They're OK. Not really Mexican food though, more like chicken shawarma in a tortilla. Still decent for a quick bite and it can be tasty depending on what fixins you add to it.
Consistently tasty. Red Burrito always seems to have delicious, fresh, healthy food available. The quality is consistently good and you can get basically what you want in your burrito. The burritos are huge and can be enough for two meals if you are not super hungry.
Simple. Red burrito- chicken, rice, cheese- a coke and ~$10, perfect lunch to get your thru the rest of your shift.
Why the low ratings?. I've never been a big fan of Mexican food (even in Mexico), but after going to Red Burrito I am a fan. I haven't been going to the right places! My food was so good. I gulped it down quickly. Wow. I love the setup of this place too. About the service, they did take the orders from two separate people who were behind me in line, before taking my order…I suppose I could have said something earlier so I won't blame them. Other than that, great service.
Driving by this place for years on end on my way to hwy 1, its about time i made it in here! The menu is small and simple but offers all you need for a quick fix. I go for the red burrito on the tomato wrap, spicy beef with all the fixings and some guacomole, with a corona to get it all down. I thought it was really good, although burittos is what I specialize in at home and well mine cant be beat!
Good sized portions. Average pricing, but i didn`t like how cheese is 1$ (menu says 1$ for extra cheese, but it`s actually 1$ for any cheese). May go back if we happen to be driving by, but probably won`t go out of our way to go. Cool decor.
Revved Burrito. Nothing beats being on The Drive and stepping in for some Mexican that actually tastes like it should. Simple store front with a simple menu. Tortillas have a nice consistency and portion size is reminiscent of being back in the US. I, however, have heard recently, that prices have gone up considerably. I guess that warrants a visit, any excuse for a burrito!
Slowly Plunging. I use to love red burrito. Their burritos are still packed with tasty mexican rice, black beans, salsa, lettuce, cilantro, and corn! But slowly the prices have been rising, and they are now charging a lot more for extras like: cheese, guacamole and sour cream!
Same great taste (onions could be cut a bit smaller), just a higher price.
AUTHENTIC MEXICAN TASTE. By no means am I an expert on what authentic Mexican is supposed to be but the Red Burrito seems to be doing it right. They put Taco Del Mar to shame. These burritos are damn good & for smaller appetites they have the burrito bowl option. I'm not a fan of the extra charges for certain add-ons such as guacamole.
Changes had to be made.. It seems that the quality of the food is different from the first time they opened. Sure, recession hit us hard. The HST has placed on us and the rent goes up, but does the food have to suffer?
Yes, the chicken/beef is dry.
Yes, they are giving out smaller portions of rice and beans.
Yes, the price have gone up.
And, yes... $2.00 for guacamole!
Wow, yet people still come here in hoards to get cheap Mexican. I admit, on the occasion I like to spice things up and pick up a Burrito in a bowl.
Every time we have gone here, we have enjoyed it. Good value for the amount of food you get, and we've always found it to be fresh. To me, this seems like an authentic meal, fast as any fast food, but actually healthy. I always go away satisfied.
