Great little sushi spot on Commercial. Love the new cozy renos and tummy chef roles! Great servers. Had the Commercial and Hornby roles. Nice sashimi and tasty Miso. Will def come back.
Really liked this place. Had super fresh fish and interesting rolls. I really liked their prawn tempura, and their grilled squid was the bomb. Definitely order it. My friend got the takoyaki and said it was delicious as well. The only complaint I have is that the food came out at awkward times and some people were left waiting to eat while others were almost done.
For only $15 for an amazing fancy roll, and two more choices of either a regular roll or a hot dish... This place is pretty freaking awesome. The flavours were good and there were so many roll choices to choose from. I would skip the takoyaki next time and order another roll instead. Also the toro in the toro avocado dish that i orders on the side wasn't the best cut. It was fresh but chewy.
This isn't an authentic sushi place, but I do enjoy the glamorous sushi styles every now and then. Plus the deals incredible!
So happy. Everytime ive come here everyone is so friendly and happy.
Great Sushi and great combo deals!, they also always have awesome specials! never had a bad experience here!
Love. Everything about Sake Maki is enjoyable. Food is amazing for its price and portions are generous. Wait staff are friendly and pleasant but often flustered when restaurant is busy.
The food is what I always come back for.
Yum!!. Sake Maki isnt fancy. But it is consistently tasty and fresh. I have been a frequent diner @ the commercial location for a few years now and I have never been disappointed. Delicious food, good value and always friendly and fast service. Great for take-out and delivery also. Only qualm is that the delivery minimum price is far too high.
For Home delivery it was reasonably priced, nicely presented, responsibly packaged and pretty tasty! Never eaten at the restaurant but would likely order for delivery again :)
Just eaten at the restaurant - it was good! Not the most amazing sushi, but nicely prepared and presented at reasonable prices.
On the fence. Lots of options for sushi on the menu, go figure.. We all placed our orders and she said thank you, then she looked at us and asked if we would like miso soup to start? we agreed..We ended up being charged for it? I dunno i've never been asked at a japanese restaurant if I would like something i didn't mention while ordering and then get charged for it after.
I had a few tuna nigiris, the tuna tasted fairly salty unfortunately. The crunch roll was amazing, it was basically a dynamite roll with some mango wrapped around the outside of the rice, with tobiko, some sauce and a little bit of coconut shreds. The salmon roll was ok, she asked if we would like farmed salmon or sockeye, i asked "how much more is the sockeye?" she says "oh they are the same price". LoL sockeye please, if that is indeed what you are going to serve me! it came out and the rice was turning pink around the sockeye... now is that what normally happens? or is it because the roll has already been made for 12+ hours? The pork vegetable gyoza was really good, it tasted very fresh. The service was good, but i don't know if i would come back... A few things hit and a few missed...
Amazing sushi at excellent prices!
Fair price and Good value food. It's a Sunday night and 80% full. Service was good and we ordered the hornby roll and crunch roll. It's their speciality.
The chef's rolls are must-haves. The service is okay, but I normally go here for the food. Best sushi place on The Drive.
Really good sushi rolls. Unique and delicious combinations. Service is ok, what you would expect from an Asian restaurant
Amazing sashimi, great rolls. Sake Maki has great rolls, a total departure from most Vancouver sushi places.
The staff can be slightly forgetful, but they've always been helpful and incredibly nice. We've taken a lot of out-of-town guests there for a meal (it's very close to our place) and everyone loved it. It's such great value, and the sockeye salmon is out of this world!
Sake Maki, you’re my favorite sushi. I’m glad we are neighbors. NOM NOM!!

I will always order gyoza for my first visit to any place that offers it. If they mess up gyoza, they are done for me. Happily, I enjoyed the gyoza I ordered.
Here I go again, in the search of some interesting eats in one of the most “interesting” (for lack of a better word right now) neighborhoods in Vancouver: Commercial Drive. It was a hot night (Vancouver standards) and I just wanted something to eat. It wa
I have passed Saki Maki NUMEROUSSS times on the drive. That sign they have out front always caught my eye.
