After work one evening, I decided to go on Yelp and try a place that I’ve never been to. It was a fantastic idea because I really liked it here and ended up taking the boyfriend a few weeks later.
Atmosphere: narrow restaurant with weird stools. Tables feel a bit small but considering the size of the restaurant. . Bottom line: I've heard good things about Sushi Hub before but never tried it until today. They had featured rolls like their Volcano Roll and Brown Hub Roll (not sure why you would call it brown...). I ordered an Aburi box because I love my boxes. Something about the compartments that make it so enjoyable to eat. The Aburi oshi was ok, rice texture felt off though, tempura was on point, chicken teriyaki was not the way I enjoy it but still ok.

The restaurant is not very large, but the dining area appeared clean and in order. I suppose word about this restaurant had not really spread, as it was not packed even during peak lunch hours. As such, we had a comfortable amount of room at our table
Ordered the Pink Hub, California roll, and the Philadelphia roll. Amazing all around and the quality was superb. Quick, efficient service and really friendly staff.

I did a review of this sushi bar last year and I thought it was pretty good, and that more people should have gone there. Thankfully, they didn't, because management was switched, and for the better. As a restart, I got their Maki Combo which consists of Salmon, Tuna and California rolls for $8.50. Very good deal, and amazing food to compare. The value of each piece of sushi is off the charts. The California rolls weren't extremely mayo-y and the avocado was the perfect amount of ripeness, which I've never commented on because I never knew you could make avocado better by having a specific ripeness. The salmon was run-of-the-mill, which isn't a bad thing because salmon should taste good on average and if it doesn't, you're doing something wrong. The real surprise was the tuna. For anyone who knows me, I don't like the albacore tuna that's served at most sushi bars. It usually tastes like water or ice and it's not very appealing unless you want that kind of taste. Not only did this albacore taste fresh, but the server actually described (in detail) the preparation process for all of the albacore they buy, and you can ask them the same question if you'd like, but the way they process the fish actually helps lock in flavor and not give it frostbite. This has to be the best sushi pound for pound I've ever had, and I'm not surprised looking back. Also, I like the Comic Sans :P
I’m on a roll with trying more aburi sushi so after I found Sushi Hub on Instagram, I knew I had to pay them a visit. They’re located on Main next to Long’s Noodle House and Au Petit Cafe. We went around 2pm and it was empty at the time but two tables came in after us. The server we had was new and it was her first day! She was really friendly and the other lady helping her (I think she might be the owner) was also really nice.
The new managers have really really turned this place around!! Super tasty food, great prices and friendly staff. If you are looking for great sushi definitely check them out. I have been 2 times in 3 days!! The staff remember your name, order and greet with you a smile everytime which is a nice change. The fish is super fresh and not "fishy" tasting in the slightest. I highly recommend the "Aburi" sushi which is their grilled sushi.
Great value, friendly team, fresh ingredients! Nice new decor as of Nov 2016 and new owners/team. Sushi Chef Danny, wife (server) Joyce, so enthusiastic as is Kitchen Chef Ken. Great value combination I had: Handy Roll $9 (california, dynamite, yam long rolls (uncut) on beautiful plate) - what a meal! My daughter had a simple chicken roll and Kelly added a nice pretty salad too. Glad to have these guys in the neighbourhood! Roll party tray very affordable too, had one done for party on Dec 23. Very affordable and good sushi. Previous owners made a different thickness (more rice) sushi. So good now!

This is my first time using Zomato and had to register just to write a review about the amazing restaurant I've experienced today. It's Sushi Hub in Vancouver. I had a doctor's appointment and had to grab lunch for my self and kids. Had to go get my kids so I asked the server which food will come out fast. She suggested some rolls that are fully cooked for my kids. I ordered brown hub, volcano hub and aburi ebi oshi sushi. Brown hub was with cooked eel and prawns and volcano had scallops on top. We really like the smoky flavor of scallops. My kids loved ebi oshi sushi. They are still young to have raw fish, but ebi oshi was all cooked and even had cheese flavor . The best thing about the place was the server offered chocolate and candy for my kids and free miso soup. Another surprise thing was that there was small salad from the chef saying thank you. Dressing was so tasty. I didn't know but realized that Sushi Hub just opened 2 weeks ago. Their food was excellent and very fresh. Thank you and i'm coming back with my husband and kids. i really wanted to share the experience with everyone.
I had chicken teriyaki bowl with my co worker. It was so good. Yummy and got miso soup for free. Nice and lady was very friendly and sweet.
Aburi oshi salmon sushi and aburi oshi negitoro were awesome! I personally liked Barbie Hub roll and Ken Hub roll. My little girl loved it.

I came here for dinner with a friend. We didn't reserve a table before we came. We thought the restaurant would be busy but it was ok to wait for a table. In return, the restaurant was not busy at all. A server greeted us and gave us a table right away. The servers were Korean speaking but they could speak English. Their service was great and very polite. They always checked on our table during the meal, added tea to our cups and cleaned up our table by taking away empty dishes.
We ordered four dishes of food: two pieces of chopped scallop nigiri sushi, salmon poke, appetizer tempura (2 prawns and 3 veggies) and kiss of fire roll. All of them tasted great. The chopped scallop nigiri sushi was quite big. Yum!
The meal was not expensive. Average price was $17 per person including tax and tip. I always put the same comment for the restaurants here. There are so many Japanese restaurants in Greater Vancouver. If this restaurant wants to stay competitive and do well in the market, they need to continue providing great service and great food. They may want to do more promotions and take advantages to advertise online for free like using the social media channels.
The ambiance was ok. The environment was clean and organized. But I didn't have a "wow" feeling toward the interior design or decorations in the restaurant.
If you are in this neighbourhood, feel free to try this restaurant. There is street parking on Main Street or the small streets.
I absolutely love this restaurant. The quality of the food and presentation is excellent. It is really an undiscovered gem - one of the best sushi restaurants I have been to for a very reasonable price!
