Marulilu cafe is similar to Moii cafe nearby. They are both Japanese themed cafe except one focus on breakfast while the other focus on crepe and bubble tea. I came here a couple of times and really enjoyed their all-day breakfast. Both of these cafes have really thoughtful decorations or tableware that would make you smile. Marulilu cafe is located right on Broadway, near Cambie Street, Vancouver.
This is a small Japanese cafe located on Broadway, right across from the skytrain station. They have a very large menu of various Japanese fare as well as Western food. You order at the front counter and they bring the food to your table. I had their Breakfast Plate C. The food didn't blow me away, but was very good, and very reasonably priced. Even though there wasn't really much service per se, the staff was also very friendly. I definitely recommend checking this place out. Just be warned: seating is limited, so you might need to wait if you go at peak hours.
Breakfast Plate C w/Waffle ($11.99):
3.5/5
This comes with 2 small waffles, 2 eggs, 2 hashbrowns, and your choice of either bacon, ham or sausage; I had the sausage. The waffles were served with syrup and whipped cream. I did find them to be a little too dry and dense for my liking. The eggs and sausage were standard. I really enjoyed the hashbrowns though, which were very crispy.

This little bistro is situated by the Cambie station and offering home style Japanese dishes.
We ordered their authentic Oyako Don and Garlic Omi Rice with squid and nato on the side. The Don was well seasoned and Omi Rice was wrapped with thin layer of egg served with garlic/ tomato sauce and salad. The squid was nicely coated. Nato has always been our favourite.
The seating is limited so be prepared to wait.
A place to start your day with by having breakfast at this place will add some fun to your day!
One can choose from variety of options. Spend some time with food here and get to know your inner strength.
My return is guaranteed.
We came here for lunch that it was around 2pm, so we didn't have to wait for a table. We could just grab one and sat wherever we wanted. Usually there must be waiting during lunch hours.
All servers were friendly and nice. They gave us a menu right after we sat down. We had to order the food at the cashier instead of the server to take the orders at our table.
We ordered omu hayashi rice and Japanese style breakfast. Everything tasted good and was above average. The chef cooked quickly and our dishes came to our table quickly as well. The restaurant is very small having limited tables and chairs.
They also had a good drink menu. They have a couple drinks every month. I tried their royal milk tea latte after lunch. The royal milk tea latte was alright.
The only thing I didn't like was the tables and chairs that were really close by each other. I visited the washroom as well. It was quite messy (haha). I wish their bathroom was a little more clean and organized.
This Japanese restaurant is quite unique that you cannot find any other ones like this on West Broadway or in this neighbourhood. It is worth a visit and try their food.
Marulilu Cafe is a small but very likable Japanese joint, where you can enjoy humble, tasty home style cooking. I like how they serve the donburi in a small ceramic cooking pot, keeping the food warm and comforting. And it does make a good spot for a casual date over breakfast in the morning or dessert in the afternoon.
Authentic Japanese Yoshoku. The Hiyashi beef sauce is full of flavor, the omu-rice is well made. The rice burger is good but I wish there were a bit more meat. Eggs bennies were superb.
August 2017
Finally tried their Japanese breakfast set, with rice, miso, grilled salmon, effective omelette and natto. Very refreshing and light for a breakfast, natto is definitely an acquired taste but really interesting to try. Salmon was good in portion size and tasty, nothing outstanding. Good value for this breakfast, very homey.
May 2017
Returned this time for the chicken and mushroom don! Quite good, very flavourful especially with the sauce on rice. My favourite part was the wild mushrooms! Looking forward to trying katsudon next time.
The boyfriend's hayashi omurice was also quite good, but the hayashi stewed beef may have been too flavourful and rich for breakfast. He prefers the regular omurice.
I haven't been to this place for a while, but I used to thoroughly enjoy their japanese style breakfast with an order of a matcha latte. It is delicious, light and well-priced. The combination of miso soup, egg, tofu with a ginger-onion mash, salmon and rice is very satisfying. For those who like natto, you have the option of replacing the tofu with it. The atmosphere is friendly and intimate, bustling and unassuming.
