This place is an interesting fusion between traditional western food and Asian food. The waffle sandwiches are great, but the sushi rolls is where it gets interesting. Fish and chip roll, oyster motoyaki roll, emperor Caesar roll, duck confit roll and the baja roll (with avocado tempura). I have attached their menu (April 26, 2015) if anyone wants to peek which is different then the one I saw online. Oyster motoyaki roll was amazing, though I will probably ask for less mayo on it next time (not a huge mayo fan).
Thanks to Instagram foodie and food blogger, Jacqueline (Check out her blog here), I got to visit the new rebranded Miura Restaurant and Bar with some other foodies. It was formerly known as Miura Waffle and Milk Bar. They were also featured on You Gotta Eat Here! Don’t worry they still have some of their famous waffle sandwiches on the menu! As a restaurant and bar, they serve appies and entrees that are more izakaya style. Of course there are also alcoholic beverages.
Miura’s story began in 2010 when Dennis and Jenny Muira started Miura Waffle Milk Bar in Downtown Vancouver. They quickly became a must-try eatery with their signature Waffle Sandos, a delicious Asian-inspired waffle sandwich that left diners lingering for more. The Waffle Sandos was so good that it was even featured on the Food Network’s “You Gotta Eat Here!” Now in their Mount Pleasant location, Miura is offering an exciting new menu with inspiring eats that extends beyonds waffles.
With a new and expanded space on Main Street and being featured on Food Network’s “You Gotta Eat Here”, formerly called “Miura Waffle and Milk Bar”, they have now “grown up”, rebranding themselves as “Miura Restaurant and Bar,” serving cocktails and offering an array of Japanese and Korean inspired dishes and appetizers.
Totally loving the menu update, the Salmon Poke was pretty creamy with the inclusion of avocado bits, the Oyster Motoyaki Roll was juicy and flavorful, and the GFC (garlic fried chicken) waffle sandwich is a classic, with the waffles being super fluffy and soft. The Charshu Pork taco was very tasty and the pork had just the right balance of lean and fat
The Emperor Cesar Roll (with GFC) was a bit of a let down in my opinion, because the flavor profile was just kind of boring.
The desserts are all made in-house, so they are definitely worth checking out if you have a sweet tooth.

Clean and simple, one of the best places to go if you want to eat waffles. Great if you want to just get a quick eat and are in a hurry. Also serve other things ie sandwiches (try the bulgogi sando) and bubble tea is also good if you are into that.
Featured on Dine With Me Vancouver, Miura catapulted in popularity. Formally a small little hut, Miura now proudly sits on 2521 Main St.
Taste: it's something special. The first bite says it all: it's got something special and magical. But do consider that it is fairly filling for its size. Especially because of the protein. After the first waffle, I was already satisfied. Pushing myself though, I ate the second one and that was a mistake. Overeating tends to dull out the flavour, so my second waffle tasted substantially less delicious. It got very overwhelming and tough to swallow. But although I overate, I wasn't left in a state of food coma, so that was pleasant.
I had a craving for waffles so decided to visit Miura. The waffles were made to order and had a crispy exterior with a soft interior. The deep fried chicken was perfect - good flavour, nice light crunch on the skain, juicy inside and not greasy. Beasley thought the chicken portion could have been bigger for the large waffle size. I found the sauce a little heavy so had to remove some of the excess terimayo to preserve the waffle crunch. The waffles come with an option of fries, salad or soup. The potato miso soup was nice touch. The ventilation was on but the place still had a air of deep fried oils. I would recommend coming here if you have a hankering for thick waffles with a de-light-ful crunch.
I can't wait to try other orders. These waffle sandwiches are innovative, and their like an upgraded sandwich. The waffles are lightly sweetened, which I think adds something special to whatever you order (dessert or savory).
I had the fluffy cloud twice on a recent week in Vancouver. It was absolutely delicious. Amazing interplay of hot cold, crispy creamy, sweet and a tiny bit savoury with the cheesecake mousse. It was a perfect dessert. I'd have loved to try the sandos, especially chicken karaage. Maybe next time. Kind, patient service. Just a gem.

