Amazing! It’s a must visit. We had the boeuf en croûte and it was the perfect melody of taste and flavour. Would definitely revisit. The staff were super friendly and personable.
great food, accomodating staff, super location and atomsphere

Great service from the bartender!!
Loved the quinoa salad! Was there today. Yummy!!!
wooooooooaaaahhhhhhhh. was not expecting that! wouldn't expect food like this ever, anywhere. I can honestly say I have never in my life eaten chicken that was cooked so incredibly perfectly or tasted so amazing in my entire life!!!! if u have not eastern here, do yourself a favor and go order the chicken right now. RIGHT. NOW.
I really enjoyed the atmosphere under the covered outdoor patio during lunch there recently.
It was like being transported to a different place and time. Open, airy, timeless decor, the nicest Victown patio experience for this resident for sure.
The staff was young, courteous and competent.
I ordered a prawn pasta dish with a cream based sauce. It was good, my companion tho had the prawn tacos and I managed to trade for one of those, oh man, that was really good, with a wonderful collection of ingredients and flavour. I will go again, especially if I want impress a friend or family member.
Top shelf all the way.
Had a great meal here tonight. Service was very prompt and was good throughout the meal I had the Cioppiono which was very good. Also stayed to take advantage of the post 10 pm happy hour drinks. Would definitely come again,
I just love the concept behind this Victoria restaurant. The restaurants that belong to this group, the 10 Acres group, all utilize produce from a central farm that is nearby. Whatever the farm cannot supply the restaurants with, they use local producers to fill the gaps. There are three different restaurants in the 10 Acres group: The Bistro, Kitchen and Commons. They are all very close to each other in downtown Victoria. This post is about the Bistro...
Solid farm to table style restaurant in Victoria. Very fresh menu with ingredients straight from their local farm. The vegetarian menu is decent and there is always a variety of local wild fish. Menu ranges from free range burgers to prawn Mac and cheese to quinoa bowls of the day.
There seems to be a heating issue at the moment, as the restaurant was quite cold. In the summer time the patio is beautiful.
My wife and I are currently sitting at 10 Acres on the patio and have to say that we have had a wonderful experience. It began with our waiting to be seated on the patio and being relocated to the bar where we had a great chat with Willis the bartender, who graciously provided us with wine samples in order to choose a bottle of wine. When seated, our server Molly was friendly and helpful. The food was excellent! Overall, we had a great experience and would recommend and come back again. 5/5 rating
I was pretty hesitant coming here for one of our two dinners in Victoria on our weekend trip there based on some of the reviews here. But man am I glad we went. Can't believe it, but I honestly think my meal there this past Sunday was one of my top 10 restaurant meals ever, and I've eaten at a lot of great restaurants.
The hostess and waitress were friendly and efficient. All menu questions were answered easily. Atmosphere was nice, nothing crazy special but no complaints. I was out with my wife and noise level was fairly quiet. Nice for a romantic couples dinner. The farm-to-table concept of the restaurant is great and the food is very healthy. 9/10 for these aspects.
I have Celiac so when I go on vacation I spend a ton of time researching which restaurants I'll be eating at to ensure as safe a meal as possible, while still looking for quality food. I had zero issues with gluten after my meal here. 10/10.
My meal:
1. "End of the Day" cocktail - a pint of Strongbow with an ounce or so of spiced rum in it. Surprisingly delicious, 8/10.
2. BBQ wings - baked (I think) organic chicken wings with rice/corn breading and a tomato-based BBQ sauce, 8 wings was a satisfying appy, super tender and moist, I mopped up all the sauce, 9/10.
3. Sooke Trout - perfectly cooked piece of fish with a soul-warming root vegetable side covered in the most delicious cream-pesto sauce I've had. I don't want to oversell this in case I pre-blow someone's mind and it doesn't live up to it, but I'm going to dream about that entree for a long time. Just loved it. 10/10 for sure.
