Came here with a big group of friends for dinner. The place was quite busy but the staff was attentive and friendly. Tried different dishes but particularly liked the pork chops, fish hot pot and other seafood. The pigeon was a little too dry, though.
One of the cleaner Chinese restaurants in the mid-range pricing (not including the fine dining ones). It seemed to be renovated recently. The food was not super oily which was appreciated. Our table ordered the set menu. The chilled Hainese style chicken was a bit dry but flavourful. The fried rice was really plain with only dried scallop and egg, but not oily. The steamed fish was delicious. Overall it was a decent Chinese restaurant considering how many I've been to in the city. I'm not a fan of Chinese restaurants but if I had to pick, I would recommend this place for a family gathering. Also, keep in mind parking is quite difficult here. There is a parking lot that fits about 6 cars, rest is free street parking on Kingsway and surrounding streets.
Another dim sum joint, you say? Why is he reviewing yet another dim sum joint? What can I say; I like dim sum - and I certainly liked it here. Their leaf wrapped rice rolls were not like some places which aren't so good. The food is nice and filling, and while the price range isn't the lowest, dim sum is 20% off Monday thru Friday between opening at 9:00 and 11:00. Enjoy!
A very busy Friday evening, a table for 3.
We ordered from their Set-dinner menu (Daily Soup, DF Chicken, Pan Fried Halibut, and added another dish (Peapods w. 2 kinds of mushrooms).
All the dishes were quite big in size. Taste was good and really hot enough when serving. The DF Chicken was a bit too dry though.
The environment was extremely noisy because it was too busy. Service was ok.
If you're looking for a nice & comfortable place to dine-in, this is not the one for you.
○decent service
○decent food
○family friendly
○average price for dim sum
○if I had to choose 1 dish: oyster rice in soup
○would i go back? Yes
My girlfriend and I met up late at 8pm. We weren't too sure what to eat. So we kept on driving along kingsway to explore. We finally found a place, which we thought was a dive hole out front. LOL!
I was wrong, the renos were done up inside. So much for a quick and cheap meal LOL.
The menu for dinner is quite expensive, however, the quality of food surprised me. I loved the peeking duck 2 ways. The rice wraps were nice and hot and the duck was sooo good. Then the lettuce wraps came out, done really nicely. Not so salty. Loved it.
The scallop and egg white fried rice is DELICIOUS.
All in all, dinner for 2 came out to 74 bucks after taxes and 10% tip. I wouldn't suggest coming here if your frugal. The food is at a very good standard and service is Excellent. I'd come back to try the dim sum one day soon.
I come here often with my family for dimsum. Although their service are not that great, their food is great, price is moderate. Reservation is recommended since they are always busy, the place is always packed with people.
The food tastes delicious. We always order their scallop and egg fried rice, chicken feet with specialty sauce, pea tips, and DEEP FRIED SQUID. Their deep fried squid tentacles are awesome, it is a must try!! Should try their flat noodles as well.

Came here around 8PM and the restaurant was about half full. While looking at the menu, one of the managers were standing near our table telling us we should order Spot Prawns as they were fresh and in season right now. I noticed many tables have ordered their seafood. I guess that is what they are known for.
Service - Excellent. Seems like there were lot of servers working tonight. We got seated immediately and got our tea. Shortly after we got the complimentary peanuts. The food came really fast. The servers are all smiling and greeted each and everyone. As I was paying at the table with the credit card machine, the manager asked us we wanted dessert, which I thought was very nice. Usually servers who see that we are paying doesn't even bother asking since why waste their complimentary foods. My boyfriend just think that maybe he wants a bigger tip so he said it during the payment. Guess we will never find out unless we go again some other time.
Spicy Salted Prawns (shell on) - Super tasty! Probably about 18 prawns with a bunch of crispy garlic flakes on a bed of lettuce. It wasn't too salty and just spicy enough. Unfortunately, it was a little overcooked. The prawns were stringy.