First time there since 3 years ago and the price for takoyaki is still the same. The taste and quality are also the same which I'm very impressed with. Very friendly and attentive waitresses. And I always loved the quiet atmosphere presented at the café. Will be back very soon for more takoyaki 😊
We decided to try this little Cafe out for brunch after searching what was good around the area.. Cute little Cafe and food was good! They have a huge menu so it was a little difficult to decide on what to eat. My bf ordered the garlic omurice and I ordered a breakfast combo with Waffles and a matcha latte. Place gets busy and might be difficult to find seating..
Been here first time. Small restaurant, so my friends and I walked pass it and didn't notice when we were looking for it. They serve mostly traditional Japanese dishes. Food is good.
This place is super adorable and vegetarian friendly :) The service is quick and on point despite the place being small, and there are so many options to choose from. I went here for brunch, and it was still quite busy. I'm very satisfied with the portions; they serve a lot of curry on the plate.
A friend of mine was recently reading my review on Shishinori where I expressed my delight at the idea of Japanese brunch. He mentioned that another Japanese restaurant that does breakfast is Marulilu Cafe. The name of the restaurant sounded familiar, but it wasn’t until I looked up its location online that I realized that I stare directly at it every time that I exit the Canada line at Broadway and Cambie. Coincidentally only a few days later Mango Chutney asked me if I’d like to visit the restaurant with him one afternoon. Another chance to try out Japanese brunch? Don’t mind if I do!
The servers are all super nice and ever since they installed air-conditioning this has become one of my favourite breakfast/lunch places. The exteriors are unassuming and just facing the skytrain station. Their menu had cute Japanese cartoons on it and makes the environment feel more homey and comfy.
The tastiest things on their menu are their katsu sandwiches. Next thing most people get is their breakfast plate that comes with a delicious crispy soft waffle! It comes with a dollop of real whipped cream and chocolate whipped cream. I come here if I want to have a pick-me-up. 😊 They also make a really great cappuccino (better than neighbouring cafes like Elysian, Cittadella, Starbucks, etc..)
I’ve passed by the cozy looking Marulilu Cafe many time before and I finally went! It’s right across from the Broadway and Cambie Canada Line station. The space inside is a bit tight and you order and pay at the counter first and they will bring the food to you. You can also help yourself to some water on the counter.
A cute little café on West Broadway, always a busy spot on the weekends. It is a self-serve place where you have to order and pay first at the cashier and then the food will arrive at your table. We tried the Omu-Hayashi rice and the two rice burger combo for lunch. For drinks we had the Hojicha latte and the Belgium chocolate mocha.
The Omu-Hayashi rice for $10.99 was a generous serving of Japanese sushi rice covered with a thin omelet blanket, demi-glace sauce with beef chunks and a generous portion of salad w/ sesame dressing and a large miso soup. Loved everything about this dish, there was lots of sauce leftover to each another bowl of the rice in! In the rice burger combo, the bun was made from cooked sushi rice that has been lightly pan fried, a bit small in size, one came w/ sukiyaki sliced beef and mushroom filling and another with pork and kimchi filling. Both fillings were a bit stingy and lacked sauce so became a bit dry to eat by itself, we ended up dipping it into the leftover demi-glace.
The Hojicha latte was quite bland imo, not the usual green tea taste you would find, very mild tasting, has more of a nutty flavor, $3 is quite a fair price. The colour of the Belgium chocolate mocha was beautiful, the Belgium chocolate had a very rich chocolate flavor. I noticed many other customers ordered the traditional Japanese breakfast so I may try that next.
Marulilu is this very cheap, super cute, tiny all-day-breakfast cafe, opposite the Broadway City Hall skytrain station. Their menu is so expansive, there's always something new you haven't yet tried! So when my friend proposed we go out for a Sunday brunch, this is where we went.
It's tiny, perhaps seats at most 20 at a time, and very easy to miss if you aren't looking out for it. Today, with the blinds down, it was even harder to tell that it was open! They almost always get crowded during breakfast hours on weekends, but luckily for us, we didn't have to wait too long :)
Last time I had tried their rice bowls - they are great! - so this time I went for the Irish lamb stew with toast, and a hot chocolate with whipped cream.
