cash only *** grilled chicken wings are tasted so good. I also like the grilled pork chop on rice with steam egg. Plus the price is really reasonable. All these elements added up, it is a great lunch place.
Their pork chop was pretty tasty better than your average nammer restaurant definitely. It was juicy with a bit of char. Their marinade was savoury with highlights of sweet almost honeyish. Would go back just for the pork chop
Good value, quick and relatively large portions. I usually get #11, or #48-50 chicken rice plates. For
I came here several times and I normally ordered the bun bo hue and I like the taste here. The food is very authentic and tastes delicious. The restaurant is always busy everytime we come here but it's one of the better Vietnamese restaurants in Vancouver. The customer service is also better than most Vietnamese restaurants. The price is cheap for the portion.
Went here as a comparison to Pho Linh. Some of the Zomato reviews claimed one was better than the other so I thought I would find out for myself.
I ordered a #3 large. Absolutely delicious! Broth was hot and flavourful with a ton of meat in it. Others around me were having spicy pho. Lots of Asians in this place so you know it's legit. This place beats Pho Linh hands down in my book.
Note: this is a cash only place. Some of the best noodle houses are.
Despite being extremely busy during a weekday lunch hour, the staff are well organised and food churned out from the kitchen is very quick and fresh.
I'd say above average Vietnamese pho, and will definitely come again given its good value for quality.
Very good. The soup was hot. The rare beef was fresh. Better than some of the other Thai Son's in town.
Parking is metered on the street as limited space at back.
Definitely come back when in neighbourhood.

The 4.5 is just for the pork chop rice (number 44 on the menu) this might be the closes to comfort food that's not home cooking for me. Go here enough and they will remember that you want to order before you even sit down. I love going here. Great price for a filling meal
Since I was pretty hungry - I ordered a large pho - which was a bad decision LOL! I saw the small pho and I was like "Pftt, that's so small, I can totally finish a large one!!" ...yea that didn't happen LOL! After polishing off the spring rolls I couldn't down another bite! So I ended up packing half of it home! Ordering spring rolls probably wasn't the best idea because I my mouth was sore, but I just couldn't resist hehe. I can never turn down fried food!! ;)
Fresh ingredients. Reasonable prices.. Good, fresh meat + rice platters and their house pho has a good variety of meat. Typical pho restaurant service is the only thing I don't like about the place. Don't throw those dishes at us, bro :(
Thank God They are BACK!. Hurrah Thai Son is back! Good Pho!
Urban development by fire?. It's a shame this pho house went up in pho-lames. My first time eating there was on a snowy day in Winter 2009 not long after we immigrated to Vancouver. I got takeaway pho and Viet pork chops, then walked all those containers back while wearing my new heavy winter boots,. My wife and I had a Viet feast in our cramped "basement suite". It was pho cozy eating Thai Son's soup that day.
We've lived in Vancouver three years now, and there have been three fires in the Kingsway/Main/Broadway junction that wiped out low-rise, low-profit retail shops. After the first two fires around there, the small shops got replaced with large, profitable apartment towers. Let's see what fills Thai Son's slot. Because if it's three-for-three, I'd sense a pattern. And a motive.
Pho-nomenal. Good vietnamese cuisine here. traditional vietnamese dishes....lemon grass pork chop with broken rice and fried egg, pho, etc. only drawback is that it's located in a skechy area so afraid of parking too far from the restaurant.
Usually get their salad rolls (a combo of both shrimp and some kind of mystery meat!) which are a perfect lunch. Love the cilantro, but wish they didn't add mint...
My Fav Pho Spot. Pho is great. Other dishes are worth trying as well.
Lastly we shared the Lemongrass Chicken with Egg . The portion was really big and the chicken was tender and flavourful. There was also plenty of rice too so you will be full for sure. Good food and CHEAP. It also made the “fastest lunch I’ve ever had” list.
I ate grilled pork chops. And I had a lemonade. I think it had too much onion, and too much pork fat. The people are very nice, I will go there again and get my regular pho!