I enjoy sweet waffles. I enjoy chicken regularly. The idea of savory waffle doesn't appeal to me, and I feel the same way about chicken & waffles as I do about chicken on pizza - it's weird and not for me. That said, I am always open to trying new things and this venue is definitely one of a kind in Vancouver.
So in this place they make sandwiches where the bread is a waffle. They call them "sandos." Weird, right? I have been in this establishment three times as of this writing and tried something new each time. I've had the bananarama, the BLT and most recently the hoisin. Of the three I actually liked the hoisin best - it was like a Vietnamese sub with a waffle. I think they forgot to put the pork sausage on my sando but I actually didn't care - it was quite good the way it came.
They also have milkshakes and yogurt drinks, with the option of adding booze! Recently (to my knowledge) they added the option of adding pearls and coconut jelly to the drinks. As a bubble tea connoisseur I was very excited about this. I kind of love this place and will be coming back to try more stuff off the menu.
Service was friendly enough and fairly prompt.
Biggest Rave: The chocolate wasabi milkshake is amazing. Make it a bubble tea and you've stolen my heart forever!
Biggest Rant: Sign says "NO PUBLIC WASHROOM" but there is a washroom, and I used it. It was awkward to get into and when I turned on the light it strobed so intensely I actually had to close my eyes while I peed. It was like a very tiny rave without the other good stuff.
Something I liked: their creativity with the menu. I really enjoyed my wasabi salmon waffle sandwich.
To improve on: when I went they didn't have any utensils. I get that it's a 'sandwich' shop, but still, it's a waffle and it gets soggy, I would like a fork please. Hopefully that has changed.
Would I come back: no

As Miura Waffle Milk Bar’s 5th year anniversary is fast approaching, here are three reasons why you should visit Miura this coming Monday.
The waffle was just the right golden brown with the perfect crunch on the outside and a soft, fluffy inside. I got the cheesecake "sando" for $6.99 plus tax (so $7.30). The cream sandwiched between the waffles was a good mix of sweet and tangy. It reminded me a bit of a warm, creamy yogurt. The price is a bit steep (for me at least) for the amount you get but I enjoyed what I got.
Prepare to use your hands because there are no knives or forks. They do provide table napkins.
Good. We'd been looking forward to this: I had the ginger chicken and my sweetie had the garlic chicken (GFC). Mine was ok but not balanced: too much waffle and the chicken filling would have benefited from some zing. My sweetie really enjoyed her GFC and is interested in maybe returning and adding hot sauce...so, we'll see...we both enjoyed the fried nori chips.
Something different and new to try... Well, it's an okay for me... Not very outstanding...
Good and bad. I liked the taste of the garlic fried chicken but could have used more chicken to make it worth the $8 or so. The waffle was nice n fluffy. I enjoyed eating half of the waffle on its own. A big problem is that they do not offer utensils. I usually use a fork and knife when eating out, but they have no fork.
I also tried the bulgogi waffle, but preferred the garlic fried chicken one.
Savoury Sandos really tasty. First time try Sando and the Savoury Sandos looks more attractive to us. We order Wasabi Salmon and Kanchan Karaage and they both very good! Really love the crispy waffle with the ingredients!
Meh. Had the mushroom waffle, the blt and tiramisu.. the mushroom was alright.. the blt was pretty good and the tiramisu sucked..

Shared the bec and the garlic chicken with my girlfriend. the waffle wasnt crispy at all but that didnt bother me. the chicken could have been cooked more as well but overall it was tasty. i will ve going back.

