Quality of the food is okay, but the price for what you get is pretty worth it. I believe each order comes with soup of your choice and a fortune cookie, and the portions are quite big; I had to pack and share my portion. I would definitely come back just because it's convenient and relatively cheap.
This place has been on the same block for a while, but in the past year it has moved a few stores down to a larger location.
I had never tried the food here, but I saw a lineup while driving by. However, when I did finally get to coming here, it was pretty dead. They did have some people coming to grab pickup as they give ten percent off.
The food itself was well presented, although a bit oily. That being said, the oil that they use to fry with seems pretty new and not brown or full of carcinogenic bits. I ordered the combination dinner for one and also a bowl of rice. The portions were decent, however it was a bit pricey. You could rationalise the cost by thinking of it as two nine dollar dishes one one plate instead of one eighteen dollar dish. The ginger beef was really good but some of the green beans were really tough. Overall this is a good place for greasy Chinese food, but stay away if you're looking for a healthy meal.
This place was closed for a week before labor day. We ordered the various lunch plates, most of which are quite reasonable in terms of price and portion size. The dishes are also quite reasonable in terms of taste.
I love the Ginger & Chili. It's been my Chinese go-to for years. Fresh, clean, no msg, beautifully prepared food at very reasonable cost - I like everything about it. I'm posting now because there are no recent reviews & they've just moved two doors down the street so they now have an upstairs & an outdoor patio too. Highly recommended. Enjoy!
Back on top. We've been eating here for 10 plus years. They kinda went down hill a couple of years ago, but our friends ate their awhile back and said it was delish. We went back for a birthday gathering last night and are very happy to say it is back to being the excellent food from when we first found it. Will be our go to Szechuan restaurant once again!!!
Consistently good. G&C is the best closest Chinese restaurant to where I live. It's good for a change of pace if you get tired of Cantonese. I like the orange peel chicken and the ginger beef. The beef chow mein is good.
I like going to the restaurant to eat, but takeout is another story. I don't usually bother with the door buzzer, but have delivery people call my cell and I go down to pick it up. They took down my number wrong this time.
So by the time they figured it out, I went downstairs to find an angry man squatting in front of my door. He lost his cool and yelled at me about the buzzer. This made a bad impression. Where's the customer service? A polite mention would have been much better.
Fresh and the Best. I've been ordering my chinese from here for well over 10 years and have always been really happy with it and highly recommend it. I've ordered take-out and have sat in the restaurant with friends and they really enjoyed it as well.
Family-run Restaurant. A charming family-run restaurant with generous portion sizes and very nice food. I have come here for years to enjoy the basics: perfect light broth stock for their won ton soup, excellent szechuan green beans, a light hand on the spice for General Tso's.
Some restaurants, in the face of rising costs, will reduce portion sizes in an effort to keep prices steady. The trouble with this strategy is that they alienate long-time customers while still only reducing food costs; what of overhead costs such as rent or labour? We're happy to report that Ginger and Chili has taken a different route. Prices, while not high, are slightly more than one might expect. The portion sizes, however, are generous. Our visit today featured efficient and pleasant service, as well as delicious food, in a comfortable room. As a bonus they have draught beer, bottled beer and wine.
Have been coming here for years. Excellent! However, I don't think they do dim sum .
Good food.. good value. This is one of my local restaurants and I have eaten here a few times. The portions are large and the tastes are spot on. The most recent time my wife and I both had soup. The portions for a bowl were enourmous and the quality was good. I use Wonton soup as a benchmark... tasty, large pasta based shapes nice taste and no chemicals... my head was not buzzing afterward.
I have been there and had a variety of dishes.. no let downs. Overall, good value for money
