M was craving some Taiwanese noodle soup so I went to my trusty Van adviser and was told to check out Wang’s Beef Noodle House. It’s located right beside a VPL branch. Hours are long and consistent. We dropped in on a late Wednesday evening (around 9:00pm) and the place was about a third full. No frills but it’s clean and with lots of seating. Service is fast and efficient; I liked how they came back several times to fill up our tea cups.
Amazing and consistent every time. We are always seated promptly and the service is on point and friendly! I always get the spicy beef brisket noodle soup. The soup is concentrated, deep, rich and delicious in flavour. it tastes like its been simmering away for hours. The noodles are chewy and the perfect al dente. Not sure if they make them but they taste home made. The beef is SO soft and tastes like its been sous vide! Just so tender, fall apart and flavourful. It's always a mind blowing experience every time. The last time we went we also ordered the salt and peppery fried chicken. I've had this at many restaurants and they don't compare. Their's is hot, fresh, so juicy and the batter is light and crunchy. Also ordered the fried squid. Squid is tender and the batter is again light and crunchy. I dont know how they do it, but i certainly hope it never changes.. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Wang's Taiwan Beef Noodle House 王記台灣牛肉麵 is located on Granville Street and West 68th Avenue at the Marpole area in Vancouver.
An authentic Taiwanese beef noodle house. I love their noodles after trying the Dan Dan Noodle 四川擔擔麵. You can choose to pick any kind of noodles you want, and I have tried the thick noodle. It was nice and bouncy. Delicious ! 😋

The dan dan noodles are very good here. The sauce is rich and creamy, with the consistency being just right. It's liquid enough for you to mix with the noodles, and viscous enough to stick on the noodles. The noodles too, so good. Nice and thick, bouncy.
The cold cucumbers are well seasoned and tasted pretty darn good too. It has the noticeable flavours of chilli and and sesame. Less noticeably garlic and vinegar. My friends who came all said that these are their now fave cucumbers. However, I prefer the cold cucumbers at Lao Shan Dong because they are much crispier, my preferred texture. I wouldn't describe the cucumbers here as crispy.
My friends all had the n.1 beef noodle, and the one friend who loved eating at the Cambie location (now closed) mentioned that the soup here wasn't as great. That's up to debate.
Came here for a late dinner around 9:30pm. Found out that they close at 11:30pm on Tuesday nights, which is pretty late for that area. Perfect for an after-movie bite.
Service was also attentive, as our tea was always refilled. There were about three or four other tables dining in when we were there. The place seems to be a popular takeout option too.
I would come here again, if just for their dan dan noodle. Though, still gotta compare that beef noodle!
Wang’s Taiwan Beef Noodle House Review
I have traveled to 20 countries around the world. I been to Taiwan, China and Hong Kong. I been to places where Minnan or Hokien People live like Xiamen, Fukien Province in China. My Family comes from the Philippines. I am a Chinese-Filipino who like in Vancouver for a long time. Wang’s Taiwan Beef Noodle House a little different from the food I ate in Taipei. The food in this restaurant is a little different from the food I ate in Xiamen. Hokien Food in different from Taiwanese food. There is a different taste in the food from Chinese food in Hong Kong, in Fukien Province, in Guangdong Province and in Taiwan.
I go to this place time to time only, I enjoy the food that have more spices in it then dishes with less spice in it. I like the friendly staff. The place is very clean and the food is freshly cooked. The prices are not very expensive, but not cheap for noodle soup. The food you eat is not like the one a person would eat from a fast food place. If you are in a rush go to another restaurant and be careful if you order spicy hot.
That all for now.

Great place! I love Taiwanese beef noodles and this one was one of the best I've ever had. The Taiwanese beef noodles is very authentic and just like the ones I get in Taiwan
Wang’s Taiwan Beef Noodle House has been one of the long standing restaurants in the Marpole area. Located at Granville and West 68th, Wang’s serves customers 7 days a week from morning till late night (9 am – 11 pm). They also have a second location near Cambie and 16th. When the weather cooled off this week, I decided to give their Marpole location a try as I was in the mood for something hearty.
