This place takes cash only. We came here for a quick lunch. There is a reasonable selection of noodles. I tried the chicken ball with vegetables. For the price, you get a pretty large bowl, although there is more soup than noodles. Taste-wise, it is reasonable and the soup is not too salty.
Best Value in West Point Grey. The lemon grass chicken is the best. Two wide pieces of chicken steak, huge volume of rice, healthy salad.....what more can you ask for? All under $10 bucks!!!
Sometimes you just have to accept that you can't always find a restaurant that has good food, decor and service all at a good price. We're a little bit spoiled in Vancouver in that often we can get all of the above. Walking into Gold Train Express, it was clear that decor was the big loser. Fortunately, price and food were more than adequate, and the service, while perfunctory, was efficient.
Worth checking out. We use to bus out from UBC all the time when craving pho, and it has become my favorite place around school. They don't put cilantro in their soup, which I like (I don't like the taste of cilantro). Their soup is good, relatively low msg level compare to other places. Their price is also pretty good, they have this extra large option that is literally a size of a basin that you can dunk your face it, and it's only about $7-8.
However, in terms of cleanliness, it's not that great. They also have this unidentified blob (look like vanilla ice cream) stuck on the ceiling. My friends and I always feared that it would drop anytime.
Overall, this place is great if you are looking for cheap and delicious pho.
the sweetness and the flavor is just right, and with the help of Sriracha, your mouth is about to experience some real shiznit when you drink the soup, or when you bite the beef brisket/meatball.
I think their spring rolls are delicious … tinged yellow from the hot oil (this is probably a bad sign) but so crispy and flavourful … I can't help but loving them.
Convenience. And no, I’m not talking about those stores you find in your neighborhood that sell junk food to the masses. Rather, I’m referencing it as a factor that I think some people, including myself, take into account when deciding on a place to eat.
