Review Memphis Bbq & Wicked Wings - Vaughan

This is a great bbq spot! Everything was delicious, portions were perfect, and the staff was super friendly. One of those great hole in the walls that serve up the best food. I’ll definitely stop in again. I strongly recommend this place.

DON’T FORGET SIDE GARLIC SAUCE!!! This place will forever be my favourite. All though I don’t get the chance to go back as often as I used to, I know that anytime I go there someone will remember me. If that’s not enough to get you to come back I promise you the consistency in food is really high, giving you nothing but joy every time. I’ve binged eaten out of a lot of food places in the GTA over almost 30yrs and I can proudly say this places takes the win for best overall!

Came here for lunch and tried the big boy platter (hot bbq wings and ribs) and the beef brisket sandwich. The platter was very good and the sandwich was on the average side. You can see based solely on the pictures.

We cannot get enough of this place! We have had a go at the wings, ribs and pulled BBQ. You will not be disappointed. Never have we left with that “bleh” heavy feeling. What has us going back is more than the food. The people! The service, the care and love for each and every client is what keeps us going back.

Best ribs in the area! Fries are awesome, wings are great, and the coleslaw and corn bread are really fresh too. Memphis is a must-try if you’re in the neighborhood!

Let me start off first by saying my husband and I are not new to Southern BBQ as one of us is American, however I will say this place is it for Memphis BBQ. We ordered the 6 bones combo, wings and corn bread. We drove 40 minutes to get there and it was well with it. The BBQ is on point and their fries and coleslaw are really good. I could understand why they’re so busy all the time! Right now they’re just doing takeout, no dine in even with restrictions lifted and I get it! They were very friendly when I came in to pick up my food which is a plus. The only thing that I personally didn’t enjoy as much was their cornbread. You can substitute the combo items at no extra cost which is amazing! You need to check them out if you haven’t already.

Amazing rib!! We ordered party pack 3, beef brisket and pulled pork. The portion was more than enough for us (4 adults). Everything was good but the rib was just 👍👍

I went for a blood test and spotted this bbq joint. Got the Elvis platter and I was very impressed by the quality of the food and service. The wings were quite regular but the ribs and the pulled pork were simply the best I've ever had. Incredibly smokey and juicy, the pricing was reasonable too.

Always a great stop for lunch and dinner. Friendly staff who go the extra mile in customer service. Very reasonably priced menu. Hamburger are the best in Woodbridge and their ribs, wings and pork are delicious. Their sides are exceptional. Highly recommended.

Amazing food would definitely come again. The service was amazing, everyone working there were so nice and the food came out in the perfect time and all tasted great. One of the best meals if had so far in Toronto and I 100% recommend it. Both styles of their chicken wings are outstanding, and their brisket sandwich was amazing.

! It was a 40 minute drive (rush hour) but totally worth it. I’m not a huge wings fan, but these were so damn good. We got them with “Erin” sauce on the side which is a mix of tomato-parmesan goodness. Totally recommend this place for some ridiculous wings/ribs/burgers. Located close to Humber college.

THE BEST RIBS! EVER! Its a diner styled restaurant with parking for 15-20 cars, seating for 24 people and only accept cash or debit. Yes it is that small. If you have to wait to get seated, then wait, it is worth it! They know only serve 2 things - big flavor and great hospitality. The servers and pit masters work tirelessly to deliver the ultimate lip-smacking ribs and wings experience. They are always willing to substitute stuff such as onion rings instead of fries and give you a rib or two extra. I am surprised at how generous they are, I order the big boy combo often and every time end up with 8 ribs instead of 6. I am not complaining, My wife does not even like pork and she polishes off their ribs. Don't hesitate to ask your server for whatever you need, they can even concoct off-menu wing sauces and salad dressings if you like. It is like a barbecue in your own backyard except you don't have to do the cooking or the cleaning afterwards. And prices are reasonable so much so that their party pack 5 feeds 8 ppl for 95 plus tax. Only fast food or home food can be cheaper than that. So if you are in the mood for a feast, head down over here!