4. Their gluten-free dessert was a sundae covered in honey and compote and whipped cream. 8/10.
It's rare that all 4 ordered items are at an 8/10 and above, and I can't say enough about the trout dish, so I have to give 5 stars. My wife really liked her meal as well (French Onion soup, cheese plate, and the pie on special), and all together the meal was only $83. Our $150 seafood meal the night before didn't even come close to being as memorable.
Maybe the menu items are inconsistent in their quality to explain the current 3.1 rating for this restaurant, or maybe some of the low ratings are old and things have really improved. If and when I'm back in Victoria, I can only hope that Sooke Trout is still on the menu, and if not I'll still return to this top notch restaurant.
My wife and I went to 10 Acres Bistro on nearly the last night of Dine Around. We had a reservation for 6pm, but we arrived twenty minutes early because we had anticipated having to search for parking and it was quite a bit easier than expected.
We were seated right away, the server (Jim) was prompt and attentive and the service was fast and the food was very good. We will go back there again as we had a very good experience. In a warmer time of the year we would enjoy dining on the patio, this time we ate in the inside.
Had a excellent dinner here the other night while visiting Victoria. Shared an appetizer of Quinoa Fritters and they were excellent. I had a main course from the specialty menu, shrimp tacos. They were tasty but the negative side is the sauce on them made my taco shell soft and they fell apart. Shared 2 deserts, the Pecan Pie and Chocolate Mouse - both deserts were to die for. General impressions, I would go back there is definitely some tasty menu items!
This is my FAVORITE place to go for fancy office lunches. They have the best, *bEsT*, **BEST** truffle fries. And I have tried a lot of truffle fries in the city. They put a generous amount of cheese and you can taste the truffle.
They have a really great selection of salads. I usually have the tuna salad (served tataki style) or the game hen salad (1/2 a roasted game hen with pickled veg, candies peacans and some cheese, I think it's a blue or gorgenzola).
I've enjoyed both the steamed shellfish (comes with choice of broth) and the whole trout dish. Their chicken wings are awesome and they are gluten free. Get the sesame chili ones. They also have some more indulgent options like fish and chips, pot pie, beef burger. I've been with two different people who had the grilled cheese and said it was noteably good.
I love the servers. Even before I was a regular they always treated me well. They have a casual and competent vibe.
The location itself is gorgeous. They have a large covered patio and two areas to sit in. I've never had to wait to get in.
This is my go-to restaurant for weekday lunches with coworkers or business lunches.
After reading all the bad reviews about this place we were kind of nervous about trying it.
We were greated promptly and with a glowing smile by John who quickly prepared a table for us. Our beautiful and friendly server, Feile, was efficient and attentive and helped us choose among the many options. The menu is straight forward and explained every dish.
We had: the farm sausage, the cauliflower dip, the Slater's chuck burger and the prawn pappardelle.
ALL the dishes were served hot and promptly. The dip was tasty, not too rich or salty and comes with plenty of bread. You can't go wrong this this one try it! The sausage was also tasty. I was not crazy about the sauerkraut though (not fan of the thing anyway so you might like it).
The burger was absolutely DE. LI. CIOUS. I have never had such a soft and cooked to perfection beef patty. The fries were also good, dipped in aïoli. It would have been nice to have the option to have a salad instead but hey! It's a burger and who can refuse fries?
The pappardelle were good. I expected the pesto to be more "pestoish" but it was subtle. The veggies were really good, cooked al dente.
For dessert we had pecan pie and their sundae. The pie was delicious accompanied with a fruit jam. The Sunday was just the perfect size and the crunchy lady fingers under the ice cream were a surprise Instead of the usual soft ones.
With taxes and tip (including a virgin ceasar and a beer) it was about 100$ which is really not bad for quality food like this. We definitely recommend it.
