Review Aroowha Sushi And Sake Bar - Vaughan

I forgot to leave a review sooner. Ordered takeout for our dinner party a couple weeks ago. Everyone enjoyed it! I have also been here for lunch to dine-in and the service was great! Good portions (I had to take some to go). Thank you! Will be coming back for more sushi! ^^

Walked in here one day during the week after work, got a medium size sushi & maki platter, the portion is generous. Quality of fish is 4 stars considering the price, and the tempura is crispy juicy - 5 stars, service is 👍 always ask me if I need more tea or not. Recommended !

Overall the quality of the food was good. The eel still had many smaller and bigger bones which was unpleasant. Also the staff were polite but unattentive. When we finally got her attention, she said hold on and went to serve other customers. Skeptic to return.

*** update: I was there yesterday and I noticed quality has gone down significantly, I guess as a result of the new management or the new owner! Our server was super friendly but the roll I always get since 2020 was not the same. Plus annoying fruit flies 😒 . Best sushi ever! I always go there. Spicy double double and Philadelphia rolls are highly recommend, super delicious. Since I tried this place I can’t go anywhere else!

Sushi was good, had ordered a Kani maki roll. Also ordered the Yaki soba chicken dish and was super disappointed. The chicken was dry, they didn't have soba noodles so we had to pay extra for udon noodles and there was barely any sauce in the dish. Very bland and hardly any flavour. Had to stand in line to ask for extra sauce and then had to get it to go due to my husband being done by the time I got my sauce. Got it home, tried it again and just terrible. Straight to the garbage. Husband also got the bulgoki bento which also lacked sauce/flavour. I told him I would no longer join him for meals here. Given the price, one would expect flavourful food. Instead straight to the trash. Pic is after I added the extra sauce...just terrible. Used to be a much better place...

Delicious sushi and sashimi. Had the 32 piece sashimi combo. Was a little too dominated by salmon sashimi but still delicious. Also got the dynamite roll and Orangeville roll. Both good but Orangeville was the best. Really good miso soup as well.

The BEST sushi, rolls and sashimi in the GTA. Always fresh and tasty. Must try these rolls: Salmon roll, Spicy Tuna roll, Spicy Double Double roll (with salmon inside and on top!), Philadelphia roll (a very unique roll). 🥰

This has been my family's go-to sushi place! We've been ordering here for over a year now and it has never disappointed. We love their varieties in rolls, the sashimi, and they always give us extra ginger when we ask. Even my grandma, who is quite picky, loves their deep fried sushi rolls. Highly recommend trying their sushi!

Nobody should go to this more than terrible place! Service rating is big “Zero” waitress is very rude! We were there around 7, just my daughter who was 3.5 and myself! We waited for 15 or more minutes and nobody’s ever gave us little water ~~ 4 other customers came and that rude waitress seated them down after we waited for more than 20 plus some minutes! I went to the cashier, the man’s behavior was even worse, he lifted his head before I even open my mouth and told me with irrogant attitude that I could do takeout! This is the place nobody should come, because nobody should be treated in this terrible way! Please just shut down your restaurant to save customers breathe!

Great ambiance! Went with a friend and got a dragon roll, spicy salmon and sashimi rice mix. The portions are great and sashimi is fresh. I'd definitely recommend this place.

I wasn't impressed with the quality of sushi. They were falling apart. The waitress was not attentive and was serving us very slowly and we had to look for her every time we needed something. When we left little tip she asked what was wrong and we told her. She rolled her eyes and left. I was really disappointing with this place.

First time at this restaurant today!  I'm glad that I came in before 5:30pm, because they were full by 6:15!  Obviously a very popular spot for the weekend dine out in the neighborhood.  First thing I noticed outside the restaurant was they accept "credit card" sign, I absolutely refuse to go to places where they only accept cash.<br/><br/>I sat at the booth near the cashier, across from where I sat was the sushi bar.  The place was pretty clean!  The booth space where I sat was spacious!  There were 2 of us sitting at the table but you can tell it easily fits 4 or even 6.  The service was very good and very prompt!  I ordered the Salmon Teriyaki Zen let me tell you the portion is huge with california rolls, tempura, sushi and rice and I am not a small eater.  My husband ordered the Kalbi dinner and I took one and tried.  I am normally not a big meat eater but I have to say the taste was so good I had a second piece of beef rib.  Being that it was my first time there, I was not aware that they give out such generous portions!  Both dishes were very good!  The beef ribs were nicely flavored.<br/><br/>Overall this meal was very good!  Nice clean place with display showing japanese music videos, although I have no idea what they were singing but it was entertaining, and most importantly the music wasn't loud and not disturbing our dinner.  I'll definitely return to try their other offerings!