Fresh sweet and savoury waffles that are bursting with flavour! Their sauces are so creative as well and compliments the waffle fillings. Mmm...kimchi ketchup with a BLT waffle! Who would've thought? I also love their blackberry yoggy milk! The service is always friendly and helpful. One of my favourite places to go in Yaletown.
Savory Waffles!. Had the Bulgogi waffle. Well-marinated, sweet and a kick of spice from Kimchee. Really delicious. Shared the Tiramisu Waffle... meh. The waffle because soggy and just wasn't tasty overall. I would try the other savory waffles again. Also, waffles have no taste either.

Very good waffle sandos!. We were already quite full when we came into this place to meet a friend but we wanted to try their waffles still.
As we walked in on a Sunday afternoon, the place was pretty packed already. We decided to order savoury waffles since we don't usually find this in other places. We share the Bulgogi sando (with kimchi on the side instead of inside the sandwich) and our friend settled on the BLT sando.
Bulgogi sando was really good. We enjoyed the sauce in it and it compliments the beef and egg very well. The waffle itself was also quite tasty. It wasn't too hard and it wasn't too soft. Our friend said she enjoyed her BLT sando as well.
Service here was good. Although we didn't order much, the waitress was still attentive and helpful.
Next time we will try their sweet waffles and we will prob. order the bulgogi sando again too!
Bacon. Laced. Waffle. Yum!. Yummy bacon waffle topped with egg, lovely classical music playing in the background (rare!) and the owner who was making the waffles is a very genuine people person and gentleman. The cashier/waitress was attentive and sweet. I will definitely go back and I encourage everyone to go here!
Friendly atmosphere. Love the comfy setting and warm smiles that greet you as you walk in. Small menu, some offerings too quirky for my taste. Love the simple stuff--BLT,cookies and cream, fruit and cream. The marinated salmon and wasabi mayo one tasted wrong.
Surprisingly yummy. I was taken out to lunch here today and, although I was skeptical at the outset since I am not usually a waffle lover or sandwich lover, I was pleasantly surprised. I had the Veggie waffle which was plain and simple, yet yummy. The waffle was not too sweet and was light and fluffy, so it acted well as sandwich "bread".

Discovered this little gem this morning and I'll be eating these waffles for as long as I live downtown, or by a waffle maker of my own, which isn't in the near future based on my visit here. Finally a waffle place in Van. Well played Miura...well played...
Love the waffles!. Quite a cool little place to go for lunch or dessert! We tried the Ham, Cheese, and Mushroom (HCM on the menu) and the Banana Caramel waffles, and both were very tasty. The prices were very reasonable and the portions were quite filling.
Unique, quaint and tasty!!. I'd read a few reviews and couldn't wait to try this place out. The unique concept combined with atypical sandwich toppings piqued my interest.
The sweet scent of waffle met me walking up the street. Inside it's small, but clean and tidy. I had expected a few more topping options, but still felt there was good selection.
I had the Bulgogi Sando (their specialty) and a mango milk. The mango milk was great - good flavor, thin and not too sweet. The Bulgogi sando was hot and crispy, and had a good mix of texture. I was a little surprised by the egg salad like mixture on it, but it worked for me. The waffle itself was fairly thin and made eating it easier than I had imagined.
Service was very friendly. Prices, very reasonable.
I can't wait to go back and try out the other flavors! Definitely recommend!
Delicious!!!. I can't say enough good things about this place! I go there at least once a week and can literally have it for breakfast, lunch or dinner! I've tried most of the waffles, I would say egg and bacon is my favorite followed by fruit and cream (which is fabulous homemade cream) trust me, you will not go wrong here but be carefully, you're sure to become addicted =)
Good stuff. We had the sweet cream + fruit as well as one of the savory waffles. They were all very good - if I was staying in Vancouver again will definitely visit again. The prices are reasonable @ around $7 a person if you get a drink and waffle each.

Strawberry well matched with their homemade pastry cream.
Waffle outside is crispy and fluffy inside. The combinations is awesome.

