Review Bean Scene Coffee House - Vernon

My girlfriend and I ordered a medium double double from Bean Scene about 30 minutes ago. We shared it. The coffee was strong and delicious. It's a local place so it is about 25 cents more expensive than Tim Hortons. That's a great price for a local coffee. Quick service!

Absolutely amazing experience. My partner and I arrived just at close and the two employees still made us coffee and let us explore the store a bit. Give your employees a raise! ❤️ (Thankyou so much Steve, and the lovely blonde lady that I wasn’t able to catch her name.)

My favorite coffee shop in town. The one place I can come to after a long trip around town to enjoy a good cup of coffee.

Got to Bean Scene around lunch time yesterday and crusty barista guy (probably the owner, as I understand now) got so unnecessarily rude over a simple request for precisions, after he alluded that they might close soon. I got the place recommended for its atmosphere, but this not the first time I get this weird sour attitude there, like they would prefer you to not come in at all. I got served a clumpy matcha, with this piece of plastic at the bottom of it. After that and reading some of the reviews here I will not be encouraging this business again. Also upstairs section is not heated in the winter, not sure about downstairs.

Best coffee shop ambiance with good vibes! The patio in back is worth checking out!! It's a hidden gem in Vernon. It feels like you're in Europe or narnia with all the vines and trees providing lots of shade for a well tempered pooch. They also have an upper patio. Their carrot cake is amazing. The ice coffee is a bit too fresh as the cubes are poured into hot coffee.

Great coffee, baked goods and staff are very friendly.

Vernon's oldest coffee house with a funky old decor, a backyard patio and it even has sidewalk seating. For people watching there are counters and a couple of stools on both sides of the entry so you can watch the world go by.

Good coffee. Nice patio in the back. I would come back. Chia tea was also very good. Place was busy with locals. Always a good sign. Visiting from Alberta.

Terrible service! Had to wait 5 min for a plain dark roast coffee, wasn't till I asked for it she got it, then said it's ready, I get up to get as she walks around the counter and right passed our table!!! What can't bring it to us? No apology for being slow! You suck, not coming back, and my 200 friends!

Regular customer. Their Mocha Beanaccino is excellent. Good quality, not overpriced like most other coffee shops downtown.

Great coffee but muffins were not much above Safeway baking. I'll look around in Vernon before coming back

I really wanted to like this place. Lots of good reviews had my expectations high. I thought I would try the espresso but it was not up to par. Bitter coffee and airy steamed milk. Cool atmosphere but I don't recommend anything with espresso. Guess ill have to try drip next time...

Downward Slide. I first tried Bean Scene in Vernon when I thought it was a branch of the Kelowna Bean Scenes. After the first mouthful, I decided to ask and It is NOT. Big differences. I was told the Vernon Bean Scene just gets big batched roasted coffee like most places, out of Venezuela or some such place, unlike Kelowna where they only roast small batches every three days, locally. Plus, I can get my decaf organic in Kelowna (not all certified organic, but I can live with that). And you can't beat the taste in Kelowna. I would not have written at all though, as the bakery in the Vernon Bean Scene is pretty nice, especially the bagels, BUT, the service just gets worse and worse. Last time I was there the girl first forgot my order, then got it wrong, and when she learned it was supposed to be to go she just poured it out of the cold mug where it had been waiting into the to go cup, making sure my coffee was that perfect tepid temperature. All the while I had to listen to really bad industrial rock, with flavours of death metal mixed in. That did it for me. I was not planning on stopping in that day, and now I don't plan to there in the future. There are plenty of other coffee shops in Vernon to check out.

What a lovely spot! Vernon's main street has lots of options for coffee but this place drew us in with an art display and local event posters. Bonus, gluten free greets for me including a giant, awesome ginger chocolate chip cookie. Coffee is above average and expertly prepared. Once inside I took note of this charming hidden patio out back.