Much better than AYCE. I have been eating sushi for many years and have always been going to AYCE restaurants. Until my wife told me the $$ I spent eating AYCE isn't worth it, meaning how much can you stuff yourself anyway. Plus honestly there is a difference between the quality of food AYCE offers vs. a high class sushi restaurant. The freshness of fish is quite apparent. I am genuinely happy with the sushi I had at aroowha sushi and really enjoyed the atmosphere sitting dining in. Whether you pick this restaurant or another high class good quality sushi restaurant, you owe it to yourself to see the difference.

Not bad. Rolls are great yakisoba leaves something to be desired.

The sashimi lunch special is excellent.

From Asia Sushi. The fish was fresh, the rice texture was ok and the food took a long time to make because there was only one person who was making sushi. price was fairly reasonable though but chinatown is cheaper.

Did take out and delicious food, fresh and very colorful... I love the home made soy sauce...mmmm.... even though they made one slight error on the take out, they actually gave us options to rectify their and neither option was us to run back :-)

This is my favorite sushi place not only because it is beside my house. I love their food - always fresh and tasty. Always good service, very clean and cozy place.

Good Quality. "No AYCE option."<br/><br/>Really? Like, really? To penalise something due to it being A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THING, is laughable.<br/><br/>If you want AYCE, go waste money on the garbage quality that 90% of AYCE restaurants have. Aroowha is miles better.<br/><br/>Gyoza was excellent, hand rolls had a ton of fish (though Koganei and Momiji are still better!), and everything tasted swell.<br/><br/>They have a roll with lobster and sweet potato that is amazing; I don't care much for sweet potato (in fact, unless they are deep-fried for fries, I despise the veggie), but the lobster made this roll spectacular. I'm a bit foolish forking out the high dough at these establishments for their top, premium roll, but I can assure you that these premium rolls are worth every penny.<br/><br/>Service is great as well! Return, we shall.

Expensive. No AYCE option... it is very authentic and high quality and they are must bring the fish from Japan like a authentic high quality Japanese restaurant but it is too expensive. Only if you like to see authentic Japanese sushi.

Fresh fish. The group in charge of Aroowha understands Sushi and if you want something better than most you understand you have to pay a little more. Very fresh and tasty Mango roll.

Well worth the price premium!. By far the best sushi I've had north of Steeles. Cannot even compare it to Ginza!<br/>Besides the delicious fresh fish (large portions too), the decor and service stood out as well. Definitely will be coming back!

Super Fish. After spending much time in Palestine this last few years and residing by the sea I have come to know and demand authentic sushi. I have now found the best sushi in all of Vaughan (some would say 'Thornhill' but no such city exists).<br/>Aroowha is super clean, authentic and fresh. The owner is extremely friendly and did two quality checcks at my table personally. He even noticed my copy of Noam Chomsky's Fateful Triangle and expressed his appreciation for this author and intellectual. What do you know?<br/>The price is too cheap for such sushi.

Fresh, creative and consistent!. Fresh fish is a must if you want to truly enjoy Japanese food. This place nails it every time. We ordered take out several times and ate there with and without kids and always left very impressed. Maki are super creative although they are a bit too big to get in one bite. You really do get good value for the money. Service is always attentive without being intrusive and our requests are always accommodated. Food comes out quickly but not too quickly. When you eat in, you get to finish your meal with a fruit salad, which is on the house. There are many Japanese restaurants in Thornhill, but this one truly stands out. Give it a try on a weeknight when the place is not busy and you will want to return. I know we will.

Quality fish. After spending much time in Israel, I came to learn about high quality sushi. In Toronto there are only a few places that can match, like Blowfish located downtown. The quality of the fish at Aroowha is worth exploring. Enjoyed a sushi meal with family. Service was attentive, portions generous, and the fish of high quality. The owner visited our table, which added a nice touch to the experience.

This place is awesome! The menu is kind of the same as all the other sushi places but they put their own twists in their dishes. Presentation of sushi is absolutely beautiful, the place is spotless, awesome service, the decor is very modern..., overall I love this place. It's a bit pricey for a local sushi restaurant but it's definitely worth it!
