Review The Beagle Pub - Victoria

This was my local as a university student. Always a great time with an awesome atmosphere and hard working staff. I haven't been back for 10+ years and the atmosphere is still wonderful for the lunch we had. Noticed a lot of retirees who still love a good pint at lunch. They have an excellent selection of beers on tap. Food is still top notch. I look forward to my next visit!

If you visit Victoria’s BeaconHill Park, and you love pub food then you must stop at The Beagle Pub. I visited Victoria for business and originally we’re going to try for Mexican food in the area. Unfortunately, it closed early. Fortunately, The Beagle was open so my colleague and I decided to eat there. We are both glad we did. The service is top notch, the atmosphere is pub-ish, yet serene. Easy to have a quiet conversation, whether you sit inside or outside. We went and ate - late lunch on both occasions. Many of the dishes looked 🤤 with the three we ordered being no exception. The first day I ordered the “Mexican Chicken Burger”. I opted for the wrap option with fries on the first day. The dish was just the right size for me. My colleague ordered the Beagle Club Sandwich with beagle fries and it was monstrous! We both agreed that the food was fantastic and the servings more than appropriate for a pub. We liked it so much in fact, that we decided to return the next day. Of course, being on a wife-mandated diet, my second meal was the same as my first except with a Caesar Salad. My friend ordered the fish (Cod)and chips. Again, mine was just the right size, even with the fries;my colleague’s was, again, pretty large. He even commented that it was a good thing the meal came with only one piece of fish otherwise he would not be able to finish. As on the first day, the service was excellent and the atmosphere good, albeit a bit louder than the previous day. I would recommend this place to anyone I know, travelling to Victoria and looking for a good, mellow place to eat great pub food.

The food is exceptional and drinks as well with a great atmosphere. I would recommend this place!

Nice find. Table was very skinny and we had to stagger to get out food on the table. Parking can be difficult to find. Food was hearty.

Took a very long walk around Victoria and around lunch we wanted something to eat. Saw this pub on our walk and decided to give it a try. I ordered one of the sandwiches on special and my cousin ordered the chicken fingers. Her chicken fingers weren't the skinny frozen kind thats for sure. I enjoyed my sandwich but definitely would get the chicken fingers next time. Service was fast and awesome. As well as sat out on the patio to people watch and enjoy our lunch. Would go back again next time back in Victoria.

Good place for standard pub eats, dog friendly patio is a huge plus! Had the beef dip, sautéed onions and chipotle mayo added a nice kick Overall a good place to have a meal with a furry companion !

Best food we had on our stay in Victoria, really really good! Nice cold drinks, excellent service and a relaxed atmosphere. They offer a lot of veggie options as well. Our visit was random as we just discovered this nice and quiet neighborhood on our walk and we did not expect such a good experience. Far better than downtown in our opinion. Thank you :)

Just had an amazing time there. The place was quite busy despite it being a weekday. Nice and fresh beer. This will be my favorite place.

Went last Sunday, when Cook Street Village had a market- it was super busy, the patio was packed outside! Had a dog, party of 4. We checked with the hostess, and thankfully there was another patio section in the back of the restaurant, with a few other dogs also hanging out. The energy was good, server was very accurate in taking our orders. I got a beef dip with onion rings- pretty good, the batter was crispy, and not too thick. The beef dip was flavourful. The rest of us also were happy with the food, presentation looked very tidy. I recommend, especially for those wanting to bring their dogs! Nice patio.

Best pub food in the west coast, hands down!

This pub used to be The Flying Beagle. Lots of microbrew beers 35 on the list but that includes Guinness and Strongbow. Very nice washroom. Nice patio. Good fast service excellent fish and chips with a generous portion of coleslaw. My partner had an apple walnut salad. No stout except Guinness.

The food is far better than most restaurants and the beer selection is incredible. My now new favourite place!

We took friends here from out of town for lunch and the food was excellent. We had the Baron of beef served with Ceasar salad and another with French onion soup. Also the Double double breakfast and the Clubhouse sandwich which was huge and delicious. Service was good too. Our only complaint was that none of the servers were wearing masks. We feel that for an extra bit of safety they should have been wearing them. Otherwise my review would have been 5 stars!

The beagle is a classic pub within cook st village and has been a staple there for many years for a reason. They continually update their menu and ensure the quality remains. Somehow everything on the menu costs pretty much 20$ from appies to burgers to salads so expect to pay that at least and at most. They have a good range of local beers and a large menu of mixed drinks as well

The perfect stop after a long walk in the sum. The Draught List is long, varied and covers all styles of craft beer and the food menu is varied and imaginative and very tasty!. Our servers (Nicole & Ashley) were knowledgable, friendly and attentive. Overall a great dining and sipping experience!

Great wings, delicious tuna burger and amazing service. Our server was super attentive, patient and made a huge impact on our visit. Place was pretty busy but not at the expense of their service or food. Looking forward to my next visit.

Just had a great meal and a very pleasant evening at the Beagle. Great food, excellent beer, delightful staff. We're Brits and know a thing or two about pubs, and this one comes highly recommended!

Sitting watching football and probably had some of the best pub food I have had for a long long time. Fantastic. Great staff too. Highly recommended it. Not too loud and a great place for a pint.

Great wings! We enjoyed the bourbon whisky, salt and pepper, blue moon wings and all were great. Plenty of draft beer selections yoo.

Absolutely love this place. It's my neighbourhood pub and I've been going for a number of years with no complaints. Love the food, the service is good and they have a GREAT selection of beers on tap! Highly recommend going. My only complaint is that its hard to find a table some times, which is good because it means they're busy!

This would be 4-5 stars but.... the balding guy who sits ion the patio and screamed at the waitress about trying to put out the sunshade killed our Buzz. He kept saying he knew the owner yada yada.....the owner needs to have a talk with the friend driving away his customers.

One of our favourite places in the Village - friendly servers, good food, and a friendly vibe in this, our neighbourhood pub, which is why we always take our off-island visitors here. Keep up the good work!

Been for drinks a couple of times during this trip to Victoria but had supper there last night (wings night) wings were awesome as well as other food ordered, and bartender knows how to make a mean Caesar. Servers were awesome. Will certainly go back.

Second time there and so disappointed with the service. The good news is I still think the good rocks .. but our server .. boo!

Great food, good beer, wait staff was wonderful. My daughter and I needed to relax after a long site seeing day and this just filled the bill.