Wang’s Taiwan Beef Noodle House has been around for a while. It is located right beside the Vancouver Public Library on Granville St. It’s been at least three years since I’ve visited this restaurant, but nothing much has changed. There is still that back alley parking lot that is tricky to maneuver in and out. The restaurant itself has been slightly renovated (I think). It is just clean enough, and spacious enough for family/casual dining; nothing more, nothing less.
I personally love beef noodles because they are inexpensive, filling, hearty, and (probably) healthy. If you are a fan of Vietnamese pho, then chances are you will love Taiwanese beef noodle as well.
Looking at their menu, they offered a comprehensive list of noodles with varying broths and toppings (meats and cuts). Small bowls are around $8.50; whereas, large bowls are around $10.50. Tonight we ordered two small beef noodles:
Braised Beef Brisket & Tendon Noodle/紅燒半筋半肉麵 ($8.50)
Broth: Rich in beef flavour with a hint of spiciness. It is a little bit on the salty side, but still very satisfying to consume on a winter night.
Noodles: We chose the wide noodles (you may also pick thin noodles or vermicelli). To borrow a Chinese term, the noodles were very “Q”. In other words, they were firm to the bite, but also containing enough “bounce”.
Toppings: Tendons were very good, as they were thoroughly cooked. They were very soft, and have absorbed all the flavours from the broth. On the other hand, the briskets were so-so. They weren’t chewy or anything, but just a bit lackluster. Finally, the pickled mustard greens were a welcoming touch, as they cut the richness of the broth.
Clear Stewed Beef Noodle Soup/清燉牛肉麵($8.50)
Someone once told me that if a restaurant is willing to serve clear stewed beef noodle soup, that means they have enough confidence in their ingredients and cooking techniques.
Broth: Technically, this was more of a regular beef noodle soup without the braising (紅燒) seasonings. The clear stewed beef noodle soups I’ve had in other places had much purer/clearer broths (almost like consomme, if you will). This one wasn’t bad, it was just a bit murky. Without the stronger seasonings, the herbal tastes were more pronounced. I had a lingering aftertaste in my mouth for a couple of hours after eating.
Noodles: Same as above.
Toppings: Beef briskets were flavourful, and tender. I’m not sure why this batch was better than the one in the other bowl.

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit here!
We ordered a three-way appetizer to share (consisting of tripe, pig's ear, and pig intestine). The only complaint is that some of the items were warm, while others were cold... leading to some odd mash-up of taste and flavours.
The beef noodles were SO GOOD. However, (and I don't know if this is the traditional way) we would've preferred if the coriander, pickled vegetables and other add-ins came separately. It really took away the natural hearty taste of the beef in the dish. Nonetheless, it was a truly filling meal (we had lunch here, but were so full that we couldn't even stomach dinner afterwards) and very delicious!
I ordered the deep fried pork chop with noodle. It's supposed to be small, but the portion is still too big for me. It's just so unsatisfying to not have Cho around to eat with me. I can't finish my food without her. I love my thick noodle. Juicy thick deep fried pork! I love fried food!. Wang's Taiwan Beef Noodle House is at point V in the list "Places Part 1" on the map.
Consistently good beef noodle! Hearty beef broth and tender meat. Thick noodle goes well. Only complaint is that this location only accepts cash.
I LIKE THE FOOD!!!. I ordered the hot and sourer soup and chives pancakes. I really like them.
I have tired chives pancakes in many restaurant in Vancouver and Richmond,
wang's chives pancakes are the YUMMIEST one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They have new feature: beef pancake and pork pancake, I will try them next time :p
Great food, poor service. I come here often for lunch because I love their beef noodle soup. However, the servers here are awful. After you order, they avoid making eye contact with you so it can be difficult to get their attention. You often have to ask them numerous times just to get a refill on tea or the bill.
The food is good but the service needs improvement especially when the restaurant isn't busy-specifically the night shift on Saturday night.
Hits the spot. The taiwanese beef noodles here really hit the spot. the beef broth is rich and flavorful....i'm drooling as i'm typing right now lol. their pork potstickers are also kick ass. horrible service but really good authentic food here.
Yum. Good portion sizes, fried tofu was pretty good, mango slush was decent, and the servers understood my English for once. Overall, a good experience and would come back.
Good Cheap Eats!. Whenever I'm in the area and I'm craving for some taiwanese goodness, this is my default. Beef Brisket Thick noodles with spicy sauce on side.
