Staff were beyond nice, not just for show. Very much got the feeling they actually cared. Oh and the waffle was unreal. Homemade seasonal berry changes from time to time and this time i got strawberry with a hint of rhubarb. Lemon whipped cream cheese underneath every waffle, even the bottom one!

What a great find! Such great service, fun atmosphere and OMG the food!!! I think I have found a new breakfast favourite when in Victoria! A must try is the lavender latte! So many delicious dishes to choose from. We didn't see 1 unhappy customer while here and we loved every moment!

1 word: wow. I was unbelievably impressed by my experience at The Ruby. A part of the lobby of The Zed hotel, The Ruby is a cozy and eclectic restaurant that oozes character. I was blessed to be able to order a Fried Chicken Benny which was very unique and incredibly tasty. I enjoyed my benny in combination with a well-prepared Bailey's coffee that was all served by a very kind and courteous waitress who ensured we had a wonderful experience. Just be prepared to wait during peak hours as it can fill up quickly, but I promise it is worth it. Overall, I was incredibly impressed by the food and experience and would recommend it to anyone.

Wonderful place. My husband had the homemade sausage Benny and said it was one of the top he has ever had. I had the shredded duck with crispy onions and brie on a homemade biscuit, outstanding. It has been a couple of hours and we are still thinking about how good it was. Definitely a place to check out.

Cute lil’ spot. Nothing to complain about! I expected breakfast sausage but it was more like one big brat. My fault for not asking for clarification. Vanilla latte was good but not very vanilla-y.

Went here for brunch. The food was amazing & the portions were huge! The potatoes are the perfect crispy fluffy ratio. The duck just fell off the bone & the sauce that same with it paired perfectly well. Would definitely go back & recommended. Only downside is that it's small so not lots of seating, but still worth a visit. The staff were also helpful & friendly :)

Tacos, chicken and waffles, duck hash and the meal or the day ! Very good, but a long wait. You must be patient if you want to come here, can take 30-40 min wait. But it has a nice sitting area. Good food though, was worth the wait.

Food is fresh local and oh so good. The hot sauce, oh boy! Definitely homemade with all sorts of love.
The staff are friendly and work great as a team supporting each other.
Very understanding and accommodating for those of use that have allergies.

It was perfect place with baby. My friend took her 10 weeks girl. The staffs was so nice and kind. We ordered 3 kinds of dishes. All good. Yummy with good coffee! It was first time visiting. Park also convinced.

What an awesome little gem hidden in plain sight, lol! Didn't have to wait too long for a table. Service was top notch, friendly, and prompt. I'm a Waffle 🧇/ Pancake 🥞 girl and The Ruby did not disappoint me. Caramelized bananas 🍌, roasted pecans and bourbon syrup, on top of a stack of mouth watering waffles 🧇. Hubby had an omelet with bacon 🥓, mushrooms 🍄, and cheese 🧀.

Always jam packed and high energy. The food is truly excellent and rather than standing in the usual long Sunday brunch line you can choose to sit and enjoy the typewriters in the lounge or play ping pong and Sega downstairs.
I've been for brunch a dozen times now and have never, ever been disappointed.

We stayed at Hotel Zed in 2019 and stopped at the Ruby for breakfast then. I ordered the Duck Benedict which has removed In My Memory ever since. I have looked for excuses to get there again and finally had an opportunity yesterday. It was every bit as good as I remembered. Full marks

I cannot say enough amazing things about this place! Our server, Mel was absolutely delightful! The food was amazing and Mel was very attentive and considerate of our requests. Ask to sit in her section, she's great! 10/10 would recommend. I had the Mexi Benny and it was phenomenal 😍

Amazing! We've visited the Ruby on Johnson, and had an incredible breakfast before, so we figured we'd try this location too.
Incredible (seriously) service, with 100-watt smiles. Not sure what our server's name was, but she absolutely earned her Wonder Woman tattoo (thank you again for a wonderful experience)!
The food was as delicious (and filling) as our previous experience. The mountains of waffles had our kids on cloud nine, while the breakfast tacos were a slam dunk for the grown ups. I'm not sure what they were called, but the ones with bacon are absolutely phenomenal - especially when drizzled with their homemade garlic hot sauce.
Yeah, we'll be back, all right. :)

Ate a lovely breakfast with my dad here. The portion sizes were very generous. Everything tasted fresh and yummy. Breakfast tacos were the bomb. Server was very nice and attentive and I appreciated that. Everything arrived quickly. I enjoyed this quaint cafe very much and it was a great way to end the weekend.

Great little place for brunch. Atmosphere is terrific; LPs playing, board games to play while you wait for a table, even a ping pong lounge downstairs. Food was delicious and service was top notch. Busy on weekends though; we had to wait 45 minutes.

My daughters took me out for breakfast. We got there just as they opened. We ordered the kids waffles and granola and yogurt. I ordered the Canadian Benny on a croissant. My food was great and the kids were happy. The lady that served us was not as friendly as normal but we all have our bad days. Love that they have a record player and they were playing some sweet RnB.

Really great place for breakfast/lunch. Portions are really good size, great selection, and delicious! I had the fried chicken benedict, which was atop jalapeño infused corn bread, crispy chicken, and fresh hollandaise. Can't go wrong eating here. The staff are really lovely, accommodating and attentive. Chill atmosphere - highly recommend.

Amazing location, decor, service, & food! From the moment you walk in the door you get this vibe that everything is going to be perfect, the music playing from a record player as the staff pick out albums and cue them up, the relaxed casual atmosphere with a great close knit space… it all leads up to some amazing portions at great pricing.
