Undeniably dimsum is meant to be enjoyed in a group, we went only with 2 people.

Everything here is bigger than the original one, but still the taste is nice. The durian mochi is quite expensive but it's magical. I really recommend people who can bear the smell try this. The harcow was nice too. The glutinous rice was a bit weird... The Xiao long bao was a bit let down though, there was no juice coming out. But overall, we had a great lunch with only $12 par. Next time, I'll bring a crowd here.

The only upsetting thing is the staffs are all Hong Kong people. They used their language with my Taiwanese friend and we don't really understand anything. But the food communicated for itself.

4/5 [Good parking in front]I had the chance to check out a Chopstick fest participating restaurant thanks to my friends at Tangoo. Two dishes in particular stood out to me, so I will review those first!!. (EXCLUSIVE TO CHOPSTICK FEST) Mountain Crab/ 塔蟹 . Nicely seasoned, awesome plating of crispy crab. I really liked the fried onion pieces on the bottom as well. Overall, awesome dish. Not spicy.

went here on a weekend lunch and a big, huge group of crowd, and went for a very very lots of options dim sum. overall love the flavour of each of the items, nothing went off the hill, some are average but some are great, overall most of the items are a good choice, however the bill is sort of in the slightly above than my go to cheap dimsum options as well. but overall i do think it's a very good fix for dimsum cravings here if you can shell out more $$ as well.

one of my favourite is the custard bun :00 not many dimsum places have it, and the one over here is definitely okay/good

Dimsum in a convenient location! My friends and I decided to make a last-minute decision to go for a fast dimsum lunch, and I was definitely surprised at how friendly and fast the service is here.

We ordered the shrimp dumplings, BBQ pork buns, steamed spareribs, chinese donuts, salt & pepper tofu and tripe. My personal highlight was the tripe as it wasn't as fatty as some other places and the flavour wasn't as overwhelming or garlicy. However, I did find the portion of the tofu to be slightly smaller than what I was expecting.

Would definitely come back here because of its convenience and accessibility. They also have a deal for dimsum before 10/11am, so will definitely wake up earlier next time!

Theyre now under new management (Again) and they have quite a variety of dimsum items that i have yet to seen elsewhere like smoked salmon salad on crispy wonton skins and they even had steamed mushroom buns that were shaped like shiitake mushrooms! So adorable!

My first meal at a dim sum house. Look, I have not led a sheltered life, but I haven't eaten at a restaurant specializing in dim sum before. So I jumped at the chance to go to Golden Lake for Saturday brunch with a food fanatic group I belong to. I was there as much to learn about the vibe of this kind of restaurant as I was to eat dim sum. It was fun to do this as part of a dozen people at the table, because we wound up ordering 36 dishes (some duplicates) and nine plates of dessert.

Pluses for me were the taro/pork dumplings because I liked the crunch of the fried taro that coated the outside like shredded wheat. The prawns with walnuts were so good that everybody else cleaned off the two plates of that before I got a chance to eat any :-( The onion pancakes had a nice fried dough texture but no onions that I could detect, and the chicken sausage version of cha siu bao were too white-flour gloopy for me. Overall, everybody at our ethnically mixed table, including the Asians, was satisfied with the food.

Because this was my first time, I don't know if it's traditional for the food deliverers -- I wouldn't elevate their status by calling them "waiters" -- to just dump the food dishes on the Lazy Susan as abruptly as they could. Everything came in a rush, waves of plates. It felt like we were hogs they were slopping. Maybe they rushed because it was such a busy place. Golden Lake is popular at lunch! The managerial staffers who took our order and settled our bills were polite and efficient. I'd go back, if I could find 11 other people to join me.

Decent dim sum for the Burnaby area. And the service was attentive and friendlier than the usual Chinese restaurant.

Its not a bad restaurant but when it's busy, it's chaotic lol. The food is delicious but as mentioned by others, the service is inconsistent everytime we come

10 Course Set Dinner. Stopped in for a traditional 10 course dinner to celebrate Chinese new year. Of course the restaurant was extremely busy.

And despite a smaller table for our party of 10 (it was intended for 8) and a real hectic - middle of room location w/ servers squeezin-by, bumpin-into and a slow start. Everything ended up fine and food was delivered tasty.

Notable - this place has nicer plates and bowls than most Chinese restaurants

I’m going to be honest – the food here is passable. It’s decent, but not great. The food tastes like, well what its suppose to taste like, but the taste of the food at Golden Lake Seafood Restaurant does not separate itself from other Chinese restaurants. With the sea of Chinese seafood restaurants in Vancouver, to set yourself apart the restaurant needs to execute the food better than the next restaurant. I did not feel like that was the case for Golden Lake Seafood Restaurant.

Dim sum is the Asian version of brunch, but available every day of the week. It brings in morning business to Chinese restaurants that specialize in dinners. "Dim Sum" literally means "small plates" and that is exactly what you get from this experience. You choose from a list of options or pull plates off carts when they are pushed by. Today at "Golden Lake Seafood" we were enjoying the former. The great feature here is that their menu options are listed in English and Chinese with accompanying pictures. This allows for ease of ordering for those not familiar with Chinese, and lures others to order more based on how delicious they look in their picture. We made sure to come in before 11am to take advantage of their Dim Sum special. Monday to Friday, 20% off all food between 9am, when they open, until 11am when they start serving lunch. Judging "Golden Lake" based on its exterior, I walked in expecting an old run down and cliche Chinese restuarnt. I got the cliche part correct, but was

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve been to Golden Lake in the past year or so– including both dim sum and dinner visits, I’d ballpark it around a dozen. For my family, that’s a lot, since we tend not to go out to Chinese restaurants too often (it’s usually just my mom and I, and you can’t really order much if there’s only 2 people eating it). This time around though, we went with my dad and Samson, to enjoy the short Alaskan King Crab season, which runs roughly from the middle of February to mid-March, depending on the amount of crabs shipped over. My mom, dad and I actually wanted some king crab last week, but as it was just the three of us (and we weren’t feeling exceptionally hungry), we decided to wait a week so that Samson could join us too. Our visit wasn’t all for nothing, as we did have one of my all-time favourite dishes,  Peking Duck ($26.99/2 courses) !   Here, they bring out the entire roast duck and slice it for you at the table– a little entertainment to go with your

The ones we ordered arrived piping hot, crisp and flavorful. The portions were also a good size. The filling had curry in it as well, not overpowering but a good change from the ones I generally eat at dims sum restaurants.