1 word sums this place up in a nutshell YUMMY!!! Best ribs outside of Lousiana. Super friendly staff and great tasting food puts Baton Rouge to shame. Really, that good. Don't expect to get a table though cause the place is small and only about 5 or 6 tables there. They are so so so busy with take out though this place is da bomb for ribs and their sides are killer too.
Janny
The ribs and wings are amazing... This little hole in the wall has nothing but great ribs! They only have about 8 tables but they do tons of takeout and I would recommend the wings and ribs any day! Definitely a must try rib place but don't expect to much inside the owners are awesome and very helpful they are also very quick.

This location in particular looks like a broken down garage and I absolutely love that look as well. Memphis BBQ was the apparent original location of Big Bone BBQ but is still independently owned and operated. And while Big Bone BBQ and Wicked Wings is expanding across the GTA and making a name for itself, this spot is still kicking out some damn good Southern style BBQ.
Anthony Nalli
As one who frequently travels throughout the southern US I can tell you that Memphis BBQ is a solidly good BBQ place and one of the best in the entire city. The ribs are incredible as are the wings. Try the garlic parmesan. Only downside is that they sometimes run out of cornbread. I'd like to see them manage that better.

dre @ Islington and Hwy 7: On our way downtown, we had to run an errand which took us close to my favourite BBQ spot, Memphis BBQ in Woodbridge. We got some salt and pepper wings with onion rings, and an Elvis platter (3 bones, 1/2 lb wings - lemon pepper, 1/2lb pulled pork). We had to wait a little bit for a table, but this place is worth it!
Steven
Very good BBQ. Wings are great. A little small to eat in. They need to upgrade there space to accommodate amount of customers that this place gets.
Mathi
Amazing spot! Super busy but does not lack in customer service. Great food, love the wings and fries! Would recommend, especially in the summer!
Vanessa
Love this place for ribs and wings. Only downside is that it is always busy so it's hard go dine in. Their ribs are tender and pull off the bone. Their wings are pretty big and nicely flavored.

Wicked service that is ACCURATE. Friendly staff AND great fresh food. Have been coming here for years and will continue to support this awesome little gem.

Love this Memphis BBQ! The place itself looks like a broken down garage and I absolutely love that look as well. Memphis BBQ was the apparent original location of Big Bone BBQ but is still independently owned and operated. And while Big Bone BBQ and Wicked Wings is expanding across the GTA and making a name for itself, this spot is still kicking out some damn good Southern style BBQ.

When you have trouble deciding between ribs or wings, you do both! I ordered the mini combo which consisted of 3 bones (ribs), 1/2 lb of wings, cole slaw, baked beans, cornbread, and fries. All of this for $14. My friend Kevin S. did the Big Boy combo because he is apparently more of a man than I am (though I can't argue with the beard). The Big Boy is 6 bones and one full pound, so essentially double of the mini combo for only $20 (best value so try getting a friend to split if not hungry enough).

The ribs were nicely smoked where they had that bit of char on the outside and fell completely off the bone. I hate when people describe "fall off the bone" ribs when many don't really. These ribs here do. The bbq sauce used is hickory smoked and so sweet and tangy. The wings were merely OK. I actually thought they were better than I expected, and surprisingly had many sauce options.

Fries are incredible as they are the real crisp ones with the nice batter. The baked beans and slaw are meh. Don't care about those anyways. Not a huge fan of cornbread, but definitely pretty good with the moistness and not very dry either.

Place looks like a shack and that only adds to the intrigue of the place. Prices are fair and the food portions are enormous. The place can only hold about 20-25 people comfortably so be forewarned about bringing large groups. The wait can take a while too as this was probably my biggest problem with the place. But otherwise, good to go. Parking is out back and be careful you just don't drive by it.

How have I not reviewed this place yet!!! This place has yet to let me down. Do not underestimate their portion sizes. I've had the Elvis Platter twice. The first time, I think I ate 2/3 of it before I felt like dying. The second time, I did it in one sitting, but the drive home was super uncomfortable.

The problem is that I know I'm full and shouldn't eat more, but the body wants more.

You know this place is a gem when it's a hole in the wall and grimy AF inside, but the moment you step out of your car, and smell the BBQ smoke, everything is all good.

They should put their ribs into Ribfests, I could eat them all day everyday, and become the happiest person on earth to die of a heart attack.
Daniel A
Good BBQ. Not the best I've had, but probably some of the best you'll find in the GTA (also try The Stockyards). Try their ribs and their pulled pork! The smoked wings aren't as good as they sound though.

