Went to this amazing nook in Victoria downtown during my short trip to the Islands. Was lucky to get a seating on the bar counter as we didn’t make a reservation but the food was so great. Loved the cocktails, especially the season special. Highly highly recommended this place if you’re in town. Don’t forget to make a reservation.

We did not have a reservation but were grateful that there was room at the bar at 8:45 pm. The service was exceptional. Our server was never intrusive and was always there when needed. He gave great recommendations. We had the Lasagna and the Gorgonzola and Walnut Gnocchi. We also tried the Strawberry Gazpacho special and the caesar salad. All were excellent. parking on the street only. We circled a couple of times before finding a place. Probably a place to leave the kids at home.

Beautiful restaurant. Excellent food. Highly recommend sitting in the garden and ordering the chef’s choice which consists of four courses served family-style. At $65 per person you get a ton of food. The presentation is stunning! For dessert you get a whole assortment of goodies. 100% get the mushroom risotto, it was the highlight of our evening.

Food:
Portion sizes are large and fair for the pricing. Food is made fresh in-house, and the seafood doesn't taste fishy at all. Even the shellfish wasn't bad, and I am not a shellfish person generally.
Atmosphere and table:
It is a very small restaurant but It's an open concept which makes it feel very spacious. There are no booths within. There are only tables and chairs. During the summertime, they have a very nice patio.
Service:
Service is excellent as you would expect in fine dining. The only con on this aspect is the popularity of the restaurant on the same day? Reservations are hard to come by. Be prepared to be planning out at least a week in advance.
On the day of your reservation, you might end up waiting for a table to leven though you made a reservation. The staff gives you 3 hours for your table/reservation before they ask you to leave. So if the table prior to you is running late, you will have to wait for them.

As the stars and the reviews show, this restaurant does not disappoint. You may even feel like you just stepped into a hidden corner trattoria in quaint town in Italy. All the dishes look amazing! My beginning antipasti to my seafood connoli was absolutely fantastic as with my ending pleasure of a creme brulee. Delicious Perfection.

Classic Italian: fresh, locally sourced ingredients,homemade everything: the pasta, the focaccia bread, the tapenade. I had the legendary puttanesca and it was delicious. The servings are generous, the servers attentive. Such a pleasant room to enjoy a lovely meal. You need a reservation…it is popular for all the right reasons.

Food on another level! My wife and I are G-F but there were plenty of options. We split a salad, an entree and dessert and it was a great plenty. The Barbbara wine was perfect. The wait staff was very knowledgeable and professional. The chocolate mousse was the best I have ever tasted!

Expensive but an amazing dining experience! The food was incredibly good and brilliantly presented. The waiter was just the right amount of attentive and did not disappoint when he was asked for recommendations. It was difficult to get in but that is simply reflective of the high demand. A definitive "special occasion" restaurant!

We came here for our birthday dinner after hearing several recommendations from locals. We made reservations the night before, but I would do it several days out of possible. Everything was so yummy! We shared a salad and main dish. The wait staff were very friendly and helpful.

Great experience here last night. While Spaghetti and meatballs isn't on the menu, they obliged and I am so thankful. Absolutely delicious! Loved that the sauce was meaty as well. My wife had the basil pesto gnocchi, and this was also fantastic, although I would struggle to eat it all because it packed such a punch of flavour. The house wine is great, much better than the usual house wine you get elsewhere. The antipasto platter is an amazing presentation, as well. Excellent service.

Just visited here for my fiance's birthday. Amazing service, our server Dan made our experience here one to remember very knowledgeable and prompt and made great suggestions for our dinner. The food was great perfect portion size and even brought out a complimentary dessert for my fiance on her birthday. Would recommend to any one looking for that exceptional dinning experience when visiting Victoria.

Great atmosphere and great service but mediocre food. The menu was very dated as if we were eating food from the 80s. This place came highly recommend to us but we felt that it was “meh”.

My husband and I went here last night for his birthday dinner, and from beginning to end, everything was amazing! The food was delicious and beautifully presented - we had the beef carpaccio, cannelloni, lamb shank, and creme brulee. Great cocktails as well! This was probably one of our top 10 meals of all time! The restaurant has such a warm and romantic atmosphere, perfect for celebrating a special occasion. Our server was so attentive and kind, and provided great wine recommendations. Can't wait to come back and experience the patio when the weather gets warmer!

This restaurant hits all the right notes. The ambience is lovely, the service is exceptional and the food outstanding. My husband and I love to come here when we want to treat ourselves to a special dinner. Tonight I had the Cioppino Livornese and it was a delicious and generous portion of seafood smothered in a marinara sauce. Yummy! We saved room for dessert because it's a must here.....creme brulee and panna cotta. Can't wait to go back!

We would have given IL Cove 5 stars had we been placed at table 15 which Nikki recommended and confirmed. The restaurant is definitely Italian fine cuisine. Warm Tuscan farmhouse ambiance. Osso Bucco was done to perfection, Cioppino very tender and probably the best sauce ever tasted for this dish. Nice touch on the birthday tiramesu. Service was attentive and unobtrusive. My sincere apologies to Nikki, she was NOT the hostess that took our reservation for our July 24th dinner. We did return tonight and where served again by the lovely Loretta at table 15. To night was a 5 star experience. Grazie!

Having visited Italy in May, we were excited to try this place to see how it would compare. It has an amazing atmosphere, impeccable service and the extra charm of our Italian server Gabriel was such a delight. The staff couldn’t have been nicer, our waiter Silvio was a gem, and our dinner was delicious. What made it extra special was having dinner in the lovely Secret Garden, complete with complementary blankets, a fountain, and twinkling lights.

My husband and I were celebrating our 21 wedding anniversary and we couldn't have done better choice to celebrate it. Il Covo is the best restaurant we have gone in Victoria ever! Everything was amazing! We booked a table two hours in advance, and when we got the restaurant we were welcomed with a glass of champagne, impeccable service, we got a very cozy place outside and amazing music, I mean Brazilian MPB songs, everything perfect!!! Very romantic for a date night, we were pleased a lot! The staff is very kind and made our experience something special! Thank you, Il Covo, for the great night!

The best way I can describe the food, is that you consider having Dinner for dessert so you can have more of what you just ate for dinner!!! But then you realize you don't want to miss the opportunity to get dessert! So you end up making reservations for 2 days later so you can have more.

Food and service were excellent until... we ordered fried calamari and shrimp. We told our waitress it wasn't that great. She was polite and asked why then sent the hostess who wanted to know what exactly wasn't right. After explaining a second time, she politely thanked us and presented the bill. There was no compensation of any kind. Perhaps a small gesture would have gone a long way. I would have so gone back except for this small issue.
