It seems like everywhere you go nowadays, Chinese restaurants are offering lobster sticky rice. If you’ve never had this before, it’s exactly what it sounds like… a big serving of sticky rice with lobster. Sticky rice is a serious comfort food and lobster just kicks up the luxuriousness of it all.

Yummy and a good value about $26 person including tip, no alcohol. By the way restaurant did open 5:00pm not 4:30pm to avoid disappointment.

I’m about to give you a massive tip! If you enjoy the iconic Chinese Lobster Sticky Rice, you probably know it’s usually pretty expensive and it’s hard to order it if you don’t have enough people. Well, I found the restaurant that provides the best value and taste for this delicious and scrumptious dish!! Just keep on reading. 🙂

The peking duck was satisfying as it always is and served on a bed of house made shrimp chips, which were crunch and addictive. The skin was very crispy and served with small pieces of duck meat. Duck Lettuce Wrap. Duck lettuce wraps always taste better than the regular chicken or beef versions because the meat is more tender and fatty.

Overall the dishes were quite good, and my favs were highlighted on the website. I like that the restaurant offers a few items that are not commonly found in HK style restaurants. I would recommend getting the House Special Spicy Clams, Lobster with Sticky Rice in Lotus Leaf and XO Salted Egg Yolk Crab.

My girlfriend had a long day at work. I wanted to reward her with some comfort food. I checked up zomato and foodology had rated this place high, so I gave it a shot.

Upon entering wow, you wouldn't think the interior is up to date. The only downside is that there is no air-conditioning and just fans blowing inside. The menus have a great selection of seafood, specials in-house, and chef specialties. Price are on a touch of a high side from 12ish to 16ish for side dishes. Higher for the lobster sticky rice for 55 bucks or so but boy it's worth it and it's huge.

Service is very friendly. We ordered the clams, crispy skin chicken, and the scallop and prawn veggies. Our server informed us that we have complementary soup to start and dessert later. Awsome! Clams come first, wow we were blown away! I could eat these all day! This is a must order dish if your a seafood lover. Then the crispy skin chicken comes, done to high standards, delicious. Finally the scallop and prawn veggies, it's beautiful. Fresh snow peas and celery, perfectly cooked scallops, amazingly well prepped prawns. Alot of places don't clean the prawns properly, but they do. Dessert is the bean soup, done to standard. Good kung-fu in the kitchen. The chefs here have very good standards and are talented. We were blown away. I'll definitely come back for more dishes. Gotta try this place ppl. They also just won a award for best rice clay pot this year.

Golden Eats Seafood Restaurant is located on Kingsway close to Victoria Drive. They have been around for 2 years and I was surprised it was so clean and modern. ChineseBites took us here to try a few of the signature items on their menu. We started off the meal with their daily special soup with some veggies and meat. Once it arrived at the table, they helped us scoop it into each individual bowl.

Golden Eats Seafood Restaurant is located on Kingsway close to Victoria Drive. They have been around for 2 years and I was surprised it was so clean and modern.

Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by Golden Eats Seafood Restaurant, I would come back here again. I wasn't too into the hot pots or the spareribs, but everything else was really good.

As we had a ChineseBites event at the new dessert spot a block away, ChineseBites decided we should do a double event and organized a dinner beforehand. Along with Sherman, Rick, Grace, Joyce, Jacqueline, Laurie, Nancy, Amy and Diana , we headed to Golden Eats. The outside and even the interior didn’t really get me too interested to be honest. I sort of had low expectations going in for some reason, but as cliche as it sounds, don’t trust a book by it’s cover! We all left happy by the end of our meal that night.

佳坊海鮮食館 Golden Eats Seafood Restaurant Vancouver located on 2141 Kingsway near Victoria (and a block away from 17°C Dessert). This neighbourhood Chinese Restaurant has been only around two years even tho one would assume it’s been around for ages. There are a few specialty dishes worth coming for.

XO Salted Egg Yolk Crab XO 金沙蟹: We started the with sautéed crab with salted egg yolk with a touch of XO sauce. I liked that it wasn’t too wet and the added minced garlic and pepper was fragrant.

Lobster with Sticky Rice in Lotus Leaf 荷香龍蝦飯: Next indulgence was a signature dish of stir fried lobster with supreme broth sauce. The lobster itself was meaty, perfectly cooked with a nice bounce. I liked the rice that lines the bottom with lotus leaf and mixed in some sweet corn. It is a great vehicle to absorb the essence of the lobster.

Peking Duck with Lettuce Wrap 片皮鴨 + 生菜包:
Crispy skinned with lobster chips. Served on the side with Mandarin pancakes, green onion scallions, and hoisin sauce. Add some hot chilli oil too if you prefer some heat.

Diced duck meat stir fried and used as the filling for lettuce wrap. Good mix of meat and vegetables makes the perfect Chinese taco.

Pan Fried Black Cod with Soy Sauce 豉油皇煎黑魚: One of favorite items amongst the many ‘favorite’ dishes of the evening. It’s never too much too have lots of good food right? I liked the crispy skin. I like the fatty and flaky black code. Not too salty makes this the perfect dish.

Dark Vinegar Spareribs 銀山鎮江骨: This complex sweet and sour spareribs is not your typical orange nuclear sauced ribs you find at a Chinese take out joint at 2 in the morning. Plenty of white rice wine tie the sauce in with tender spareribs.

Lamb Hot Pot 滋補羊腩煲: Lamb brisket hot pot is the perfect dish for cold winter months. I love the use of bean curd skins to soak up all the great flavors from the lamb. The great thing about this hot pot is that it is not one bit gamey. Dip in the fermented bean curd sauce to cut the richness.

House Special Spicy Clams 避風塘炒蜆: This night keeps getting better I don’t know how to describe my how my tastebuds felt eating this delicious plate of spicy stir fried clams. Salt and pepper is very aromatic and would go great with a bowl of plain white congee for late night Da Lang.

Eel Hot Pot 啫啫黃鱔煲: Not a lot of places make a good quality eel hot pot nowadays. I liked the flavors and the breath of the wok in this dish. Eel itself is meaty. Be careful of the tiny bones in the eel.

Chicken with Sticky Rice 窩燒糯米雞: This signature dish requires pre-order 24 hours. The chicken is stuffed with sticky rice with a crusted bottom. Tender, juicy meat still with a crispy skin. I’ll definitely take my folks here.

Soft Tofu Topped with Diced Seafood 瓊山豆腐: One of those dreadful things to take pictures of are a plate of glossy white tofu. Everything just over exposes and the texture is lost. Do trust me that this is delicious and goes well with rice and a crowd favorite for the young and the old.

Ox Tail in Red Wine 紅酒燴牛尾: Another great dish for the cooler months is this super tender ox tail hot pot. Marinated with red wine and served with carrots and potato fingers. The sauce is great to add with your rice.

Golden Eats Seafood Restaurant is a surprisingly yummy Chinese Restaurant. Prices are reasonable and offers a lot of signature dishes worth splurging over. Plenty of street parking. Best of all, it is walkable distance to dessert at 17°C Dessert.

We came here for a special Chinesebites impromptu dinner before our desserts just a few doors down. We were definitely spoiled, getting to try all their special dishes, some you need to do a special order way ahead of time. Lobster and sticky rice in a bamboo tub This was a tub full of yummy lobster and sticky rice with corn. I am surprised how generous they were with the amount of sticky rice given, usually places give maybe half of what we received. The lobster meat was sweet and bouncy.

Came here for a family birthday meal and the service was alright, not completely attentive given the low staff count.

Food was great like the Lobster on Sticky Rice among other nice dishes so no complaints there~
