Strange service and a surprisingly long time taken to prepare food for what their namesake implies... Buuut totally delicious! The BC roll was amazing and everything was generously rolled. Definitely a new regular.
I don't know of a better deal for sushi in Downtown Vancouver. Fresh, cheap, fast (except maybe during rush hour around dinner time, call in advance!).
Have been a customer since the restaurant opened - generally eat there or take out twice a week - sometimes more often. Sushi is excellent and the menu varied, though I most often order the #1 special combo, as it seems to be the best value. Love the family owned nature of the business and the personal service - I generally phone ahead for orders to save time. Because there are only two chefs, when it gets busy they can get backed up as they are very popular. Other than the odd time when I have had to wait for extended periods for an order I am most happy to be a customer! Excellent value compared to other similar
We are loyal customers for about 5 years now. For the price point and the type of service they offer (take out and self serve seating) they absolutely deserve the maximum stars for the review. Their sushi is always fresh and they pay attention to detail. Love that it's family run and that you can see they care. If you are looking to spend average but get great sushi in return, this is the place for you.
Really good sushi especially when it's just a block away from home. Good prices and decently quick service. Would recommend this to my friends.
Sushi to go has never been so good. Excellent location. Sushi made to order. And very affordable. Imagine a filling fresh sushi combo for under $10. Good options and selection.
Always fresh and gigantic rolls. Their roll combo party tray for $30 is incredible value and quality. Definitely a cut above the other sushi joints in the area!
GOOD.Walked by looking for a quick lunch, my friend said "don't bother , there is no one in there" so I looked up the reviews and gave it a chance, it's not fancy, but the sushi is good , the beef lunch special was good too, lots of fancier places around with way worse food. My friend liked it too.
Great food here. The wait is another story. Earlier in the year, on about three occasions, I called for take-out and was told 20mins. When I arrived, they hadn't even started making it. Yet they expect you to pay before they start making it. So the third time they did this to me I didn't pay and left and didn't go back for about 6 months. When I went back, I would go in and order, then walk around the neighbourhood a while to return to my waiting sushi. I think they realized I had not been there in a long time and perhaps made note, as now when I call and they tell me 20mins, its ready when I show up.
Make good size roles, always have gotten take out, takes about 20 min. Like that the tempura roles r cooked fresh and warm when u eat!

Very Tasty!. As a maritimer who is new to Vancouver, I've been more used to fish n' chips than sushi, yet as a foodie I made it a mission to get on the bandwagon and get my feet wet in the "world of sushi".
I ordered a Dynamite Roll Bento Box to go, and also asked to substitute the yam tempura for some tasty Gyoza. The chef humbly agreed to my request, and a few minutes later I was handed my meal. The chef/server was polite, yet not overly friendly, which I have come to understand is normal in Asian restaurants. All is well, as long as my food is good!
And was it ever....maybe even great! I will leave that decision up to the veteran sushi eaters in town though, as I'm such a newbie!
The Bento Box came with 5 over-sized Dynamite rolls, which I wished had been 10 small rolls, as each roll was about 3 bites. But delicious, nevertheless! A small asian-inspired salad, 2 gyoza, and 2 nigiri (1 tuna, 1 salmon) were the accompaniments with my rolls. Also included were the flavour boosters (soy, ginger, and wasabi) which were NOT required.
The gyoza were crispy on the outside, with an incredible tender pork and veg filling on the inside.
The Nigiri was perfect too, being extremely fresh, flavourful, yet subtle with a great texture.
The least presentable was the salad, which lacked in appearance, but made up in a fabulous dressing that livened the taste buds.
I will be coming back for more! Yummy to Go is worth a try!
Delicious!. This is probably one of the best sushi places in vancouver!! some of their signature rolls are exciting and innovative...the combo number one is delicious and satisfying! honestly one of the best places ever to have sushi!
Indeed Yummy. Good sushi for a good price and the quality is good. I will definitely eat here again.
Yummmy to Stay!. This is the best place for cheap good decent sushi in my opinion. It's called "Yummy to Go", so if you're expecting 5 star service, then go somewhere else. The combo roll that they had as their "Grand Opening Special" has stuck, and I get it every time because you can't beat that deal.
I'll be honest and say that a few times the rice was a little too mushy and inconsistent, but for the value I can't complain.
This definitely beats some of the places around here that charge almost twice as much for rolls half the size.

Yummy To Go is beyond amazing!. This is the best sushi place in Vancouver. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. The prices are very reasonable, and the quality is tops!! :-))))
Great $6 take-out specials. Really good take-out sushi spot. They cook the yam rolls to order, and the result are some of the best in city. Their special rolls are HUGE and pretty good too.

My favourite so far. Dropped in for their combo, was impressed at the amount of filling and size of the rolls, very affordable as well. Like the previous review says, nothing fancy but fast and friendly service and great value for the money.... on another note, my girlfriend who doesn't really like rolls, liked them from here, I hope they stay open...
Good!. I went there today for the first time with my 3 year old daughter. The layout of the restaurant is pretty much the same as what was the "Wrap Zone"; very casual dining, nothing 'pretty' or 'authentic', just plain. It's clean and the staff were friendly which is very important to me.
We had an avocado roll, kappi maki roll and the Chicken Teriyaki Box; 2 gyoza, salad, 4 pieces California roll and Teriyaki Chicken on rice. There wasn't much chicken, mostly batter but it still tasted good. The rolls were fresh and HUGE and not just all rice. I've never seen avocado rolls so big! Needless to say we didn't finish our food and needed to take it 'to go'. What really caught my eye was the 'to go' sushi platters, they looked very appealing and the price reasonable and I will definitely remember that when I need some sushi for a dinner party.
I hope this place gets enough business to survive, I think it will only get better as they tweek things further.
