Their Mushroom Hash is just phenomenal! Amazing service, cozy environment and a very diverse menu. Loved the experience and recommend them 100%.

A great place to go for comfort food. Once you try the potatoes with any egg Benny dish, you'll be hooked and you will come back for more. They are consistently awesome. The cocktails, wine, and beer were tasty, too. Good for couples, small groups or families.

Delicious food at very reasonable prices! The duck wings were particularly tasty. I also love the late night happy hour. Will definitely go back

Came here based on Google reviews and we were NOT disappointed. Probably the best tasting Ceasar salad I've had in years. Falafel burger was super tasty as well.

Best chowder I've ever had. Wish I had ordered the bowl. Bread pudding could have used more custard but that's probably personal preference. Unseasonably busy and short staffed when I was there in late November but still amazing service and delicious food. Attentive and very sweet waiter. Absolutely recommend.

Everything I ordered was NYC quality, no kidding. Hole-in-the wall…don’t let it fool you. They make & bake so many things in-house it just puts their food over the top. Calamari & Caesar salad were awesome. Oysters were super fresh. Prices were quite reasonable compared to the tourist places downtown. Go here you will not be disappointed!

We ate here 2 days in a row! It was convenient located in the heart of James Bay. Atmosphere was wonderful, menu items were plentiful and food was over the top! Live music twice a week people! Great little place to visit and will now be our go to place for eats!!!

The food here was fantastic. Our first try of poutine and we quite enjoyed it. Lovely seafood chowder was packed full of clams and fish. Really good green salad. Definitely recommended

Upon looking for a breakfast place close to our hotel, We discovered this hidden gem and decided to try it. Inside, you could tell there were many locals, which assured us this place was perfect. This charming local breakfast bistro catered perfectly to our group's breakfast desires, presenting various options. Adding to the experience, the staff showed exceptional politeness and warmth. When our orders arrived, we found ourselves super happy with the outstanding flavors and quality of the cuisine. Departing from the restaurant, contentment filled us, setting an ideal tone for the day ahead. This is the perfect way to start a morning in Victoria. It was so good that we found ourselves drawn back again the following day, unable to resist another delightful breakfast.

I absolutely love Heron Rock! Best Chicken and Waffles Eggs Benny in town. Tucked away in James Bay with a warm friendly atmosphere and the loveliest staff, definitely worth a visit! I would highly suggest brunch, they serve all week until 3pm. Chefs Choice Triple Benny is a great way to explore the menu or for people who can't decide and like a surprise. The chef will make you three different Benny's of their choosing and it's been super yummy every time! If you're feeling like a Cesar or Mimosa, Heron Rock has a fantastic list of all kinds of Cesar's to try as well as their "Manmosa".

What a lovely place with fantastic staff and great & tasty food. I had the freshly cooked mussels, they were amazing, afterwards the warm Reuben sandwich which I also enjoyed. The bread pudding was delicious.

After a long absence, it was wonderful to come back to the Heron! The place is even better than before, and the staff are upbeat, knowledgeable friendly and enhance the dining experience. The kitchen continues to shine with tasteful innovative creations and the whole atmosphere is genial, comfortable, and inviting.!

This is a great place for breakfast or lunch. The staff are very friendly and there is seating inside or on the patio. The menu has interesting item choices and everything I have tasted here is delicious. Breakfast is served all day. There is level access for wheelchair users and lots of low tables. There is a large, single room washroom that is fully accessible.

Burger was so yummy. Tastes of fennel seeds and caramelized onion with a delicious aioli with a homemade bun— nice take on a burger. Interior was pretty run down looking, and some strange decor choices, but outdoor patio was nice. Servers were attentive and helpful.

Heron Rock Bistro is a really great place to dine in and enjoy a meal. My wife and I visited from the Edmonton area and we were very glad that we found this place. If you are not familiar with a certain menu item, it may come as a surprise, so make sure you know what you are ordering first. I had the reuben sandwich with a house salad, which was spectacular! The dinning experience was nice and the staff are accommodating. Thank you Heron Rock Bistro staff for the wonderful experience:) We hope to visit again one day in the near future.

Lovely Victoria bistro with a James Bay vibe. My wife had the lamb burger and I had the buttermilk fried chicken burger. Both were delicious! Friendly staff and live jazz topped off a great date-night. We'll be back! P. S. Try the stilton cheesecake - it's divine!

I love this place so much! We go for brunch fairly regularly and they never disappoint. Also for dinner try the fried chicken and potato salad, it is amazing!

We attended a beer pairing dinner there last week and not only were the pairings spectacular, the people we mingled with were a lot of fun. A shout out to unibroue, and owner Andrew Moffat and his staff. I recommend heron rock for dinner, and just found out that they do an impressive breakfast fare.

Thank you Heron Rock for putting on an amazing Dine Around Town menu!!! I had the Crab Fritters, Albacore Tuna and Chocolate Dome Mousse. Each course was delicious and the the Craft beer pairings were on point. Will definitely be coming back. �

Overall a great experience with consistently good food. They accommodated our larger group (6 adults, 5 kids) with a smile and my meal was excellent, as it was the 6 other times I have been there.

Good food and live music. Very enjoyable but don't be in a hurry. We were a little frustrated with long wait for drinks, dessert and the bill. 2 hours from the time we got there to the time we left. And we did have other plans for the evening.

It was a disappointing experience today. I felt the lunch I had was overpriced and basically a 5 out of 10. A green salad with half an avocado, a bun ($1.50) and regular coffee ($3.00)-$16.50.
