dietary needs are, there is something for everyone! I don't eat dairy or meat and so I choose my own toppings and had non-dairy cheese, sun dried tomatoes, artichoke, roasted red peppers and fresh basil. So good!!

Friendly and efficient servers! Really kid friendly (my son loves his gelato dessert) and super affordable. I do find the restaurant kinda chilly sometimes though and I think the toppings are scarce on pizzas.