Two of my friends went for the breakfast plates with waffles and one ordered the Japanese breakfast platter. For $10.49, the breakfast platter with waffles is enormous. Apt for putting yourself into a food coma, but otherwise, one such plate can easily serve 1.5 people. The lamb stew is just as big, by the way. After that and the hot chocolate (came to $10.50), I could barely move.
Loved the food - the lamb stew was so good, their hash browns were deliciously crisp (and not as oily as McD's), and their waffles are very well made!
My friend had one complaint though: her strawberry-banana smoothie didn't feel like it was made with real fruits, and was too sweet and a tad artificial in taste.
Marulilu is mostly self-served by the way. You order and pay at the counter, and the servers only bring your food and clear your tables. No frills service, but they make it up with their cheerfulness.
Things that make me want to come back here: amazing value for money, such a huuuuuge menu (it takes me 10 minutes to make up my mind), great food, very cute interiors, and free WiFi.
My first time eating an omu-rice and the taste is unexpectedly good. They have large servings and friendly staff. Would go back in the future.
I was pleasantly surprised at how busy this place is on a sunday. Everyone seemed to be having a good time. . Great location. Cozy vibes. A solid matcha latte. (They don't add sugar to the matcha latte but there are sugar packets on the table.). I'm not sure how I felt about this breakfast sandwich. It didn't have much flavors going on for it. Although the egg was great. Perhaps is because I didn't add any meats to it. Also the Bagel was
Love this place! Friendly Japanese staff, fast food service with great menu selections. It's comparable to Basho on hastings. They have Japanese breakfast and lunch with nice dessert selections (mainly cheesecake). Bf absolutely loved the taco rice (cheesey and a bit spicy) and I had the yummy oyako kinoku don (lots of yummy mushrooms added) and both were absolutely delishhh! Also added 4 hash browns (like McDonald's hash brown but not greasy) and London fog & cafe lattes for only 32$!
We finally got to try this place and it did not disappoint! This is a cute family-owned restaurant. The food is delicious and super filling. We both got the omu rice with beef curry and pork cutlet. I also got myself an iced gen matcha tea. The egg was made to perfection - a thin layer with cheese. The curry was perfect - homestyle japanese curry that is not too salty. The pork cutlet was crispy and not oily. We can't wait to come back!
Not very busy for a restaurant on Cambie at 4pm on a Monday. I got to try the Kinoko-Don which was mushroom based and it tasted great. Though it did feel like I would easily be able to make this meal at home. Overall very cute small cafe.
Marulilu Cafe is a tiny restaurant located on Broadway. It might even be an understatement when I say Marulilu is tiny.
Marulilu's menu is mostly cafe-esque food such as wraps and rice burgers the size of sliders. They also have a super cheap breakfast menu. You can have the Japanese style breakfast, which is super simple and healthy or opt for the traditional American style with sausage and eggs. Other choices include Japanese style omelettes and a variety of sandwiches.
The food is simply and straightforward - don't expect to be wowed. Service is self served.
What a cool place to hang out. I'm so glad I came here. This is my first full-on Japanese cafe and even the western food tastes "Japanese" here. What I mean is that there is a certain care to the food... for example, my breakfast sausages tasted juicier and my egg yolk looked more yellow and well-handled. I thought it'd be a crappy Denny's version of breakfast but NOPE - They have a Ph.D. in this stuff. It's great :). I was so full but I ordered some random breakfast and I'm so glad I did. This place rocks and deserves every bit of your attention.
Had the omu rice which was really unique and delicious. It was breakfast comfort food. Also tried their lavender latte which was nothing special, but on the whole, a great little place definitely worth trying.
This restaurant is super cozy… don’t be surprised if you have to share your table with other diners (they put up tiny table dividers to give you the illusion of privacy). Once you peruse their menu, you go up to the counter to order your meal and they bring it out to you when it’s ready.
