Reviews Xi Yan Seafood Restaurant

Efficient staff and delicious food. Xi Yan opened just recently (as of now, there is no rating cause of lack of votes) and there is a 'Review us on Zomato' sticker by the front of the restaurant. The food is very traditional and executed perfectly.

Today was a special day so I ordered the abalone.  The abalone was soft yet chewy, and texture-wise, it was really good. Abalone never has much taste- thank god for the inventor of abalone sauce. It is shiny and like a glaze- thick yet not cloying, and is similar to oyster sauce (but better!) The choy sum, soaked in sauce, gave the veggies a juicy kick.

Then quickly after came the lobster over glutinous rice. The lobster was flavorful, but I really liked the lobster-infused glutinous rice. All the lobstery flavor goodness, juices, and fragrances seeped into the rice making the rice absolutely MAGICAL. All the oil is not the healthiest, admittedly, but this rice is heaven. Later there were delicious golden almond cookies- they were not too sweet but they were deliciously crumbly and shiny too.

The problem was that the food came a little rushed, making it seem like a really hurried dinner. But amazing classic Chinese restaurant.

Really Good! Good food & service. Menu is really traditional and unique. Finless eel Rice is rare and delicious. Flavored goose is another bright spot. Orange peel bone is a must try.

Due to the Chinese New Year dinner here, we had to order one of their set menu. We ordered one and it didn't have some of the dishes we wanted, so we had to order more. The seating is tight, practically I'm seating in the middle of the road. The quality of food is good though, hot, tasty and well presented. The service good despite the busiest time of the year.

Not overly busy so you're bound to get a table when you arrive, but if you want a guaranteed seat, book an 30 mins-1 hour in advance! Lunchtime: Great tasting food no matter what type of dim sum you order. Tea is of decent quality. It does not have a damp flavor like some other places. Dinnertime: Dishes have decent portions and are not too oily or saturated with MSG. Overall: Highly recommended if you want great service, a fast seat, and tasty food!

Food is actually not bad (not as oily as other places) and it wasn't too pricey. Subtle tasting not too strong.Price was reasonable when ordering food individually rather in a set. Came up to around 220 bucks for 13 people.

No surprise here. Food quality remains high, service friendly and efficient. Restaurant getting busier over the past six months. Excellent job to maintain service standard and improve upon it in this highly competitive Cantonese cuisine market.

Not many people know about this place on 41st and Granville. They serve quality chinese food at a high, but fair price for the quality and quantity. The free range fried chicken is my favourite!! Parking is a pain before 6pm.

They are a bit pricy. However, excellent service and their dishes are great. I'm talking about their dinner, I'm not sure how is their dim sum. The only downside of this restaurant is that the parking was quit expensive and the parking machine was not properly working.

I love the dim sum there. It is authentic Hong Hong dim sum. Some people said the place is expensive but I think It is worth it.
