A little pricer now but the meat quality is still good. The two hour limit is understandable but annoying. The deep fried chicken wings are a must.
Recently became one of my preferred hot pot place in vancouver. Their all you can eat pricing are pretty good. Although some stuff will require extra cost but overall the beef quality is good. Their chicken wings are super good and juicy. Their lemon tea is good. They offer a large variety of veggie and meat. Highly recommended
• my favourite Hot Pot place in Vancouver!
• pay parking along Victoria drive or park along the side streets
• Reservation is a must, they won't take you if you just show up.
• its a small place, 2 hours max to stay
• unlimited order of hot pot delight
• flavourful soup bases
• fresh veggies, meat and even home made shrimp, beef, fish balls!
This place is well-furnished and simple, and the food was quite good. I would recommend the fish noodles, which have a nice springy texture, the premium beef slices, and the beef balls. I just wish the soup (mine was preserved eggs and cilantro) was more flavorful. It says the soups were boiled for 6 hrs but there really wasn't enough flavor. Not in a rush to come here again but still pretty good food! If you are a Cantonese coming here be warned some waitresses only speak Taiwanese. Recommended for people who haven't had hot pot in a long time.
This relatively new spot in East Vancouver is the new go-to for AYCE in the area. Good variety of food available and most importantly it was really fresh. The only downside is the lack of seafood options (like live crab, geoduck etc etc). However for the price you're paying and what you're eating, this is definitely the best deal out there. The owner also doesn't rigorously enforce the 2 hour limit, which makes everyone happy.
Highly recommend: Fried Fish Puffs, Fried Fish Skin, Fresh Beef/Fish/Squid balls
THIS IS IT. One of the BEST hot pot place in town!. In the past, I never enjoyed going out for hot pot because you either get really good beef, and everything else is mediocre. Or you get really good soup base, and the beef is horrible. I was surprised to discover that EVERYTHING (except for their wonton, dumplings & oysters [could be seasonal]) they serve is top notch.
This is THE ONLY hot pot place in town so far I've tried where I don't need to spam orders of a few specific items because everything is worth ordering, most notably:
- Their signature house-made fish puffs ($1.95/plate). It's definitely worth trying!
- House-made balls. Some of the best I've tried!
- Wagyu beef ($2.95/plate). Really flavourful, though their regular meats are really good so you don't really need to spend extra on this one.
- Premium Beef Cube. Don't just spam the regular beef as this one is just as good if not better.
Their pricing is also very fair with complimentary satay sauce, green onion, and unlimited soy sauce. At $19.95/person, it's worth trying. Don't forget to ask for their monthly specials (where you check in on Facebook)!
In this cool season, hot pot has just been a huge craving. There’s just something special and satisfying about having family and friends gathered around the simmering pot of hot soup with fresh food cooked and eaten at the table. Jun Yuan opened just in time, but is it worth your visit?
Although I’m sad to see Sun Yee’s former format go, I’ve been pretty impressed with their new hot pot offerings! May return for special occasions.
