I really enjoyed their brunch. The pear and almond cobbler skillet was superrrr good. 😋😋 And I like the interior decorations here, simple and relaxing. Highly recommended!!

I never give a five star rating unless I mean it. I honestly cannot say enough good things about this restaurant and the experience I had hear. It wasn't till the end of the meal I realized were being served by the owner. This sort of passion for restaurant ownership is way cuisine is all about. FOOD: HOLY $#@& it was good. The chicken pate seriously blew my mind. The marmalade combined was like an explosion of flavour in my mouth I couldn't help but close my eyes to experience. The Elk tartar was very good as well. I think there was a slight bit too much mustard seed in it though. We had the Salmon. It was cooked to perfection and was so simple and perfectly cooked. The skin nice a crisp and a perfect medium rare inside. Too finish we had the toffee pudding. Easily one of the best deserts I've had in a long time. Front to back I really honestly hope you visit this restaurant. This to me is way dining is all about. They change there menu seasonally and am ecstatic to see what Tony comes up with next!!!

Just had a beautifully composed, thoughtfully made meat skillet for brunch and i still can't believe i paid as little as i did for such a delicious meal. this is gem of a place and if they continue with their good quality of food and service they'll surely be a hit. planning to go for dinner soon. you should too.

Very much enjoyed. The location provides lots of free parking and their atmosphere is casual and simple. It was our second brunch visit today and we have enjoyed both visits very much. The food is spot on. The menu is interesting and the cooking techniques are very good. It's our new place for brunch on the weekends. More people should give this place a try.

Why is this place not busier on a nice Sunday morning? Come on people. There is lots of parking close by, the food is fantastic and so far there is no lineup. This place deserves all the help it can get considering he quality of the food.
I had the crispy polenta with poached eggs, sunchokes, kale and mushroom sauce. The polenta was crispy on the outside and wonderfully creamy on the inside. I don't know of that's the way it's supposed to be but it was delicious. Needless to say there is not a battery hen produced egg in sight. The rich golden yolk that spilled from my perfectly poached egg as I cut into it just made me happy as it mingle with the savoury mushroom sauce. Everything came together in a way that only happens when you have a chef in the kitchen who knows what he/she is doing.
The service is just the right balance of attentive and casual. I appreciated the friendly patience of the waitress as my weekend morning brain tried to deal with the overwhelming task of deciding where to sit and what to order.
The location is kind of doomed (four restaurants/coffee places have come and gone in the last few years) so I am really hoping these guys pull off a miracle and survive if only for the selfish reason of having delicious food within strolling distance of my apartmenr

Great dinner experience! Thank you!. We dined at Kessle and March recently and shared the mussels with mushrooms, cured meat plate and the butternut squash cannelloni. My favourite was the cannelloni...WOW I'm still dreaming about that dish, it was mouth watering and delicious! The owner/chef's kitchen is open for diners to see his cooking techniques. Overall, it's a quaint, unique atmosphere with an artsy feel (which we enjoy as we are part of the art world). Cheers to Kessel and March for an outstanding job on a very busy night. We will tell our friends and will be back soon. Thank you.

We dined at Kessel & March on Saturday, November 16th for Dinner. The restaurant was full and the ambiance and service was great! We had the chicken liver pate to start, which I thought would be hard to beat, until I had the Lamb sirloin for dinner. It was cooked to perfection and very tasty. My husband had the the Pork Belly and Gnocchi which he's still talking about! We shared the Bread Pudding for dessert and it was the perfect end to our meal. Thank you for great food, service and experience. We will be back!

This place is not where you think it would be, but I like that.
First off the owners are amazing and set a great atmosphere for your meal. Next the food. It is always creative, fresh, and delicious. The breakfast calzone has become an addiction.
They also pride themselves in sourcing local ingredients.
I saw they were doing set menu dinners for a great price a few times a month.

Amazing Food.....again. These people consistently present world class food in an east side hideaway. This is a jewel to be discovered. Everything is exceptionally crafted and prepared in a very healthy manner.

Classy bakery in render-town. Never in my life would I expect to find a first-class baked-goods maker in an industrial slum like where Kessel & March is located. And I mean SLUM -- it's on a truck-route section of Dundas, one block up the street from the huge animal-fat rendering plant that gives East Van part of its dis-stink-tive atmosphere. Check which direction the wind is blowing from before you decide whether to sit on their patio...

Because you don't want any rotting grease odour to get in the way of tasting the great bakery items Kessel & March makes. No lie -- they make the kind of artfully-done things you'd expect to find in Yaletown or the gayer parts of the West End. I had a breakfast calzone, with a moist mix of scrambled eggs, finely chopped chorizo and tomatoey salsa in a superb crust. I love crust in most cases, and this was easy to adore, with its crispy but light and airy texture. The other things I saw on the counter, like their egg tarts (it's run by a hip young Chinese couple) also looked traditional and nouvelle at the same time. My only gripe is that they don't do espresso drinks, although my drip coffee was OK. OK, my other grip is the renderstench, but you don't notice it while you're inside.

AMAZING food + service. Signed up for an account just so I could write a review for Kessel & March. It's a bit far off the grid but this place has some of the best sandwiches I've ever had. The italian deli meat sandwich and the roast beef are delicious and I would highly recommend them if you're stopping by for lunch. The bread is homemade and the fillings are perfect. I'm definitely going to get brunch or dinner sometime in the near future.

Epidelicious!!. I have photos of the 3 dishes I ordered, but this new local is a place to try out without pictures tempting you to enter. The pork dish I ordered was cooked just right from top to bottom starting with a crispy skin, and juicy meat without leaving your mouth feeling oily. The white beans and green beans were a good complement to it. There is a good selection of food and I could write all about it, but just sit right at the bar area and you'll know exactly what to order. I had the 2009 Nipozzano Chianti to wash it all down. Their dessert was perfect, definitely the right amount of sugar. For someone who doesn't like sweets, I took a bite and finished off the plate. Ok, the only picture I'll post will be one of their desserts.

We have a tradition every year to host a Christmas Dinner / Christmas Party with our dear friends. This year we were excited that Kessel and March had an English Christmas Goose Dinner! Turkey is so 2012! 2013 Christmas Party celebrates with goose!

Kessel&March is an awesome restaurant on Powell Street. They do have brunch! TaiwaneseGirl, CanuckGirl, and I headed off on a Saturday to have our usual brunch get-togethers. The menu looked great and you can get brunch between $9 and $13. Pretty decent price point and also the food is high quality.

After seeing pics of Kessel & March on Sean’s Facebook, I had to try it. So last weekend I went with a bunch of friends to try out their menu.  Their menu isn’t too big, so our group of five was able to try a bunch of their menu and share. The offer a few different beers, some wines and spirits but unfortunately no cocktails. Upon sitting down, I noticed the smell of toast bread filling the restaurant. And after our first set of dishes I found out why. Many of their plates are served with it. The Chicken Liver