I had an amazing experience at 10 acres this past week. I fell upon this place with my husband for lunch and we weren't disappointed. We sat on the patio which can be quite hot on a sunny afternoon but they offer plenty of seating inside to avoid this. My husband got their tuna salad and enjoyed it so much he wouldn't share it with me! I got the farmhand lunch which was a beautiful charcuterie plate which offered a great mix of sweet and savory.
We love that they use all local ingredients with most coming from their own farm. Everything tasted very fresh and their pickled vegetables were delicious.
We enjoyed our lunch so much that we went back the next evening for dinner. My husband enjoyed the trout while I ordered the prawn pappardelle. The pasta tasted homemade and it was hard to stop eating it even though my stomach was telling me I was full.
I would come here again for sure! Next visit back to Victoria this will be one of the first places I'll come to eat!
Excellent local food! Best in Victoria!!! Love their local sourcing from their own farm. We had the salmon and seafood stew. Kids had the most amazing burgers.
Definitely coming back.
All the way from California.
6 of us came in for lunch today after wedding dress shopping and had THE most amazing experience from the service to the food. Our waitress was lovely and attentive and every single one of us LOVED our meals! I personally had the fish tacos with the soup and I was very happy with the portion size along with the tasty flavours. The restaurant is beautiful from head to toe, so much attention to detail and unique lovely features. This is a restaurant everyone should check out! :)
User reviews. Just an unexpected welcoming surprise! Great service to go along with great local food!!
Tasty Appy. Nice space and good vibe. Service was (mostly) attentive. The starter sampler dish was very well put together, and was exactly what we were looking for.
Like it a lot. Love the fish tacos and the late night menu. Usually sit at the bar, friendly staff and bar tenders, good selection of local draft, over all good atmosphere. One of my fave late night eateries in town

PLEASANT. Uber-trendy, hitting all the popular food fads. If that doesn't turn you off, you should enjoy your evening here. I tried the tagliatelle with chicken, which was well made if a bit on the salty side, and my wife had the manicotti, which came with a salad of local greens. Once it cooled, it too was tasty. The house-made sangria was drinkable, though every bit as dry as current tastes require.
FOOD: 3 1/2 chili peppers (out of 5)
SERVICE: 4 1/2 chili peppers
AMBIENCE: 4 chili peppers
VALUE: 2 1/2 chili peppers
My boyfriend and I had dinner there last night and we are still talking about it ! Everything was so perfect. The setting there is so cute and rustic and the food certainly exceeded expectations. We had the turkey dinner they have right now over the Christmas season and you could tell how fresh the produce was. If you are going soon I would recommend getting this ! Prices were great for the amount of food we got. Would suggest this restaurant to anyone in victoria. Can't wait to come again
Missing Bon Rouge but.... We are definitely missing the comfortable, French-inspired menu and decor that Bon Rouge brought to Victoria so I was very prepared to dislike the changes. However, the food, service, and atmosphere have won me over. If only both could exist...
Had most amazing experience! Food was awesome had there feature chicken parfait and the 10 acre pâté. Soo tasty. Thank you Amanda for the great service!!
Every meal here I've had has been absolutely delicious! The only issue I've had was a recent visit, where someone who seemed like the manager or owner arrived (seemingly drunk) and proceeded to yell at the waitstaff with extremely rude language. It was incredibly unprofessional, and my sympathies go to the wonderful staff who work there and had to deal with this.
Good Food Coupled with Excellent Service. Although Bon Rouge will be greatly missed, the new look of 10 Acres (not crazy about the name) is certainly something to see. The new patio is amazing despite its lack of cityscape or ocean views. The food was delicious despite its smaller than expected portions. The service staff was tentative and extremely knowledgeable. My wife and I decided to go for lunch. Upon being seated we were immediately greeted by our server Meg. She was extremely knowledgable of the entire menu, any questions we had, she explained in full detail of the menu items and how they are prepared and presented. She recommended the fish tacos and the mussels which were both excellent. Despite the busy lunch rush, our server ensured a pleasent dining experience. My wife and I both look forward to our next dining experience at 10 Acres!
