Review Red Rooster Portuguese Bbq - Vaughan

Disappointed in the quality of the food! Chicken was dry and no taste. Fries burnt and not fresh. Some of the salad was wilted! Would not recommend! Kathy Pedias

I drool everytime I'm on the way to eat here. I had a horrible dining experience at a new restaurant last night and had to come to Red Rooster today to redeem my taste buds. Chicken breast and hot sauce is to die for 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

First time trying out Red Rooster. Saw it in Skip the dish and decide to give it a try. Ordered half chicken for $8, must order a sauce which is $1.25 to go with it. After tax it’s $10.5. The portion is pretty big compare to half chicken at Nandos, but it’s pretty dry and tough (now I know why the think they sauce is mandatory). May be that is how traditional Portuguese chicken should be? I’m not sure but it’s definitely not my taste. I’ll go back to Nandos as their chicken is more juicy. Service is not bad, average but not great.

This use to be a 5 star but I guess when you become good, quality goes down.... Chicken was a little dry Rice patatoes where ok Now every Portugese chicken I go to I always get the Piri Piri sauce for free. Even red Rooster use to give it free but now they charge you

Chicken is really good. Not hot spicy but tasty. Half chicken comes with two sides, chips, potatoes, rice, Caesar or garden salad. Portion is huge. Inside the restaurant has around 7 tables and it looks clean and well kept. Dine in includes table service but the servers are abrupt but get the job done. Vegetarian options include sole or eggs. Reasonable pricing. Lots of parking. Will definitely return.

My go to spot for Portuguese food. My personal favourite is the grilled chicken cutlets. Gotta make sure you get that hot sauce because it’s incomplete without it. Will run you just below 20 bucks for a plate, but well worth it in taste and portion size.

I think the good quality has gone down since my last visit here in Feb 2021. Can’t quite put my finger on it but I can’t give them 5 stars…

This is first and foremost a takeout joint primarily but there are a few seats where you can sit and comfortably enjoy a meal. 🔹️The most popular menu item is perhaps the Chicken which they offer 2 ways - Grilled and Rotisserie. 🔹️They also serve up wings which are quite good. The menu also lists pork and seafood options, but an honourable mention goes to 🔹️The fish sandwich which has a subtle heat and complimentary tomato sauce. ✔ If you have room for dessert, don't pass up the Pasteis de Nata (Custard Tart) or the Arroz Doce (Rice Pudding) the latter of which is creamy, not too sweet, and has just the right amount of cinnamon.
