The Drive--Commercial, that is--has been our chosen place to reside and permanently affix ourselves for 2 decades, and then some. Many of the cheap and delicious spots have been replaced by mortgage offices, and a frightening amount of chain coffee shops. Yes, as anyone who knows, The Drive as changed.
One spot--The Skylight--has just said no to this ballyhoo, and remains to this day as the sole remnant of inexpensive, as the food itself is anything but 'cheap'. I cannot think of one place left where you can chose from a very well stocked menu of tasty tidbits to full on steak dinner. Never mind that the owner is a wonderful lady, as all of the food is home-made. (especially her soups which are divine!).
Whether it is Asian/Chinese, or N.American fare, you will always be welcomed with very tasty food, and an atmos in which time has been lost.
Friendly owners and meals are always consistent. I always come here for breakfast on the weekend. Thanks for being such a gem on commercial drive Skylight! :)

Cheap breakfast!. We love to come here for diner-style breakfasts. The restaurant is family-owned and very friendly. It's a neighbourhood spot, where they'll always remember your name and your favourites on the menu and a great place to meet friends for cheap breakfast.