Pros - Creative and fresh food. Atmosphere and service was absolutely tops.
Cons - While fresh, several entrées were under seasoned and sauce portions were improper.
Love the locally sourced produce and seafood. The farm to table element is well-executed. Even the simplest of items, like edamame, are done well.
Interesting cocktail list and great service made this a must-return location.
10 Acres downtown. 10 acres has a nice patio but it doesn't really look at anything as it seems to be a block off the tourist traffic areas but it is comfortable. The food we ordered is fine : fish tacos with apps of kale flakes and quinoa fritters. Tasty, well served. A problem with grit on one fork was addressed although the replacement fork had to be requested again. Also the lime supplied with the tacos didn't yield any juice. Small details but small details is what separates the big players from the bit players. Overall a good food experience waiting to become a great food experience.
Absolutely wonderful! The staff were courteous and prompt and the food was excellent! Highly recommend the vegetables and roasted chicken!
One of the most memorable medals I have had in a very very long time. Game hen was fantastic, wife's risotto was great and the rib appy was something I will make the 1200km trek for again!
Amazing fresh and well priced food, wiith good service and mojitos! I haven't had a meal I haven't liked.
The food was fantastic, the drinks were delicious and the server (Scott) was a perfect combination of attentive but not hovering and he was very fun. For an appetizer,2 mains, a dessert and 5 drinks it was just over 100 dollars. Great food and great price. We will definitely be returning.
Farm style. We recently dined for supper at 10 Acres. I was very impressed with the menu, there are many delicious looking items and it was tough to choose. They have a mix of "farm-style" tapas, appetizers, plus full entrees. We wanted to try many things and had a tough time determining what to order and how to split it up. The menu is a bit unclear in terms of portion sizes if you are looking to split some tapas etc.
We settled on langos, fish tacos, shrimp + crab and avacado salad, and steak frites. - an odd mix, but we had a tough time deciding. The langos are quite good to snack on. The fish tacos were good, but nothing spectacular. The shrimp and crab salad was excellent. The seafood was nice and fresh. My only problem with it was that I got a couple of shell bits in mine. I would still order it again. The steak was quite nice. It wasn't a large portion, but it had a nice sear and was glazed with kind of a sweeter date sauce.
For desert I had the white chocolate bread pudding. It was amazing. I think it was probably the best bread pudding I've ever eaten. White chocolate bread pudding can easily go too sweet, but it wasn't.
The drink menu was good- a lot of interesting choices. I haven't seen a beergarita on many menus before. Decent wine list.
The service was okay... our server seemed really busy and not particularly personable. She hardly let us get a sentence out before she would rush away. The decor was lovely.
I will have to come again to try the rotisserie chicken special. I saw it at another table and it looked delicious.
I didn't just like this restaurant, I loved it! It has so many things going for it. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. The decor is modern and welcoming. Most of all, the food is fresh, delicious, and reasonably priced.
What a great experience!
Omg, what a great restaruant. Everything is homemade and delicious.
Exceptionally Good. This is a superb restaurant. Every dish we tried had been thoughtfully designed and skillfully executed -- with the scallop risotto being a particular highlight. The staff were genuinely friendly, without being the least bit intrusive. They, and all of the customers, seemed really to be enjoying themselves. The menu has fish dishes as a particularly strong suit, but on the basis of what we experienced, I'd bet that everything here is good. They also have a great patio, and a proper big bar. We loved it.
Airy dining space with a seasonally appropriate menu. Great service - friendly and informed. Good menu with many specials.
My Farm Salad had a lemony hummus, perfectly cooked beets and firm lentils, with startlingly red but delicious onion on top. Very tasty and a perfect portion size.
I also tried the spaghetti Bolognese, pasta was perfect and came with a generous portion of sauce.
