3.6/5 What's better than eating tacos in the summer time? I can't believe I finished 5 meat tacos for lunch. Don't put too many sauce, otherwise, the flavours will be taken away. I like the taco comes with a smaller size. It is easy to easy and you don't have to worry about food falling. The food was okay, at least, it is a good option for a busy work day. Recommend.
So... it’s never easy as a solo-traveller but from the off I was made to feel at home. I got here early, as often I do. Never easy filling the time when you’re alone. Arrived at around 5pm and at 8.30pm I’m still going strong. The staff were friendly and easy going, quick to offer a smile and advice. The food was on point and quick to come out. The cocktails were the icing on the cake, I’m not a tequila fan but when in Rome. Top notch, hats off and thank you :-)
The tacos are quite nice here and I like how spacious it is - way bigger than their other location and the location is better too (the one at Hastings is kinda in a sketchy area lol) Only thing is their fish tacos are humongous and quite a mouthful, it would be better if it was just a lil smaller!
Yes. We,re Eating Again.

Our continuing quest for great tacos, brought us to La Taqueria at 322 W Hastings. It turns out that original location is closed for renovations until January. We chose not to wait! Instead, we walked to this location at 562 Hornby and I'm so glad we did! This is a fun, noisy and fairly large place with whimsical decor and pretty fine tacos too. You order at a counter (not just tacos but burritos, beer, tequila etc) and when your order is ready it gets delivered to you. There is the requisite salsa bar including some pickled carrots and jalapenos and cabbage. There were no available plates for said salsas and no room on our delivered orders so you have to work their use out strategically. We had 4 - 4" corn tortilla tacos; chorizo, mole, lengua and rajas con crema. All were tasty but the mole stood out for me as distinctly rich and chocolatey while my partners favorite was the surprising sweetness of the chorizo. Then our Baja taco arrived (6" flour tortilla. I usually sneer at flour tortillas but this one had a seer from the flattop and that made a difference) with a generous piece of crispy fish, a little cabbage and crema. Very good! We also shared a Jarritos Mexican cola (same price as the Coke) and declared it very good also! As I pondered the value of $3 for each small taco, I recalled that people at that moment were paying $3 for bad chain restaurant cheeseburgers, and I was content.
I love love love La taqueria! Good menu selection for carnivores, omnivores and herbivores. Very reasonable prices considering they use organic produce, free range meats and wild fish where possible with good portion sizes. I’ve eaten at 4 of their locations and they’re all consistently great. I’m here Friday night and they have a live band playing good music. Get thee here now!!
The newest La Taqueria Pinche Taco Shop location is now on Hornby Street right in the thick of the Downtown Vancouver core with its 3,000 square foot space—the largest one yet—formerly occupied by Steamrollers.
La Taqueria has their new location on Hornby Street, which has 90 seats and also offers counter service for convenient food on the go. Happy Hour runs from 3pm–6pm daily with $4 Margaritas to toast the end of a long workday. This location is the largest of all their locations. You will find the same delicious tacos and burritos.
If you’re a fan of La Taqueria like me, you’ll be excited to know that they have just opened a new location in Downtown Vancouver. Located at 586 Hornby Street, La Taqueria’s newest restaurant is the largest of their four existing eateries. Happy Hour will run from 3pm–6pm daily with $4 Margaritas to hail the end of a long workday.
