Great little breakfast/lunch restaurant. Excellent service and big hearty portions. You will not leave still feeling hungry. Great prices too, range from 8-12$ on most items. Loved it!

Great little local place for a satisfying breakfast or lunch. Good traditional breakfast choices, and good lunch menu. Staff very kind with great service.

Fantastic diner in the heart of downtown Vernon. Have dined for breakfast/ lunch several times and have never been disappointed. Breakfast special includes coffee for less than $10. Large portions with homemade hash browns, (or half and half option of sliced tomatoes), 2 eggs, 3 pieces of meat and 2 slices of toast. Also tried the burger for lunch and it was most satisfying.

Excellent farmers breakfast, plenty to eat and the daily breakfast was also enjoyed. Little tricky to find parking. Best bet on the street south of the restaurant.

We went for breakfast at Lunch Matters today after reading the many positive online reviews.  Can't say my family and I were too impressed.  Positives: central location, situated in a historic building, decent parking nearby, and good portion sizes for the money.  Negatives: the restaurant is very noisy.  The traffic noise from Highway 97 (immediately outside) adds to the noise.  Being seated at a table by the door didn't help.  By the end of our meal, my ears were ringing from the restaurant's noise.  More complaints: the service was relatively slow and indifferent.  It took a long time (30 minutes) for our food to arrive.  The food tasted OK, but nothing amazing about it.  I realize the restaurant is a family-owned small business, and I feel bad about leaving an unflattering review, but I don't think we'll go back anytime soon.  If you want the old-style 'greasy spoon' experience, this is the place for you.

Service was very slow for a not quite busy lunch. We had 40 minutes to eat there but that was not enough. Food was good though.

Best Breakfast/Lunch Shop In Vernon. Amazing food every time. We order this all the time at work as any menu item is available to take out. Smaller dinner area could be only negative.. A+ review!

I'll never come back. It's been a bit since I ate there, but I just remembered I never reviewed it and feel like I should. I'll keep it short. The food was terrible and so was the service. The waiter poured me coffee without asking, then charged me for it. I don't drink coffee. Not worth trying out.

Owned and operated by a very friendly couple, he works the front of house and her in the kitchen. Decor is nothing to write home about, pretty simple and run down in fact...but if you want an absolutely delicious breakfast, this is the place!! The omlettes are very good, especially enjoyed the ham omlette! The soup they were serving was homemade & came with a fresh baked cheese biscuit...yum!! Do not let the restaurants appearance scare you off...it's WELL worth a try!

Was skeptical--but turned out to be one of the best omelettes I've ever had. I think I just found my new favorite breakfast place!

Phenomenal little spot, great couple running it. She cooks, he serves, and together they beat the pants off every breakfast place in town in my book! Huge portions for the price, and I've yet to be disappointed in my more than 20 visits :)
