Absolutely loved everything about my meal here. Sat on the small sidewalk patio and had great, attentive service throughout. The pickled veggies were to die for, as was the chowder and the cocktail(s)!

Our dragon boat team, 25 in total, had a fantastic dinner in the Commons last Saturday, August 19th. The food was amazing and the service was over the top! A special thanks to our server Katie and Happy 3rd Birthday to Kunal and the entire Fishhook team!

I wish my stomach was a bottomless pit so I could eat every dish on the menu when I visit Fishhook.

I have been to fishhook about 10 times in the last two years. The experience has been consistently delightful. From the quality and creativity of the menu to the thoughtful and attentive service. I have a couple of favourites - the red shred cabbage salad with salmon bacon and the salmon pakoras, but the entire menu is a winner. The ambience is welcoming and the decor appropriately west coast cool. A great place to take a friend from out of town or for a nice night out on the town.

Can't say enough good things about this place. We met one of the Owners at the pool in our hotel and decided to give it a try before heading out on the ferry. We are so glad - this was one of the best meals we had on our entire vacation. Highly recommend!!!

The food is to die for ❤️ the only regret I have is that we didn't come to this restaurant until our last day, otherwise, I would have come here to eat every single day we were in Victoria

First place we ate at in Victoria, and probably the best. The seared tuna in the line and sinker salad was out of this world!

One of the best kept secrets on Fort Street and in Victoria for that matter!

I really enjoyed my dinner at the Fishhook last night. I had the chowder, which was spicy and flavorful, and not too creamy or thick. I followed it with the tuna melt, which was also Delish! I love that they use local ingredients and ocean-wise fish. (With a shout-out to Andrew at Hank's Restaurant, who suggested I try the Fishhook.)

First time here and the restaurant was full at 7pm. We were told there were more seats behind the restaurant in the backyard. We placed our order and was served rather fast despite it was full. Food were great as attachéd pictures. The briyani rice tasted great and the halibut fish was just right.

We ordered catch of the day and fish and chips. The halibut and cod were super fresh and the use of sauces were excellent. They were quite unique and super delicious. My taste buds were yelling “more” after we licked both plates clean! We'll be back for sure.

Best fusion in the city! Outstanding flavor with Indian and British influence. Biryani rice with Humboldt squid strips and Salmon was the showstopper at our table, but the seafood meatballs were phenomenal too. Sandeep brought a quiet Hong Kong sophistication and his charisma made us spend more than we wanted, for which we were rewarded tenfold. Can’t-miss selection in a city full of choices!

The restaurant is very small and very loud. The tables are very close. The bathroom was not very clean. The chairs the upholstery was ripped and needs to be replaced. Food was fresh and tasty. The servings are good size. I don't think I will be rushing back. Who knows how clean the kitchen is?

Indian-French bistro with SOUL FOOD! I.e. food that is so nourishing and full of flavour, it comforts your soul 🫰I couldn’t pick a favourite but would definitely suggest the mussels and fisherman’s chowder. Also, if you’re like my husband and are hardcore about tasting the potato flavour in fries, better to think of the fishhook poutine as a curry with fries in it - the curry is thick and luxurious and flavourful, but it was too saucy for his expectations 😂 would still recommend though, it was delicious!

Ok. Yes the chowder is different here, but in the best way! It was so flavourful without the heavy cream-like consistency. I loved their take on seafood: fusing Indian elements and using fresh local fish. The service was friendly and informative. Our waiter explained how they utilize every part of the fish to contribute to several dishes. The menu had enough options for every pallet, food restriction, and budget. The space is charming and is not meant to seat a swarm of people, which I prefer. I would highly recommend a visit!

It was wonderful soul seafood experience! I am a picky foodie from Toronto and Chowder, Shrimp toast and Salmon biryani (total 61 without tip) really made my day). 10/10!

Really, really fantastic seafood restaurant just a block off the main tourist area. The owner chatted to our table, walked us through the menu, and had a joke with us, which was lovely. I’m a huge fan of Indian flavors, and this didn’t disappoint. A good mix of Indian spices with some French technique. The chowder was awesome - light yet rich. Our table had three different mains - all were excellent, and reasonably priced for the quality. Fish Koftas were awesome. Really solid chickpea curry under it all too. Will certainly be back. Heard about the place from a locals channel on Reddit.

Waited a whole year to come back to Canada just to eat here! As a brit, I approve the Fish & Chips - delicious, fresh and served in a beautiful courtyard. Generous portions with a lovely theme of infusing Indian spices.

The very positive reviews we read about the restaurant while planning our Victoria trip had our expectations high. We had it on our to-do list on our Victoria visit. We were glad to make it there for lunch just before our return trip from Victoria. Fishhook went beyond our expectations. We had ordered the Biriyani and The Pondicherry. The flavours were unique and perfectly blended. Never before had we loved salmon so much. Looking forward to our next visit.

This place is Pacific Northwest with an Indian take on it. I absolutely love the fusion cuisine that is presented and the people here are quite kind and go above and beyond with service. The cod was cooked to perfection. Not oily at all. I had vindaloo mussels and also had a portion of seafood chowder. Flavor wise you will leave satisfied tasting all the flavors. If I come back to Victoria, this is a place I would come to.

Great Indian-inspired seafood restaurant. Everything we ordered was delicious, tons of flavour and perfectly spiced. Seafood was fresh as well. They also sent my daughter a free bowl of ice cream. Pretty small space so make sure you make reservations or get there early like we did. Would definitely go back.

Wonderful fusion of Indian and seafood. Great flavors with high quality seafood. Small neighborhood business run by people who are very friendly, patient and helpful to make sure you are happy with your food. We are working our way through their menu and have had several wonderful meals.

The food and the service were excellent. We had the mussels, Biryani, Katch of the day and the fish chowder. They were all exceptional. I recommend reserving a seat ahead. We went during peak hours so parking in Fort Street was difficult.

Great food. Loved the poutini and catch of day. Pondicherri fish was good as well. I wish I had a chance to eat inside and enjoy fresh n hot flavors instead of take to ferry

Amazing flavours and our group of seven was treated so well!! The salmon fish and chips were perfectly cooked; the spice in the biryani was just right and the squid was so tender; the ganache dessert was next level delicious. Can’t wait for our next visit!

Fantastic food. A small venue with lots of personality (they take Fishhook SERIOUSLY with the decor!), the staff are friendly and skillful with fish. We had the katch (seared white tuna with a mild sweet curry), the fish soup(just get a bowl of it, it's very light), the biryani(with a perfectly cooked piece of coho, visually, texturally, and flavorfully masterful), and the daily pickles. The pickles merit their own sentence, light appetizers that come with a smoked tuna & garlic paste that adds saltiness and just the right amount of tuna flavor to the sweetness of the various veggies (carrot, cauliflower, green beans, turnip, golden beets). My greatest disappointment was that they sold out of their vindaloo dishes before we arrived. Try the Dark matter beer and the ginger lime radler. It's a shame I don't live close enough to try everything, but the Fishhook is well worth your time and money if you're in Victoria.