Party packs are a weekend favourite, like the Party Pack 3 ($65.00) which includes two racks of ribs, two pounds of wings, beans, coleslaw, cornbread, large fries and a tub of barbecue sauce—perfect for a post-game team meal or for sideline fans watching the game. And since Memphis BBQ & Wicked Wings isn't licensed, for those who want a cold pint with their BBQ, it's best to take out and enjoy the smoky hot-off-the-grill treats at home. Like their tagline says, everyone likes a nice rack, and the intoxicating scent of smoked and grilled meat may even convince vegetarians to cheat. Two words: Elvis Platter.
Definitely a good place for a smoke show.. Expect to wait 45 minutes for a seat during peak hours but once the meal is served, there's no going back.

This is why I love Mom&Pop shops!!. I've now been to Memphis BBQ 6 times...usually with my cousin, one with my friends and twice alone. Each and EVERY time I have gone my experience has been amazing! the food is delicious and smoked to perfection!

My favourite part of the experience is the head Chef (and owner) Aaron always comes over to greet the tables...as well, he takes a minute to check up on the tables and see how they are enjoying the food.

The smoked wings and Ribs always fall off the bone and have tender tasting meat. This place is my new favourite wing place! The ribs are also exceptional.

I highly recommend it! Try it for yourself and taste the difference.

What a great spot to eat in Woodbridge!. Great staff, great food, and amazing corn bread!

Best in town. Forget Baton Rouge, Swiss Chaelet asand all the other wannabees. This place is the great and the beans and corn bread are to die for.

Finger lick'n good! (and all over your face too)!. Anyone who doesn't absolutely love their ribs and chicken wings are "Stupid"! My husband and I love it! The ribs are succulent and tender and soooo tasty! They just fall off the bone and melt in your mouth!
We are having a family get-together this weekend and are ordering the Ribs and wings because they are simply the best!

We ushered in the first real spring Saturday with our first trip to Memphis BBQ. The past reviews helped us decide here for lunch. Service was good but it took a little while to get our order. However, sometimes great food is worth some waiting. We ordered the Big Boy and Elvis platters to get a chance to try the smoked wings, pulled pork and ribs. Both came with addictive fries but not so memorable slaw, beans and cornbread. The portions were worth the price, so much so that we ended up with 4 meals instead of 2 with the doggybag we took home. The ribs are meaty and fall off the bone. The wings were also meaty with great sauces to choose from. The pulled pork was very tasty and would easily make for a great sandwich too. I am not much for BBQ sauces since I find most to be a bit too sweet and rather prefer dry rubs and savory sauces. The classic sauce here is still a bit sweet but is very good on the ribs and wings with the slightest tang. We prefer our BBQ eaten on site rather than have it for take out. The place is small but on a good sunny day I can see ordering and eating by the car in the parking lot. We will definitely be back again. Worth the money and travel.

Awesome!. Now this feels like southern bbq in the heart of Woodbridge. You can touch the ceiling when you walk in and the smoked ribs are to die for! Didnt know but I found out the original owners are also the same people who started Big bone bbq.
Good job guys!

No fancy decor , no flash , no snooty staff , no bells and whistles . The food at this joint was absolutely delicious.
Having eaten in Memphis Tennessee , I was transported back as soon as I went in.
The first time we went ,Ravina , our lovely waitress is sweet , friendly and willingly shared the story of how Memphis came to be with us (virgins)
We gave her carte blanche when it came time to order and boy did she deliver . The rib and wing platter was ridiculous ! I have never tasted such mouthwatering wings and and fall off the bone ribs . The homemade the bbq sauce added that kick to enhance the meats already smokey , down south delicious flavor, wow ! Why have I never heard of this place before ? Foodies ....go check this joint out , tell them Essie sent you.

Amazing Ribs, one my favorite and wings are good .BBQ sauce Is good .
Could use renovations .

Today wa the first time I ordered from Memphis BBQ and unfortunately I did not enjoy it. We ordered the ribs and I found them to be too fatty. They seem to use side ribs instead of baby back ribs. My son enjoyed the pulled pork sandwich. I don't think I will be going back.
Andy
Unpretentious and authentic flavours. Had the Elvis platter which was a great sampler for two. Still not hungry 6 hours later. But would happily eat another platter right now.