Authentic and reminds me of the taiwanese street stalls. BEST noodles in vancouver!
Very Authentic-Good Restaurant. Tried this place after driving by for years. Was pleasantly surprised by the attractiveness of the interior (very modern and airy). Was busy around lunch but seated shortly and order placed efficiently.
Had the beef with thick noodles and this was tasty and spot-ON. Also shared a pancake & beef with companion and this too was nice.
All-in-all, a nice dining experience
A SOUPERIOR EATERY. I love this spot. I have eaten here many, many times. Even though I live in Winnipeg, I have eaten here more than most Vancouverites I know. I spend a lot of time on the west coast due to business and all of my immediate family live on the coast, so there are always opportunities for me to spend time there. Various family members and friends love when I go to the coast because they know I'll take them to Wang's Beef Noodle House. I started going there years ago when it was called Taiwan Beef Noodle House. It has always been awesome. It's the first place I hit when I arrive in Vancouver, it's open late, well after midnight, so it doesn't matter what time I get into town. They offer soups with three different noodle types, wide or thin. The short rib soup is a favourite, but all the soups are fantastic. But I really go there for the dumplings. The wantons in chili sauce are absolutely incredible, as are the beef dumplings, a rarity to find beef dumplings in an Asian eatery. They serve a good selection of dumplings including a scallion variety. I like the room too, it's has a contemporary clean look. Besides my family and business Wang's is one of the biggest reasons I enjoy going to Vancouver. And even my family and friends out there know I visit Wang's before I visit them. But they don't mind because they know I'll be bringing them take out from there.
One of the very few good Taiwanese restaurant in town.
Sit down fast food. Wang's has some of the best noodle dishes in town, they are tasty and has an extensive menu, the dumplings are also great, the fried pork dumplings comes with a great garlic sauce, the service is terrible and if you do not know Chinese you might also have some problems ordering, sometimes best just to point but the food is good and comes quickly.
Best Noodles. This place has the best braised beef noodle soup!! Have it with their crispy green onion pancakes and shanghai steamer dumplings and it's a perfect meal.
Cheap and super, super yummy.
Today’s lunch is at Wang’s Taiwanese Beef Noodle House, a well known restaurant near Granville and West 70th Ave. There is a second location on Cambie Street. Free parking is plenty both within its own lot and on the streets. Like most Taiwanese restaurants, it features a very signature dish– beef brisket noodle soup. The menu offers other items such as bubble tea, beef and onion pancakes, dumplings, deep fried chicken nuggets and other Taiwanese snacks. It’s open late for snacking and is the go-to place for many students and pajama-wearing locals. My momand I ordered almost the same thing– Beef noodles in soup , except she had vermicelli and I had thin noodles . A small is $7.80 while about $1 more. It is a cost effective meal . Beef Noodles in Soup – thin noodles Let’s break down the soups! Both bowls visibly include beef shank, Chinese pickled cabbage, scallions, and cilantro . The Taiwanese beef noodle recipe can b
...our bowls of Beef Noodle in Soup were pretty darn delicious. The tender beef shank soaked up the flavourful broth like a sponge. What’s more, there were so many nuggets of beef that I actually had trouble finishing my large bowl. However, I did find myself quite thirsty after my meal, so it probably had quite a bit of MSG.
This noodle place has been open for nearly 10 years as far as I can remember. One of the original Taiwanese noodle place in Metro Vancouver. It is used to be on Main street which was my favorite too. They often offer something special from time to time li
i always order either the beef ball noodles or beef noodle soup and i absolutely love the taste of the noodles. people may come to wang’s beef noodle house for the beef but i’m coming for the noodles. the spice is indeed there so people who can take lots
I glanced at the menu only to find the liangmian and immediately ordered a bowl. The Boyfriend had been hoping to order salt and pepper chicken (鹽酥雞) but it wasn't on the menu. The waitress recommended him (through me) several dishes, so here's the scoop
The first time I tried Taiwan beef noodle was in Taiwan. I liked it so much that when I got back to Vancouver, I went looking for a Taiwan noodle house here. As luck would have it, I found one of the best in the city. The place is called Taiwan Beef Noodl
