Service was good, food & drink were good. Would be happy to go there again.
Awesome place to watch sports, eat amazing food and drink quality beer! Dima is the hardest working man in the business!

We have had many meals here! It's a great environment, we are comfortable taking out teenage daughters here. Today was our youngest 15th birthday and she was given the opportunity to choose where we had dinner and she chose "the pub!" It was great as always! ☺️
We came here by chance on a Sunday for brunch as well we're walking around looking for a place to eat. The best deal is the two eggs with a protein, hash browns and toasts - very cheap. We also tried the smoked salmon on a bagel with cream cheese - it was also very good.
Before going to his meeting he dropped me off in some random grocery store parking lot (thanks a lot Dad) and told me I had an hour to eat LOL. The only restaurants in sight was a Subway, Starbucks, and The Dunbar Public House! I couldn't wander too far because my dad was coming to pick me up in less than an hour. Sure, I could've gone to Subway, but what fun would that be? Not that I have anything against Subway, they make half-decent sandwiches...but that wouldn't make for a very interesting blog post would it? Or maybe it would ;) Like that time I blogged about McDonalds, that was pretty fun (fun as in vomit inducing) But I gotta admit, I still like McDs (should I be ashamed?) but only their fries & fillet o fish and their breakfasts...especially their hashbrowns hehe! HEY...we all have our weaknesses okay?! ;) There was a sushi restaurant nearby, but since it was only 10:50, they were still closed! Drat! I didn't have time to go to Jethro's, which was just a few blocks away! So I went to the Dunbar for an early brunch of booze (just kidding) and burgers!! Nothing like a hunky ol' burger to start your day! I don't go to pubs very often (as in never) because I don't drink, so I totally forgot how overpriced pub food can get LOL. All the burgers on their menu were priced at $15+, which is pretty expensive considering I can probably get a gourmet burger for about the same price. So I decided to channel my Dad and went for the kobe just so I could get my money's worth ;) Kobe Beef Burger $15.50 2/5 stars The burger wasn't anything fancy, it came with your usual fixings of mayo, onions, pickles, (I asked them to omit the tomato and lettuce) but it was still decent...standard pub fare! The patty was charred b
Had a good beer. It was a fun place to have a beer or two.
Really GOOD!. Was worried from some of the other reviews, but it was Cute, Nice Patio, the Servers were very friendly and professional and the food was great! My husband had the Cajun Chicken burger and it was fresh, and delicious. We talked a little with the new Manager and he seemed great. Maybe the others should give it another try? Either way, we'll be back! #dothedunbar
Worth a visit. I've discovered the place about two months ago, from a recommendation of a friend. A great place to hang out - delicious food, friendly service, great atmosphere. Highly recommended!
The staff here are excellent. I enjoy watching the Canucks game here, especially with their pick a puck game. You pick a puck out of a bucket, they all have players names written on them, if your player scored they but you your next drink! I have to say that the best time to go is during the summer, fantastic patio.
Excellent Local Pub. The Dunbar Public House is a great local pub to enjoy great food, a nice beer with good friends. The service is excellent. I especially like their burgers and house cut fries. Best in town! New salads on the menu too are fantastic. I will be going back with my girls.
Perfect Saturday. Took my visiting inlaws here. The food and service was excellent. Everything was fresh and hot with all our food arriving together. The clubhouse and Montreal smoked meat sandwiches were awesome. Great place to drink and people watch
Cozy place withe friendly staff and great food. We enjoy this place. Fantastic service, always. Really enjoy their menu, especially their Tuna bites, and their spicy chicken penne. Good selection of drinks. And you can sit outside all year round! (in the winter they have very strong heat lamps and blankets!).
I'm not sure where the negative reviews come from! We've been several times and have always found the food to be very good. The tuna bites and their spinach salad are excellent. We will go back again!
GREAT !!!!!!!. This is the spot for a great time ! Good food and great staff make this a Dunbar oasis !!! You will enjoy yourself just mosey on up to the bar and jump right into the conversation as the pepole here are some of the friendliest in town ! The staff ,esp Kim,and Mike and the owner Dima rock!!! No request will seem out of order and they will make sure you have a great time ! !!!!!!!!!!!!! Great summertime patio with sun all day !!! Tell them Anthony recommended them !!
Food good, service awesome. For a couple of months, we had been looking for a place that could accommodate our softball team. Usually, the biggest problem at other restaurants was, due to the size of our group (approx 10 to 15 people each Thursday), we found the service incredibly slow. Or the food was bad (good pub food is hard to find), or it was expensive. Yesterday, just because it was in the neighbourhood, we decided to try the Dunbar. We were lucky enough to score seats on their lovely patio. We liked the menu and the drinks looked tasty. I have to say, not only was our server incredibly friendly and fabulous, but we received our food promptly, which is the first time for us at any restaurant so far. Our food and bevvies were great (everything was fresh and tasty), our server followed up to ensure that we had everything we needed, and she gave us individual cheques as asked. We are now planning to make this place our regular team hangout. I would highly recommend it. Great atmosphere! Great staff!
A good strategy for dining out is to set yourself up for success. We had only 30 minutes for a quick snack, and so when we sat down, we asked the bartender/server (it was 4 in the afternoon) if we had enough time. She said it was possible, depending on what we ordered. We decided on a sandwich and a drink. The drink came right away and the food, about 10 minutes later. That gave us just enough time to eat the tasty sandwich. Since we asked for the cheque when the food came, paying was quick (cash helps), and we were out of there right on time. No fuss, no muss.
Great experience!. I came into The Dunbar one evening after a truly horrendous day at work, and the experience turned around my day in a matter of minutes. The bartender (Mike) was very nice and prompt, and I had that oh-so-important cold beer right away. He also chatted me up and made me feel comfortable in my new surroundings. There were a number of "regulars" at the bar, and they were very kind and friendly too. Both the staff (I believe the cute, young server's name was Sarah), and the regulars included me in their conversations, and I will undoubtedly go back soon. It seems like the place where "everyone knows your name".
CHEERS,
Curly
Hot hot hot. Staff is great, quick service and cute, food is good even for a pub, thier hambugers are good just plain and that is a sign of a great burger. will come back from burnaby just for the burger and cold beer.
