If you're in Vancouver and craving for authentic Indian taste, this is the place to go. We ordered their Samosas, Pakoras along with Tandoori Chicken and Parathas. The food was well cooked and the Tandoori Chicken was delicious. Their service was really good. Recommended!
Visited this Indian restaurant in the evening and ordered their Samosa, Chaat, Parantha and Butter Chicken. The ambience of the place is soothing which lets you enjoy your food. The food was delicious and we could cherish our Indian flavours in Canada. The place also serves a variety of Indian sweets which should be tried as well! Totally recommended!
What else can I say about our FAVOURITE Indian restaurant? Raj, Steve & the rest of the staff always make us feel at home. The food is fresh & delicious with Indian flavour. There's a reason why people leave smiling!
This is a very iconic restaurant in South Vancity. They have been in buisness for years and just recently I noticed a city hall proposal development stamped onto their establishment. When I talked to the buisness owners they had mentioned they have until the end of this year and they will be continuing their buisness possibly in this area or another, so have no fear haha.
Onto the food! Now it's all you can eat and the prices are sooo generous. For lunch it's a spectacular deal! For 10.95 you have plenty of savory items to each, and desserts afterwards. It's a kick ass deal for lunch! Service wise the staff is so friendly with smiles and very hospitable, such great hosts. There is plenty of space inside this restaurant but also be aware that it fills up very very quickly at night. If your a student this is really good value if your really hungry! You'd be stuffed for the whole day and I know alot of Langara students who come here to fill up then off to their studies and classes, atleast once a week. Can't go wrong. I'm gonna miss the original location, but it won't be forgotten. I've had some good laughs and conversations here. My favorite is the punjab khadi.
Buffet is a bit weird but menu items are really good..!
Its the only good restaurant near my school so used to grab a chicken pakora and pop in break :D
Great. Tasty. Flavourful. I've had the vegetarian buffet and their samosas and enjoyed both. Great paneer and their naan was delicious. I would go back in a heart beat
Delicious Vegetarian Food. I tried the veggie korma and a vegetable samosa. Both were super delicious!
I am excited to try more items from this resteraunt.
Good food cheap, fine dining it's not,
New owners trying hard too please.
Can't go wrong for $10.bucks
Great Buffet - $10.95. I went to All India Sweets for the all day vegetarian buffet, and must say it was delicious! All of the dishes were super hot and very flavourful. I love butter chicken, so I opted to pay the extra $5 to order a bowl of that added on to the buffet - well worth it, the butter chicken was excellent and decent proportion size to accompany the buffet. The food was much better than several Indian restaurants I have tried in Vancouver.
I will definitely be back for a cheap and filling lunch!
Consistently good food!. Whenever i come here (about once a month) i always get the buffet option. the food is consistently the same, but still very tasty. the naan is TO DIE FOR. i love naan and it is SO GOOD here. the butter sauce is good, the salad selection isn't bad and all my friends rave about the desserts.
Not bad buffet at this price. I almost didn't go to All India Sweets because of the Urbanspoon reviews slagging it. But a bunch of people at a conference I was attending at Langara College was having lunch there, so I figured "What the heck?" And it wasn't too bad, especially because the all-you-can-eat buffet was $10.95.
There was a decent selection of Indian food -- all vegetarian, of course -- a mix of vegetables like cauliflower in sauce, paneer with peas, a nice version of malai kofta (veggie meatballs), etc. The stuff in the heating pans looked fresh on a Sunday afternoon. The salad bar was a bit dodgy -- looked like cabbage instead of lettuce, and I was unimpressed with the other vegetables, but I was there for the mains anyway. Dessert choices were gulab jamun (deep-fried pastry balls, like Indian Timbits) in syrup, with thin rice pudding and vanilla sauce that you could ladle into bowls. All India had an ample selection of naan and pappadums, which I rate as good, because I've seen some Indian buffets that skimp on the bready bits.
No one ordered from the regular menu, which has a full range of meat-containing Indian foods, including tandoori items. The a la carte dessert selection was larger than I can recall seeing at any other Indian restaurant, but sorry, I've never been much into Indian sweets. There are samosas and pakoras you can buy by the piece for takeaway. One of the conference attendees who eats there a lot bought a sack full, so they can't be too bad.
We didn't get bad service, either. Seated promptly, got refills of water pitchers and the lassis we ordered came out quickly. So I rate All India Sweets as better than the negative reviews.
All you can eat. I love the all you can eat veg buffet, and get a craving to eat here every so often. I love the desserts at the buffet and sometimes take some sweets home.
Food's good, decent prices. The place was very busy and food took awhile to arrive, though the wait for the food I wouldn't have minded if they just hadn't given us our plates ages before our food arrived -- the plates went cold. But this is not a negative review, although I admit at first I was put off that the all you can eat was vegetarian only, I opted for butter chicken because of that. The butter chicken was done just the way I like it and was a decent portion, but looking at the all you can eat vegetarian made me start thinking that not ordering meat for once wouldn't have been such a bad thing, the food all looked fabulous and the all you can eat was a really good price.
I also tried some tandori chicken, it was great! The tandori came on a sizzler plate and there was a massive amount! We weren't expecting that at all. We had to order things separately, so like my butter chicken was just butter chicken, I needed to order naan and rice on the side. The rice dish was enough for two or three and the naan was a little underdone in some parts but I didn't mind.
Prices seemed kind of average for Indian food. I'd love to go back if for nothing else than to try some of the sweets they have for sale.
Good vegetarian buffet. Good value and very friendly service.
All you can eat is barely worth it as they keep raising their prices but the food is still good. Service is consistently horrible from beginning to end.

Average dining, poor service.. All India Sweets is a laid back vegetarian buffet with menus with more extensive options ranging from Goat curry to the traditional fave "Chicken Tikka" where service was lacking, spices weren't. I was pleased with the spices, no need to mellow the flavors in this Punjabi sect of Vancouver. But the service was a C- at best. As we tried to pay our bill to a teenage girl in sweats and a tee (not restaurant employee attire) on the phone while talking to another customer also on the phone and halfway paying attention to our orders as we named them off.
Decent meal overall. I wouldn't say it's a budget friendly place, all you can eat for $10.95 and goat curry for $11.95, lunch menu, rice cost an extra $2.95...
Fair to middling. Nice variety but I would prefer more focus on better quality
Good service, good food, good price, what are you waiting for! Located right by 2 major bus stops, give this place a shot if you happen to be in the area. It’s a good bang for your buck, and if you haven’t tried Indian food before, this’ll give you a good taste of what it’s like.
Like many restaurants in the area, All India sells a wide variety of Indian desserts at one side of the building, near where one pays the bill, but TBPH I've never actually liked Indian desserts that much; I've tried a few different things and everything
