A decent tiny Taiwanese restaurant. There is not much to choose from. Their Beef noddles were tasty. Deep fried tofu is crispy on the outside and really soft inside. The 3-cup chicken was good. The only thing I did not like is that the veggies were cold.
Tony's is a little hole on the wall that serves mainly Taiwanese noodles, but also has other Asian fair. The main reason for the 4.0 rating is the quick service. You can easily be in and out in under 20 minutes if you order noodles. If an item does take long they'll let you know. The quality of the food is above mediocre, but you can't expect great ambiance or the best service. Overall it's a great place to grab a quick bite in the Oakridge area.
fetching my friend from airport then she recommended this place, i would say the beef noodle is quite decent, and the price is at a great cheap price. for that i'll say that the beef noodle soup taste great.
the broth is well made and definitely not watered down. it tasted pretty good with the suan cai (chinese pickled veggies) reminds me the original taiwanese taiwan noodle soup, however all beef noodle soup are quite decent for most of the places that i've went. and this one considered to be at the slightly above the average i'll say.
for this i'll say i'll recommend the place, great place to dine, near from the skytrain, and the place is okay i'll say can fit around 40 - 50 people i think. will definitely come back here again someday if the time is right :)
Didn't even know this place existed until I saw it across the street from oakridge. Small place that can maybe fit around 30 ppl? I had the beef noodle in soup, the beef and the soup was really good. However, the noodles were a bit soft for my liking. I also has the crispy salty peppery chicken, very tasty.
Gooood. Simple menu with the obvious choices. I had the salty chicen beef noodle soup. The beef broth is good, the thick noodles are good as well. The salty and peppery deep fried chicken on the side was very good as well, and all for 7 bucks.
One of the best Taiwanese beef noodle place ever! Their beef broth is actually made out of real beef, not like other Taiwanese restaurants with soy sauce in their broth. Their thick noodles are cooked to profession. I am glad that my coworkers recommended this place after having such a bad time at the other Taiwanese place near this area. There is a minimum charge which is understandable because everything on their menu is under $10. Love this place!
My favourite beef noodle place. I've been frequenting this place for the past, I think, 7-8 years. I've tried a lot of beef noodle places, but this is hands down my favourite. I don't know what is 'authentic' Taiwanese beef noodle, but this place's beef noodle is definitely very tasty. First, the noodle -- gives you a choice of thin/thick and I usually order thick. It is always of the right chewiness/texture, without being too mushy/soft. Second, the soup -- good strong beefy taste mixed with the sour pickled veggies sprinkled on top. Finally, the beef -- perfect part of the beef (I think it's the shin?) where there's a mix of meat and tendon. I usually order the large. The potstickers are good with the garlic sauce..but I find it too greasy one time (bottom of the plate was full of oil). I usually just go for the noodles when I'm here and that pretty much gets me full. Pricing-wise..I would say it's pretty reasonable, maybe even on the cheaper side compared to some noodle places
We had high expectations for the food, especially after walking in and seeing the dingy interior and spartan decor. Well, we weren't disappointed. Both the dry tofu appetizer and spicy beef noodle soup were delicious. Together with the speedy service and reasonable prices, we can see why they are usually packed at lunch and dinner time.
Garlic sauce.... Good honest food. The prices are good. I liked the beef noodle soup, but I wish it had a little more beef for its size. But the best part is the potstickers with a garlicky soy sauce that you'll taste for hours after.
The beef noodles here at Tony’s really make for a great meal and the service here was pleasant, the food: prompt.