Went here for dinner tonight... Very deceiving in looks but the food was great and the service was just as great. They have a nice Monday special. I had smoked wings. YUMMY BBQ at its finest and the price was not bad at all.

Never judge a book by its cover. I walked in not knowing what to expect and being a big fan of bbq food, and all I can say is that I was blown away!! Memphis bbq is amazing!! First itbhas a great home feeling coupled with an amazing wait staff who were very nice and helpful, which is a big plus in my books. But what takes this place overboard is there quality to food and the taste. Possibly the best meal I've ever had, ths ribs were fall off the bone, melt in your mouth with tbe perfect crispy outside from the caramlized sauce, and the wings didn't have too must dusting on them and had the perfect amount of sauce, and the pulled pork was melt in your mouth with perfect amount of sauce. The sides were phenomenal as well, perfectly crispy fries with baked beans and coleslaw. All I can say is this little gem in woodbridge puts the big boys to shame. I will definetely be coming back and will bring all my family and friends!!!

Nice place. Memphis BBQ & Wicked Wings is one of Vaughan’s bestBBQ place to be going on the future!
Mike
The food is outstanding!!!! The wait staff is good. The seating is limited. However one thing I've learned is when you go to a restaurant and people are lined up outside waiting to place an order and the tables are packed, and customers are walking out with smiles on their faces, perhaps it's worth waiting in line no matter how hungry you are. It's totally worth it every time.

Awesome. Just wanted to say that it is awesome. Backing up the "thumbs up" with an account review. Cheers.

GOOOOD BBQ. My wife and I went to Memphis BBQ today and it was very good. We had some of almost everything. Ribs, wings, pulled pork and brisket sandwich. Ribs and pulled pork were amazing. So tender and juicy with a great bbq flavour. The brisket sandwich was very tasty with a decent smoke flavor but a bit too saucy for the way I like my brisket. My wife thought the brisket sandwich was awesome. While the wings were good they weren't anything special to either of us. They were just wings. The fries were very crisp and tasty. Top notch fries imo. The coleslaw was decent or better. The beans had a nice little molasses taste. The only disappointments were the cornbread and the table service. While it was busy the waitress seemed to forget we were there. She made many trips to the dining area before we got drinks around 10 minutes later. There are only 6 tables for dine in. At times she was friendly and other times she was short and annoyed not just with us but most of the customers. Maybe a bad day or maybe it was just that this place was super busy with take out as well. We would surely go back since the food was amazing. Obviously the locals think so judging by the business they did while we were there.

Great place...I lived 2 minutes away for years....I now live 30 minutes away and still come back. Great wings great vibe and love the look and feel of the place....don't ever renovate!

Frozen Food Experts. Was REALLY excited to go here - I love southern cooking, but WOW, what a brutal disappointment.

I'd bet a lot of money that everything served here was frozen before cooking.

Ribs: They're NOT fall-off-the-bone. You have to rip and tug to pull the meat off the bone (Try Barque instead).
Wings: Breaded and, just not that great (Try Duff's instead).
Pulled Pork: Get your dry Pulled Pork here! (Try Stoney's Bread Company instead).
Fries: These had to be McCain frozen fries thrown in a deep frier.
Cornbread: There's no way this was cooked in a cast-iron skillet. Tasted more like crappy cake - fail.
Beans: Disgusting. These were definitely canned prior to opening - uhhh.

I'm pretty sure people who "Like" this place have never had good ribs, wings or pulled pork in their lives.

Urbanspoon, don't go Rotten Tomatoes on me. This place is rated 88% and it was LAME. I blew $20 - will never return.
Jma
Delicious.. The smoked wings and the bbq chicken burger are amazing. the staff is great, friendly and efficient.

Elvis, Elvis, and More Elvis!. One of my Portuguese buddies told me about Memphis one day at work, that it had the best ribs and wings, and brilliant pulled pork.

I've been there twice; the first time, I got a full rack of ribs (I'm a ribs guy, so if its recommended to me, I always have ribs), and they were DIVINE. Looking at them caused the meat to fall off the bone. Sauce was brilliant, beans and cornbread on the side brilliant, and the fries are crispy and unique; SO GOOD.

Second time we went, I had the Elvis platter (Ribs, wings, pulled pork, hence my buddy's suggestion). Ho-ly crap it was nothing short of phenomenal; the ribs are divine as I stated, but the wings are excellent as well, and the pulled pork is awesome. Fries were still superb.

