How can you go wrong with gelato on the beach? Vancity loves gelato! The prices are reasonable here and it's only 50 cents more for a waffle cone. It's only a few blocks up from kits beach, so get a double scoop. The flavours change from time to time but whenever I see a new flavour, it's a hit or miss.
Service is always very friendly here.
Nothing says summer like enjoying an ice cream cone while you stroll the beach.Paradiso Gelato Bistro is conveniently located near Kits Beach Park, one of the more popular beaches in Vancouver. It’s not directly across Cornwall Street. Instead, it’s located a block in on Yew Street. Here we have the Passion Fruit Sorbet in a waffle cone ($4.75). The sorbet was pleasantly tart and refreshing… perfect way to end the evening by the beach.
Take someone you love.. Paradiso Gelato has some of the very best gelato in town. Great place to bring your kids or someone special. If it`s a beautiful day we take our ice cream and walk along Kits Beach. The flavours are incredible and the service is friendly. Taste the coconut!
Comes to the plate with a 2-0 count. In baseball, there's an expression about batters being jinxed, "You come to the plate with two strikes against you." Well, there should be a saying for the opposite of that, when you have natural GOOD THINGS working for you. Like being an ice cream parlour. And being near the water. Paradiso Italian Gelato is both of those things. It makes decent gelato, and it's a one-block walk to Kits Beach. So I'd say Paradiso is like a batter who comes to the plate with two balls in his favour, and he only needs a 4-0 count to get a walk to first base.
My two-scooper ($5 for the scoops, another 25¢ for a waffle cone) cappucino plus chocolate/peanut butter was as fatty-rich as gelato should be. The flavours were strong, especially the cappucino, but natural-tasting. Some small ice chunks in the cappucino gelato, but it's not easy to store frozen treats perfectly. It didn't detract from it being a decent cone. Plus it's gelato. By the water. Ball two!

So good that when I saw a strand of hair, I did not walk back for an exchange.
Because our meals together never end in just two, and because we were left unsatisfied with just frozen yogurt. MissVancouverPiggy and I found ourselves searching up neighbouring places for an after meal, after dessert, ice cream. We both agreed that the calorie count is pretty much the same between frozen yogurt and ice cream, so you are better off eating ice cream for its taste and texture. Not that we care for or even count our calories. Our search yielded “Paradiso Gelato Bistro”, a tiny corner shoppe for ice cream, coffee/tea, and surprisingly Vietnamese “banh mi” sandwiches. Their banner advertising their home made Italian gelato was promising. And located adjacent to Kitsilano beach, I am sure they saw a lot of success. The statue of a polar bear holding on to a double scoop and cream sugar cone by the door was a cute novelty. Other than that it, the interior had no purposeful visual interest. With minimal seating indoors and a few plastic patio chairs lined out front, the point