Lovely meal, well done 10 Acres!
This is a cute place, we were alone in the bar area at lunch, so we were a bit forgotten, but that's ok. They were very friendly. The steak sandwich is open faced and is quite tasty.
Found this gem as a recommendation on IG reels and glad I took it. The place was warm and cozy, it had three different themes of seating to choose from. Loved the food, the servers were polite and warm. BEST FISH AND CHIPS EVER. It literally melts in your mouth.
Overall had a great experience. Loved the ambiance and atmosphere of the place.
10 acres delivers! the food is delicious, looks great and all from their own farm.
Make sure to make a reservation so you get a great table.
We had the chicken and mussels, I feel it was a mistake. Should have stuck with one theme. Either seafood. Or no seafood.
The chicken was very very good.
I’d have it again.
The steak it’s not the best of the city but is fine. There is plenty other great options on the menu.
Overall the food is good and high quality. I’ll definitely recommend it.
Great place for a casual diner.
Good modern eatery with the nice vibes and delicious onion soup! We enjoyed cocktails, steak and delicious salad.
Be sure to try it. Everything great.
The lasagna was wonderful, The caesar salad and fries were so tasty but just a little salty.
Thank you to the service and kitchen team also management team.
Tasty good. Great service. Love the atmosphere. Great location, BUT food portions are small.
Food was great! Expensive but worth it especially knowing it is all farm fresh. Was very busy on a Tuesday night which was unexpected. The cheesecake was the highlight of the meal for sure
The atmosphere and service is great, especially if you are sitting on the outdoor balcony.
However, the food was okay and the other reviews about small portions are true. We ordered off the “large portion“ section and the seafood cannellini was only one 1 noodle per person for $31. The shrimp inside the cannellini was bland and overpowered by the cheese.
On the plus side, the brussels sprouts with bacon and honey are great
A farm to table restaurant. We walked in on a Saturday night and were seating right away. The restaurant is very big. There was a section with a bar with a younger ground, another sections with larger groups and family and then another area that seemed to be more intimate. Everything that we ordered was delicious- gnocchi, lasagna, and pumpkin cheesecake. Highly recommend the pumpkin cheesecake (without the apple compote and lemon-those flavours didnt go well together for my palate) I would say it’s the best I’ve had. Service was great. I would definitely go back!
We had an amazing experience at this location. The patio was such an amazing, peaceful and chill vibe. The food was incredible. We ordered the Mexican Corn, Halibut & Chips, and French Onion Soup. Everything was very well prepared and blew us away! For dessert, we tried the French Vanilla Creme Brulee which was absolutely incredible. The servers were very kind and ensured we were taken care of. We will definitely come back and dine here again.
My wife and I popped in for dinner when our cruise arrived in Victoria. We had the roasted beets, cauliflower au gratin, oysters au gratin, and the asparagus pastry. Everything was AMAZING! I was so sad we were only in port for a few hours. I would say this is a must for anyone traveling through Victoria. I couldn't possibly recommend my favorite dish. Order one of everything. 💜
Great location. Cocktails are not worth it although they sound really good on the menu. Service was a miss. Took us about 30 minutes from being seated until we got our orders in and took a bite. Quite loud if seated indoors. Seafood charcuterie was bomb! We were starving and this was THE fix. Humboldt squid appetizer was also very good. Worth trying.
Stopped in without resos for lunch, we were seated on the “indoor patio” which has a great vibe. Came in for an app and aperol spritz. Excellent atmosphere. Food was good, fresh and unique. They had a mix up with their bar order so they were out of Prosecco, which is fine..sh!t happens! Def coming back!
A very nice bar and restaurant. We went twice and sat in the bar area. Very nice service and good food. Had the pork chop and my wife had the spaghetti. Nice tap list.
Lovely atmosphere! Nice staff and quality food!
Incredible dishes and well designed menu! Had been there for breakfast and lunch, loved it both.