My buddy always suggests to buy and take out, never to eat in; yes the restaurant area is small (seats maybe 20-24 at the most?), but if you're there for the food more than anything else (ESPECIALLY at Memphis), things such as ambience and decor are irrelevant in my opinion; if you want that, go to a fancy, romantic restaurant. You want great food, come to Memphis.
Mike Hunt.
Awesome experience. For a minute you think you're down south at a little BBQ place. Great food. Cool people running the ship. Great time. Will go again. Sunday football meals!!

Ribs are great! Picked this place off Urbanspoon mainly because I could get wings and ribs and it's fairly close to my hotel. It's not much to look at, but really good food. The wings were good, but the ribs were fantastic. One of the best I've had and I've had a lot.
Destiny
Great little place tucked in Woodbridge! The food is amazing and the is totally worth the price. If you don't want to wait you can call ahead and order before going.

What a great experience! The food was amazing! All of the staff were very friendly. I have found my new favorite BBQ spot!!

BBQ Fit for a "King". My first visit was a quick stop-in for some takeout wings and cornbread. Delicious. The next time I dropped in, we opted to eat in. The Elvis platter sounded like a little more food than I was looking for, so I went one tier lower for just ribs and wings. I did mention to the server that I wanted to come back to try the pulled pork. She took it upon herself to fill one of the dishes they serve their beans and coleslaw in with some pulled pork and surprise me with it. It's this obvious pride in their food that has brought me back time and again. I did try the Elvis Platter on my next visit, and straight home to put on a pair of stretchy pants. A LOT of food at a VERY reasonable price.

Don't blink too quick..... If you blink you may miss this hidden gem on Islington in the heart of old Woodbridge. The pulled pork sandwich baked beans and coleslaw, fresh tasty and a huge portion for under $10....Do not judge this book by it's cover, go in and give it a try!

Wonderful ribs and fries.

A fantastic breakfast. This place is amazing, and if your looking for an amazing breakfast stop by, they have these fantastic spuds and freshly baked biscuits that are to die for with an ordinary breakfast or you can have a big breakfast with pulled pork and beef brisket if your hungry and lookiing for an amazing breakfast, this is the place to be

The best smoked ribs and chicken wings anywhere period. The ribs are juicy and come right off the bone. Excellent sauces to every taste. The knock on this place it's a small place hardly any room to move. It's not the very appealing interior. Go in during the afternoon ( after 1 pm) no traffic inside or early evening before dinner time. Great food and great experience. They also have great angus burgers!

If you want BBQ - I'm talking real, authentic BBQ, check Memphis BBQ out. I was anticipating a lot, I received more. I have been wanting to try this place out for a while; the countless hours salivating over places like this on Food Network have finally been addressed. My fiancé and I had the takeout platter No. 4: Ribs, chicken wings, pulled pork w/ a huge helping of fries, baked beans, slaw and of course corn bread along with a jar of sauce large enough to keep in your fridge for weeks!. For what we paid it was well worth it. Massive portions and everything tasted incredible. If you have never tried this place you owe it to yourself to try!

Don't judge a book by it's cover. I walked in and wasn't sure of what to make out of this spot, it looked run down and gave me the feeling I was about to be let down from all the good reviews about the BBQ.

I went with the Elvis Plater it comes with ribs, wings and pulled pork(a balanced healthy diet in my eyes) for only $17. Started with a rib and with one bite all the meat fell clean off the bone and melted in my mouth. The pulled pork and wings didn't disappoint but the ribs are great.

Glad I trust all of your reviews and now I recommend anyone that hasn't been to give it a shot.

Walked Out. Small place 6 tables, was there last night and group of 8 (4 7yr olds and "parents"). The kids were so loud the adults solution they spoke louder. The Table beside us were complaining, we commented to the owner that it needed to be dealt with. The dazed look was actually funny, seems that telling the rowdy patrons once for him was enough. I was better for the restaurant to have "regulars" walk out then to take a stand on the situation. The food is amazing but management isn't if you want to dine in zoo, go for it.
Adriano Rucchetta
Great BBQ. Love the Elvis platter with smoked wings ribs and pulled pork. Worth the drive and worth the wait. Just look at the trophys on the wall you know the food is good.
Roxanna
Yum! Great ribs.....perfect smokiness and so juicy! The BBQ sauce is perfect for my taste. Not too sweet and has a good tang. Wings were really good too, but I really want to try their smoked wings the next time I order take from there. We didn't like the pulled pork, it was a little dry and using extra sauce didn't save it. Good value too as the portions are generous.
Iluvfood
Really liked it. Space isn't that great, recommend take out. All the meat was good, a bit disappointed with the pulled pork but other than that I highly recommend.

