Great international franchise being the Portuguese flavour.
Tried this via Skip the dishes a while back.
There’s a choice of level of spice for customising your order.
My recommendations- obviously the grilled chicken selection, the peri peri fries & Portuguese tarts!
So, I have always been a die-hard fan of the Peri Peri Potato Wedges. Smelling the aroma of a fresh batch floating through the air as you enter the restaurant always makes my mouth water, and waiting to take the first bite of the golden brown slices, feeling the slight crunch of the exterior, followed by the warm hug of soft, fluffy mashed potato goodness within embracing every tastebud on your tongue. Going there 2-3 times per week for the wedges alone became a routine for me, and Nando's became a place for me to receive comfort food; the chicken was alright, the wedges were great, and that was all.
And then everything got better.
The recent renovation kept me from my wedges for several months, and the potato drought was long and harsh, but it was all worthwhile once the location reopened. A brighter, more open space, everything seems to have improved. Over the past 3 times I've visited, the chicken tastes more flavorful and moist than before, both in skewer and whole chicken forms, and the wedges are consistently great. While they say the Familia plate is for 3-4 people, if I have a hungry friend along with me, it's easy to take down the whole thing, as everything is delicious, and I don't mind overstuffing myself with good food. The garlic bread is also very delicious, and the only problem i'd have with the food overall, is that I wish i could eat everything fast enough to avoid having food get cold. I would review the vegetarian options, but no.
A minor complaint I have is that the restaurant seems a lot more consistently busy now, as I feel most of the neighborhood has picked up on all the improvements, and I find I have to wait a little longer to receive my daily dose of starchy goodness, a bundle of warmth that I will hold in my arms, and that will tell me everything is going to be okay. But that's good for business, and as long as this location stays open and gives me my wedges, I will be perfectly content.
Love this place!!! The only 'fast food' that's actually healthy. Love to get this when no time to prepare dinner. It's a bit of a wait for the food but well worth it!
Nice and bright decor, quick service, reasonable prices with a good variety to choose from. We ordered the variety platter which came with wings, a couple sides and a lemon spiced rubbed chicken for roughly $40 bucks. The food reminded me of Montanas with a bit of an authentic spin. I was pleased with Nandos and will be back the next time I'm too lazy to cook.
I haven't been to this location's Nando's for years. This Nando's is extremely family friendly (which is a nice way of saying there was a bawling child at the booth next to us.). As usual, I ordered the Haloumi burger (One of their vegetarian dishes. Haloumi is a type of cheese that is very light) with a side of rice. The rice was a little bit stale (Still pretty good though)
Great chicken wrap! I got the medium spicy level chicken wrap was amazed by how spicy that was. Portion size was perfect, with the right amounts of chicken breasts and veggies. Good and fast lunch place
Best Nando's I have gone to. Friendly staff, moderate waiting time (they cook it fresh, not like the Nando's in malls), and amazingly juicy chicken! This is some of the best chicken you can eat at this price range. Serving sizes are great, and you can choose healthy options too.
I highly recommend trying out the shared platters if you are going with 1 other close friend. I chose one that was recommended for 2-3 people:
- 1 whole chicken, split into pieces
- A good amount of chicken wings
- 2 chicken skewers
- 2 sides (peri peri fries are absolutely delicious!)
I brought home some leftover chicken and it was still juicy after a few hours. Absolutely delicious.
Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Overall very good casual dining experience, and I would recommend this Nando's to anyone who is not a vegetarian. ;)
Juicy chicken, extremely friendly services. Will revisit.
First of all, let me say that I'm English and that the Nando's over there are amazing (they one in DC was awesome as well). Nando's Canada is just not the same. Don't get me wrong, it's still delicious and the servers are nice but it's not as good. I wonder why?
In any case, it's still worth four stars but I can see why it's nowhere near as popular over here.
Casual weekend lunch. I love this place and I usually go there for weekend lunches.
Before Nando's, I chose KFC when I was craving for chicken, but now I eat at Nando's.
Much better, fresher, healthier, and tastier!
I also like the casual style there you pay for it first, but they bring your plats to your table.

Great place for casual dining fare.. Great spot, with food that always hits the spot. Chicken can be notoriously dry or burned, but it's consistently juicy and perfectly cooked on most every occasion here. I like the spacious seating and high ceilings, and the customers all seem to be repeat customers, so that is always a good sign. I'm waiting for the warmer summer months so that i can make use of the outside covered patio. It's basic relaxed dining, with delicious food that fills you up, and the sauces and spices make you feel all warm inside. Good stuff!
I enjoyed it. I love chicken, Swiss Chalet, KFC, Lee's Chicken, Rhino's, and Church's the least of the bunch and it's a little surprising that I haven't been to Nando's before. It's rotisserie chicken like Swiss Chalet but Nando's calls it Afro-Portugese flame grilled marinated with piri piri (Nando's calls their's peri peri) which is a chilli pepper so it's spicy hot. I ordered mine hot and it was very much so. Next time I'll order it medium hot. I ordered the special which was two legs and wedge fries for $7.83 regular $10.50. The chicken was good and the wedge fries were seasoned nicely and really good and out of the fryer hot so hot I had to wait for them to cool down. The food came really quickly and the staff came to take the dirty dishes away just as I finished. Maybe the staff read the earlier reviews and took them to heart and upped their game. I was happy with everything and would visit again. The part I don't like is I have to come to terms with the fact that if I want lunch other then the BK Meal Deal that everything costs around $15.00.
Hands down, the best chicken sandwich out there. You have to try their good quality chicken and delicious hot sauces. This particular branch will give you the South African flavor.
As usual, the food quality is excellent and this particular restaurant is nicely decorated. However, there are a few issues which irk me. First of all, when you pay with a credit/debit card, you are automatically requested to indicate how much of a tip you would like to pay. Except for when the staff drops your food on the table, service does not exist. We found the cashier who took our order very indifferent and consequently, she got our order wrong. The one side we were looking forward to the most never arrived. When we inquired about it, she told us that we hadn't ordered the side we wanted the most. This was simply not true. The two chair tables are too small for the dishes which come with the meal. In conclusion, no tip is justified based on lack of service but the chicken rocks!
Make sure to stop by at Nandos in Kerrisdale. One of my friends told me about Nandos so I went to the Kerrisdale location to try it and I was very pleased with the service, food and the atmosphere. Their chicken comes in four different flavors and I got the hot Peri Peri sauce. As a side I got the Mediterranean salad and the spiced rice both go perfect with the meal. I would highly recommend this location to any one who wants to try Nandos for the first time.
Best chicken EVER. If you have not been to Nando's Chicken in Kerrisdale you are missing out. Swiss Chelet chicken has nothing on Nanod's chicken by far the best. To top it all off the sever was perfect, they made sure I had everything to make my meal as enjoyable as possible.
I had been wanting to try Nando's for a long while and finally JT and I ended up going there for dinner. I knew from the advertisements that it was Portuguese food, and I also knew that I would be interested in the decor (simply because if it is Portugues