My friend wanted to try it after seeing it on You Got To Eat Here!. Since I love ‘interesting’ food combinations (like chocolate with rice), the idea of a waffle sandwich seemed intriguingly delicious, so I agreed to go with her...
Not too long ago I was invited to Miura Waffle + Milk Bar for their grand re-opening media night. A few other bloggers and reviewers were invited to this event as well. We were invited to try out all their waffle sandwiches and a few of their drinks. Upon receiving such an invitation of course I was delighted to go! I decided to bring Raven along with me as well because we are oh so similar and share a love of food. I also love this waffle bar because everything they use on their sandwiches is housemade and to me, anywhere that makes everything in house is special because it truly means there’s NOTHING like it out there.
...we ordered the bulgolgi waffle! It gets even more amazing after that, the way they make their waffles are extremely unique; they cooked the marinated beef between the waffle batter so that it was cooked into the waffle! I thought this waffle making method was absolutely genius.
Overall, my experience with Miura was very good. It was a small restaurant but there was definitely continued traffic coming in and out.
I have never had a bad experience here, the service is always friendly and sweet while the food never disappoints. They offer savoury and sweet waffles, and they deliver their promise well. The food is delicious! If I had to rate this little shop, I’d give it 100% every single time
There was a Sweet Corn and Vanilla Ice Cream Milkshake. It tasted surprisingly good because it was sweet from the ice cream and the corn also tasted sweet and gave you something to chew on.
The inside of my sandwich was full of kimchi and egg while the bulgogi was actually cooked with the waffles! It was a super tasty sandwich but the only slight downfall was that I found the bulgogi to be dry and lacking in flavour despite the bulgogi sauce they used.
Waffles here are one of a kind! Good atmosphere, ideal for coffee chats and relaxing
I like to eat kimchi *-*. This was some time ago so I don’t remember the taste exactly, but for sure the waffle was fluffy and tasty. I probably could’ve had it alone. Although it was a savoury sando, I think the waffle was still on the sweet side. It was cool how the beef was sandwiched between the single layer of waffle! Mmmm, I wanted more!

They are apparently family owned and operated, and upon entering, we were greeted by a very friendly waitress. I believe they are Japanese owned. They basically offer both savoury and sweet "waffle sandos," which basically means waffle sandwiches in Japanese. They also specialize in flavoured milks and drinks, which I never got a chance to try. I did a little digging on their site and found that they have flavoured milks and yoggy milks. It's pretty cool since they actually have milk that are flavoured with real fruits and juices, and the yoggy milk are yogurty milk drinks that are thicker than plain milk. Overall Miura Waffle Milk Bar is really cute and they have lots of unique but delicious things on the menu. It’s a great place for lunch especially when you have those afternoon breakfast food cravings.

Every vegetable was very crisp and fresh. Absolutely delicious. The BEC was also very good, perfect for breakfast! Most importantly, the waffle was heavenly -- super light and fluffy with a hint of sweetness.
With my first timid bite into the waffle, I was pleasantly persuaded. The flavor combination of the subtle kimchi, mayo and seasoned beef hit the spot. For those who cannot take spice the kimchi was very subtle
Miura has revitalized their menu a bit for their new location, keeping favorites but tinkering with some of the recipes. Their new location is just off of Broadway on Main St, beside the easily recognizable Kafka's Café and is readily accessible by transit. If you drive, take one of the side roads to hunt for a parking spot. They've kept their previous theme of being a place to grab a quick bite to eat, with a modern café décor, bar stools along the walls and windows, and a self-serve carafe of water by the cashier. And judging by how quickly we were served the different waffle samplers, they're ready for hordes of hungry Mt Pleasant crowds.
I had a H.E.C. savoury waffle sando, a breakfast style waffle sandwich with ham, egg omelette, and mozzarella cheese. It was a solid, tasty, and hearty meal served neat and cleanly.
Bulgogi Sando is their top flavour for savoury sandwiches apparently. It has beef, egg sauce, kimchi & bulgogi sauce in side the waffle. my coworker liked it but it was a tad messy to eat. You eat it like a normal sandwich with no forks or knives.
