I went this place for quick dinner and ordered popular chicken thigh fried rice and beef&beef ball noodle soup. The restaurant's been there for over 30 years. So I could see how much locals love this place. One thing that I was not quite happy about was their bean sprout. They were a bit soggy and not really much comparing to other vietnamese restaurants I've been. Anyways, they had very nice price, nice food, good service, fair atmosphere, and a bit unpopular location. Overall, I'd like to revisit for casual lunch and dinner.
This place is really popular with the David Thompson highschool students during lunch and after school. The locals enjoy it too. I wouldn't recommend the bbt if your looking for something real decent. I ordered the pudding milk tea with pearls and dang man... No chunks of pudding... So sad. The food is good with their specials. Alot of regular locals around come to eat here for a quick bite. Take out is popular too. I recommend the chicken thigh with fried rice, it's good.
Restaurant has new menu and has changed the decor. They have new booth seats and new tables. It looks totally different than before. Chicken Fried Rice is still my favorite and the bubble waffle is amazing. Snacks like Spring Rolls and Chicken Wings are a must try also. The lighting has been changed and is great for couples to dine in. As far as i know, this restaurant has been here for nearly 30 years now.
Fast and friendly service at this local joint. Favourites are the Chicken fried rice, #1 noodle soup & spring rolls but everything else on the menu is delicious. Love the noodle soup, broth is tasty and hot. Love the way they make their spring rolls as most vietnamese restaurants have ditched the traditional fried roll. The menu is a fusion between HK style and Vietnamese noodles. They have added new things to the menu that are worth trying. They just did renovations too and it looks great! New booths are super comfy!
Dinner on a Sunday. Place wasn't too busy and service was prompt and helpful.
Had some Spring Rolls which were awesome and the Boneless Chicken Thigh with Fried Rice which was alright, nothing special.
Spring rolls are pretty damn good, they're the only thing I ever get from there for some reason, and well worth it.
Like Dan below, I've also been going to this neighborhood pho place for the past 20 years. But I had to stop 10 years ago as the soup quality went significantly downhill then. What were they thinking, that we customers were so ignorant as not to notice? Fast forward to the past few months and after hearing from a friend re-recommending it, I paid it a visit not without some trepidation. And after a few repeat visits, I can safely say that the soup recipe is back to the glorious days that I used to love. Just ignore the short haired waitress who is still terse and lippy.
This tiny local restaurant is run by friendly Chinese people so their menu has a Chinese flair to it. The restaurant is long and narrow with booth seating. Standard casual Chinese food with some pho, laksa, and Vietnamese snacks.
Lim Kee…if you ever went to David Thompson High School, you’re sure to have had lunch at least once from this restaurant. Very busy during lunch, the two most popular items are the Deep Fried Chicken With Rice (mini) w/drink and the House Special Noodles