Met all expectations. On the outside it looks like a dive. But having had authentic southern BBQ throughout Texas and Tennessee I recognize that all the good BBQ joints do. I had the Elvis platter in an attempt to try everything on my first visit. This came with sauced ribs, wings, pulled pork, fries, slaw, and cornbread for under $20. That's a remarkable deal. You could easily eat well here for around $10-15.

The only problem was that all the meats were great, moist and perfectly sauced and cooked. Which means that the next time I go it will be a hard decision to make! The only thing I'd improve on is the corn bread (it wasn't bad - just room for improvement.

Ive eaten at 3 of the top 5 ranked BBQ places in North America and I will return to here in a heart beat. That should be recommendation enough.

I prefer Southern RUB, but still good. I like this place but only ever visit on Monday nights when they have their $25 special. And always for take-out. It's a good bargain for $25 where you get a full rack of ribs, a pound of wings (ask for them smoked), and a large fries or salad (both are pretty awful)

If it is not on a Monday night though, when there are no deals to be had, I'd much rather just go 3 minutes up the road to Southern RUB instead, whos sides are 10000x better and ribs are at least as good (and I like them more). Also way better brisket & pulled pork at RUB, in my opinion
Bobby
Awesome BBQ. Definetly great BBQ ! This place is authentic, not like some of the pretenders trying to copy them.
The waitress there Maria..she rocks !! She's as tasty as the ribs.

Best Ribs. Hands down. My favourite ribs.

Went here with some coworkers one day and even had it 3 weeks in a row. Wings are awesome especially the jerk sauce which has just the right amount of kick. The ribs are amazing as well and the big boy combo is enough to feed 2.5 people. Wish the place was a little bigger but the quality of the food makes up for it big time.

Ribs and Chicken. I took my boyfriend for ribs and wings for his birthday. I think the bill was about 25(?). We had a rack of ribs, pound of wings, and it came with slaw, beans, and corn bread. It was too much and we weren't even able to finish. But what a fabulous feast. I recommend to those who love ribs.
Anthony
It is one of the best BBQ places every itcould use a little clean but the food is soooooo good the wings are the best

Messy and Delicious. This is my favorite rib and wing place. The signature BBQ sauce is great along with other smokey flavours. Others to try are cajan and golden thai. The service is always friendly and quick. The prices are affordable and they have take out and catering. The dine-in room is a little small but perfect for a quick bite. Definetely worth the drive! :)

This is a tiny place if you are eating in so usually i take out but the food is amazing! If you dig BBQ this is the place to go!

Excellent food. The guys at Memphis BBQ make excellent ribs and wings. They're probably the friendliest 'mom and pop' place in Woodbridge. The dinning room is a tad small but it'll do. A dish worth mentioning? The pulled pork... nothing in Vaughan comes close.
Doreen
When we arrived, the place was very dive-y, located just beside a convenient store with nothing else around. The place was hustling when we entered with the cooks just a few feet away and tons of steam coming from the meat, it smelled heavenly. It was a bit crowded when we were all standing there looking at what to order on their take-out menu, but we just decided to get one of their Party Packs listed on the wall. Split between 8 of us, it came out to be $12 each.

Memphis BBQ is a perfect spot for a down to earth date. (Maybe not for the first one!)

Big Bone Combo ($20) includes 1/2 rack of ribs, 1 lb wings (smoked one recommended), fries, coleslaw and much more. Great to share or just to finish that alone and feel busting full.

What more down to earth than using your hands, licking your fingers and eating meat in a trailer like dining area.

Huge TV showing Food Network, so if your date is boring, you can always just watch the show.

BTW, the poor ventilation in the "trailer" might make you smell smokey and meaty after. But that's much better than the cologne some of my cheap dates been using.

Cash or Debit Only. Hope my date has Cash on him?!