Stir Fried Flat Noodle with Black Pepper Prawns and Beef - This was super peppery, which kind of killed the taste buds for other foods, however still very tasty. Wasn't too dry. Lots of beef and with 6-8 prawns. My boyfriend noticed it wasn't oily like the usual Beef Chow Fun.
Green bean dessert and cookies - The green bean dessert wasn't too sweet, which was perfect. I noticed they put kelp in the dessert, which was fine cause they didn't put lots were it makes the whole dessert taste like kept. The cookies were yummy. They were warm and crispy. Homemade I presume.
Came here for a King Crab feast, and it was really good. $29.80 a pound for the king crab, which is cheaper than other restaurants, and it's quality. We ordered a set combo, which ended up being a good deal. As another poster has said, the dishes are not that greasy. Service was really good as well, as it seemed genuine. Parking can be difficult.
First time here, would return.
I remember a long long time ago coming here for dinner but I don’t recall the name being ‘Come Along Seafood Restaurant’ though, so it must have changed owners but the interior looks almost identical to when I came here before. We had quite a feast here for dinner and I thought the food overall was solid.
Solid Chinese food, both for dim sum and for dinner. Service and decor are as you would expect from a Chinese seafood restaurant. Dim sum portions are generous and generally not too greasy. Parking is very limited in the rear and, unsurprisingly, there is no baby change table in the washroom. There is free Wi-Fi though.
Come Along Seafood Restaurant is a busy Chinese restaurant along the same Kingsway block as Phekda Chinese Restaurant. I’ve been here both for dim sum and also for dinner with very different service levels. First off, I’m not a big fan of the layout of the restaurant. The half-frosted windows blocks light from coming into the restaurant and makes it seem unapproachable (even though I know it’s meant to give more privacy to the diners inside). They also have a small walled off alcove in the front that breaks up the flow of the restaurant inside and makes it difficult to flag down staff if you’re stuck in one of the unseen nooks.
Gathering. We came here before lunch hour. Dim Sum were tasty here. Shrimps dumplings was good and not filling with fatty meat. BB Cuttlefish in curry sauce tasted rich in curry bit still have some curry power on it, just ok. Steamed beef tendons was chewy and generous in portion. Black peppers with beef was a bit spicy. In gernal, all dim sum was pretty good .
Early Morning Dim Sum. Came pretty early and it wasn't too busy so we got seated quickly.
Food also came quick and was quite good plus service was decent and friendly.
Good weekday dim sum. 20% off dim sum if you order before 11am on the weekday. Applies to one side of the order sheet but the selection is decent. You should be able to get all of the usual favorites. I ordered 8 dishes assorted sizes and it came up to just over $30 with tax and a few bucks more for tip.
Food is a bit slow to come out but it's because they start steaming things after you order so it's super hot. Portions are decent too, usually 4 pieces for most things unlike some places that only gives you 3.
Weekdays before 11 they are busy with lots of older folks that are retired. Should have some seats available but don't expect it to be dead.
Went there for dinner today. I like their braised shark fin , salty fish and chicken fried rice. their lobsters on noodles, steamed rock cod, peas tips, shredded chicken with jelly fish are tasteless.
My favorite dim sum restaurant in Canada. OK OK I'm from Edmonton and I haven't been around much... lol so I'm easily impressed but this place is definitely up there. The last time I remember having such good dim sum was in some expensive hotel in Kowloon, HK. This place is absolutely awesome and if you know of anything better in Vancouver feel free to message me :)
The price is cheap considering I'm from Edmonton where you pay the same and the food is half as good. There's so much variety here and the deep fried calamari is done so so right. It's lightly battered and salted just enough for me to taste the tender squid. It's usually tough and stringy at other places or cold even but this place... does it right. The deep fried tofu is absolutely soft and melts in your mouth.
That's it I'm moving to Vancouver. j/k.
