Review Pho Sate Restaurant - Vernon

Ordered Special (#10) that includes tendon and tripe. Only 1 small piece of tripe and no visible tendon. Mostly well done beef and beef balls. Takeout served with meat already in the soup so was far overdone when I got home. No basil or lime included (got a wilted/dried piece of lemon though). Not worth the price at least for takeout. Maybe dine in is a better experience. Flavour was good. Salad rolls also tasted fine but fell apart and missing shrimp. 1-2 small pieces of shrimp per roll is not worth the $9 for 3 rolls. Next time I know to order meat on the side. Not usually needed but recommend here if you get takeout.

Bomb! If you haven’t tried it here, give it a shot. Friendly service. Ordered the chicken noodle soup with shrimp spring rolls. Good size portion with tasty broth and tender shredded chicken, and lots of it. Tasted homemade with quality ingredients.

My favourite Vietnamese place in Vernon! They give you really big portions and everything is delicious and all for a good price. The Pho is so good, the wonton soup comes with noodles (it might be my favourite), the pad Thai is delicious, and I love the lemongrass chicken with vermicelli noodles.

This restaurant serves authentic Vietnamese/ Asian cuisine, very delicious and service is exceptional. The owners have been in business in Vernon for many years, great people!

Nice to be able to get out again and support the local businesses..after this crazy covid..the service was excellent and so was the food..the owner also thanked us for coming out...so make an effort to support our local restaurants..and this is one that should be on your list.

The food wasn't bad, but it was not what we expected and ordered. One dish was cold, for pho we only got less than a quarter of lime and few leafs of cilantro. We ordered pho sate, it was pretty good, but it did not tase like sate pho at all. Moreover there were no pearls in our bubble tea for which we asked. Currier was great, no complaints there.

Our family LOVES this place. The food is delicious and extremely well priced, and the staff is always super friendly. This is the perfect place for a quick lunch stop or takeout on a busy day, and it’s always nice to support a local family business.

Best pho in town. Nice people and fast service! 2nd only to Huang Gia in Kelowna. Be sure to add sate and basil to your soup. <br/>Very authentic!

Great salad roles, fast service, the owner is just a really nice guy. Not much to look at from the exterior but the best I have had in Vernon so far. Check it out you won't be disappointed.

Best wonton soup I've ever eaten in my entire life. The egg noodle wonton soup is a huge serving and the broth is perfection and there are like ten wontons in a "small" bowl and tons of noodles and it is sooooooo yummmmmyyy! I'm pretty sure it's my favourite restaurant ever. MMMMMMMMMM Also the shrimp salad rolls are really amazing too. I've actually only eaten the wonton soup and the shrimp salad rolls but they are the best ever. Also it's not expensive. It's the best!

Great place, food was good, had pork chop and pork spring rolls on vermicelli noodles.... Thought the portion was on the small side, but no biggie! Place is really clean, friendly staff, and clean kitchen.....

Came here for lunch with my dining partner. First impressions were interesting. You have to order up at the front counter and they bring the food to you. We placed our order - vegetarian spring rolls, a small rare beef pho, and a small beef sate soup, green tea and a root beer. All of this was had for about $25; reasonable. Then we went and had a seat. <br/><br/>The soups came out shortly after; followed by the spring rolls. First tastes - the beef pho was a little bland, no taste of toasted spices but the noodles were cooked well. The beef sate was a little light on flavour as well but passable. The spring rolls were nice and crispy. I enjoyed the two small dishes of dipping sauce and that each roll was cut in half. Perfect for sharing. The presentation was nice but the taste was also lacking a little. There was no discernable flavour aside from old oil. <br/><br/>Food aside, the restaurant was clean and the service was quick and very friendly. We came over the lunch hour and the other patrons seemed to enjoy their food greatly. I was underwhelmed by the average food.

Pho sate is a small family owned business with very friendly service and great food ! The soups are to die for aswell as many of the other dishes on the menu! This is a great place to dine in or take out and I highly suggest you try it

The food is great! Fresh, authentic and delicious. We had take out and enjoyed the Pork Spring Rolls, Sate Beef soup, Shrimp Vermicelli Bowl and the Chicken Curry. <br/>The decor leaves something to be desired but food makes up for it. I've never seen anyone else in the place but don't let let fool you.

Taken By The Reviews. We like to try ethnic and interesting restaurants around town. We were curious about Pho Sate as none of our friends mentioned it, but the reviews sounded great so we gave it a shot and invited friends. They had never eaten Vietnamese before. <br/>We were embarassed. The decor was bland, service by the young lady was trite, the salad rolls were small. I enjoyed my pho once it arrived half way through the others dinners, but my hubby and one of our guests said the onions in their stir fry were plentiful and pungent. Consequently, she only ate half her stir fry. There were two other tables of couples while we were there from 6:15 till closing.<br/>It wasn't horrible, but we won't go back. We'll be frequenting our favorite Vietnamese restaurant, Pho Fusion.

Delivery. Had a major craving for Pho today. Called this little restaurant & he apologized for not being able to deliver (short staffed) & kindly offered to call a delivery service for me. Order got a little confused & I recieved spring rolls instead of won tons, but I'm glad I did!!! The spring rolls were delicious & moist inside. Definately enjoyed my pho & I will definately return to this restaurant.

Fast Service. Fast service at Pho Sate. Definitely authentic Vietnamese food & real Vietnamese accent from the server. Got fresh, hot special beef noodle soup (small) with fresh Thai basil, lime, spicy peppers & bean sprouts for $8.50. Soup was good, not too salty. <br/><br/>Also ordered spring rolls too which were tasty, crispy & hot and they were $5.00 for 3 rolls. We also ordered a large bowl of pho for $9.50 which was enough for 2 ppl. <br/><br/>The bathrooms are shared with the whole building, way back through a long hallway. Clean bathrooms but the lighting & paint colours are very dark. <br/><br/>Next time I'm planning to try the curry ($11.50/$12.50) or rice bowls/vermicelli bowl combos ($9.50/$10.75/$12.00) and bubble tea($4.50). They have 6 flavors of bubble tea- taro, coconut, matcha (green tea), mango, strawberry and blueberry.

Change the name to Yummm Sate!. Excellent service for pick up or order in, very friendly and coming from a big city with alot of authentic vietnase restaurants to choose from and have only ever found one I like..Its big that I say I LOVE THIS place! Thanks to the amazing people running it, cooking and serving. I am a new regular!

Highly Recommend!. Our favourite restaurant in town! We have been a bunch of times since discovering it and it is delicious every time. I get the vermicelli bowls and my girlfriend usually gets some type of curry on rice. Lots of topping options for the vermicelli, all of it flavourful and fresh. beats the other Vietnamese restaurants in the area, the lady told me the chef used to work at pho fusion. charming little Vietnamese couple working there, and theyt are always happy to see us. food is usually pretty quick to arrive and the place is clean and well decorated.

Restaurant was simple and clean, food was delicious and affordable. Definitely will return for seconds.

Love this place!!!. Me and my sister have been vacationing in Vernon the past week and came across Pho Sate. Being spoiled by all the Vietnamese restaurants in the Bay Area, we were hoping this place would be just as good. It was perfect!!! We each had beef Pho and a bubble tea. Everything was amazing and the lady that was working was so cute and friendly! Great family business that will be successful in Vernon!! If you haven't been yet, go!

Friendly service, delicious variety of authentic Vietnamese food. Gets busy real quick. Bright atmosphere, one of our new favorites in the Okanagan. It is a walk up and order style menu. Love. So casual.
