Omg, this is becoming my favourite cafe since I discovered it. I've tried 6 dishes there so far and I've been so impressed with the flavour and freshness! Excellent veggie Pho, the best one I've tried in Vancouver yet! It's so good that I always eat in and order a take out dish to have later! :)

Must try in my books. I've loved pho since I was 9 and have always enjoyed the beef varieties. Never ever expected something without meat would be comparable in taste but now that I've gone more towards a plant based diet, this place is a gem for my wife and I. The Spicy Vegetarian Soup is very good and so is the veggie curry with rice.

Very flavourful and clean tasting. Doesn't leave me thirsty like some traditional pho joints. Great quality with a fresh and healthy selection of exotic veggies and they put enough of it in the dishes which is awesome. Price is under $10 for a dish. Lovely group of ladies working the front and back. Feels like a family restaurant. Clean and tidy. Only minor quip is sometimes it gets hot in the restaurant and they open the door to let fresh air in but it's right on Kingsway. Minor. Take-out is efficient. I highly recommend giving this place a try. ;)

Veggie Bowl is one of my fave restaurants. They serve Vietnamese vegetarian. I started coming here as an alternative to the very popular and busy Chau Express (another goody that appeals to hipsters). The food is equally as good here, but they are not nearly as busy so there are no waits for seats. I come regularly for meatless Monday, Chinese New Year veggie day or even just a regular day for healthier Vietnamese food.

The menu is small, but what they offer is done right. The food is so flavourful that you won't miss the meat.
The restaurant serves true Vietnamese vegetarian food without the "short cuts". They use the right ingredients and the right techniques. My favourite dish is the lotus salad. It has tonnes of texture and a savory, tangy dressing that's so delicious. The Canh Chua has a nicely balanced sweet and sour soup, it is served with choice of vermicelli noodles or rice. The right ingredients are used here as well. Being Vietnamese, and remembering what mom made, and tasting that in a restaurant is fantastic.

Ownership changed earlier this year. Food taste and quality is the same, but service is much more welcoming. So for those who visited before and were put off by the cool attitude of the staff/owners, do give them another try...it's a warmer vibe now.

This place is spectacular! I love the food here, and the music they play is so relaxing. The pricing is reasonable as well for what you get. It's hard to find a place that makes good vegetarian Pho, but I highly recommend people trying their pho here. Also the salad rolls are delicious and basically every dish I tried I have no complaints for.

Healthy Pho Jackpot. Just visited this place for the first time and was very impressed! The broth is flavorful but you can tell it's healthier than other Pho places because you don't get that layer of oil that floats up to the top of the soup. The spring rolls are super light and crispy, not soaked with oil. The prices are very reasonable for such fresh healthy food. I will definitely be coming here from now on when I'm craving Vietnamese food!

Satisfying phở !. Out of the latest faux phở spots that have sprung open during the past couple of years, I have to say that I absolutely like the broths here the best. Definitely not thin on flavour or depth. Sorry I didn't try it out earlier. The curry was also enjoyable. Service here is welcoming and I wasn't waiting long to order from the menu, atmosphere is calm and seating is pretty comfortable.
I cannot say that I felt the coffee was worth 4 dollars, however.
Without hesitation, I would recommend Veggiebowl. : )

Absolutely Fantastic. I was surprised when I heard of a vegetarian Vietnamese restaurant, mainly in part that most Vietnamese dishes do use some form of meat broth in preparation. Veggiebowl delivers quality food on all accounts, with pho that is arguably even tastier than their non-vegetarian counterparts. Their spring rolls are a good choice for appetizers, while the main dish is really up to own preferences (i.e. they're all delicious). Even their spicy dishes aren't filled with a "violating" sense of spice, but rather an enjoyable tingle of flavour. I've recently finished trying all of their dishes, and I must say Veggiebowl is one of my favourites.

This restaurant is my new favourite place for Vietnamese food even though I'm not vegetarian. The spicy noodle soup and rice noodle with satay sauce was very flavourful. Also loved the creative take to the salad rolls with peanut sauce. The service was amazing and staff were very friendly. I'm Vietnamese and this place beats all other places I've been to as it is very clean and inviting.

Finally an all veggie option close to home. Previous reviews are true. Tasty food, friendly service, clean and value. Definitely coming back to try other items. We ordered the spring rolls which were crispy and not greasy as a starter followed by the spicy vegetarian soup and vegetarian satay. A little heat with a lot of flavour. Asked for a takeout menu on the way out.

Hidden treat. Sometimes good places are found more or less at random. The stretch of Kingsway between Fraser and Joyce Street has at least 20 Vietnamese restaurants, many that don't stand out for a newcomer. This one is the size of a coffee shop and can easily be missed.

The menu is vegan, with the products being signifcantly soy-based. In other words, lots of Tofu. Not to worry - the tofu here is delicious.

I had the vegetable curry bowl, with rice instead of the baguette. It came from brown rice, which is a refreshing change from the overdose of white rice at most establishments. The spice level was perfect and the blend of vegetables and spices was well executed.

My partner had a noodle bowl with vermicelli noodes and vegetables. The broth was excellent. Bean spouts, soy dip and chili dip are served on the side that complemented both the dishes. The other nice part? No MSG.

The service was commendable. The server was very friendly despite us coming in 20 minutes before closing time - at 7:40pm. She was also extremely accomodating for my partner's allergies.

Like any new smallish restaurant, there are areas for improvement. Fruit flies were gathering around our dishes. The menu is somewhat limited right now. Hopefully they can address these issues for the future.

You won't leave here with a full stomach unless you have both an appetizer and a bowl, but it's a great place to go for good food and drinks. They have vietnamese coffee and they make a great smoothie as well.

Fans of Vietnamese vegan food have a new place to eat in East Vancouver. Veggiebowl (2222 Kingsway), a family-run vegetarian restaurant, opened on May 30. Last week, I headed over to the Kensington-Cedar Cottage neighbourhood to check it out. The small eatery—located a block away from Vegan Pizza House (2119 Kingsway)—has a simple menu, on which four out of eight food items are labelled as vegan . The appetizers go for $3.50, and the mains are priced at $8 and $9 (cash only). The menu and homemade soybean milk. (Stephen Hui) I requested the bi cuon chay (shredded tofu rolls), bánh mi cà ri chay (vegetarian curry with baguette), and a glass of homemade soybean milk. The other vegan options are goi cuon chay (fresh tofu rolls) and bun hue chay (spicy vegetarian noodle soup). Everything I ordered was satisfying and MSG-free. The shredded tofu rolls contained carrot, lettuce, mint, and vermicelli. In the curry soup, I found fried tofu, large ch

The flavorful five-spiced broth won our hearts. Not only it was light, it was oil-free. A true vegetarian broth.