The Strawberry Mango Smoothie tasted mainly of strawberry and was super thick. I feel like they needed to use a thicker straw because I kept getting pieces of strawberry stuck in the straw.
A relaxing sunday. Went to this cafe on a Sunday. Was super chill, had nice jazz playing, and the people working at the shop were really friendly. The girlfriend and I shared a curry dish, which hit the spot, and the Japanese breakfast, even more of a tofu lover now. We also shared a pot of green tea and struck up a conversation with one of the stores patrons. If you are looking for a good environment to eat at and get a good deal, give marulilu a go.
Great Brunch. Awesome menu with great prices. These girls know how to do a classic breakfast. Sausage was delicious, eggs done perfectly, delicious hash brown patties and a waffle with whipped cream and chocolate whipped cream on the side. Too much food to handle.
Great find! Amazing value and food.. This is a fantastic little café with delicious, authentic Japanese food as well as western breakfast dishes. The quality of the food is exceptional yet the prices are shockingly low. This is by far the best value restaurant I have found in Vancouver. Its usually pretty busy if you go during peak breakfast or lunch hours and seating is limited. After having lived in Japan for years it is nice to find a place in Vancouver that serves real Japanese dishes! First authentic Japanese café I have been able to find in Vancouver. Highly recommend!
Great place to catch up with. Great atmosphere but having to try the okonomiyaki and takoyaki, it was a little disappointing. The drinks are made well for the price and the shop itself overall has an amazing ambience. Will definitely go back, just not for the okonomiyaki or takoyaki.
This is a tiny cozy Japanese cafe that offers a variety of Japanese authentic dishes as well as Canadian dishes. I had the katsu sandwich which is awesome with 2 kinds of sauce. The beef and barley soup also has the homey feel. My meal is reasonably priced within $10. There are many other dishes that I would like to try. I would definitely return!
I love this cute cafe! I tried the salmon eggs benny with 1 hash and it was awesome. One of the eggs was slightly overcooked for a benny but the other one was perfect.
Staff are polite and attentive, plus they offer free wifi! Its a small place so try to keep parties to 4 or less to ensure everyone is sitting comfortably.
Serves traditional Japanese breakfast. Enjoyed their traditional Japanese breakfast complete with salmon, rice, fermented beans (warning: not for everyone). Such a cute cafe and great price for your typical bacon n eggs breakfast too.
Quaint-essential. A quaint-looking cafe that has good food.
I hit my head on their mini grandfather-clock, however, because it was hung four feet off the ground, and I had bent over to put something down behind my chair. I could also see that it had battle-damage from past head-knockings.
Their style is semi-self-serve, as they seat you and give you the menu, but you have to go up to the counter to order and to pay. They then bring you your food and take away the empty dishes. The only problem with this is... that most people don't put a tip into their tip jar at the cash. They're losing out on a lot of money by not fully waiting the tables!
All-in-all, good food and a cute little cafe.
This is totally a hidden gem on Cambie Street!! This place is very casual, and operates by a Japanese couple We went there around 1ish, and this place is very packed It should be fairly popular in this neighbor...
Greetings Friends! My spring break just started and I finally got a chance go try out Marulilu Cafe with my friend anG. We also stopped by Soft Peaks because I've been interested in giving it a shot for a while. (I did make plans to go on their soft opening but it didn't work out.) Marulilu Cafe is located near the intersection of Cambie and Broadway. I've passed by everyday on my way to school, and I used to pass by on my way to work too many years ago so this place is familiar to me. Their sign was broken at one point too. It is more home-style than it appears to be on the front, and when if you want to order, you go up to the counter and pay up front. The employees are all extremely polite and pleasant. The menu actually has so much choice but I went with the item that first caught my attention. Garlic Omurice with Creamy Mushroom Tomato Sauce (vegetarian) - 10.99$ This was so delicious, I ate every single grain of rice left on the plate. This isn't garlic fried rice, but the rice still tastes like garlic. The portion is quite large, and comes with spring mix on the side. The tomato sauce went perfectly with the rice and it tasted heavenly. 10/10 would come here for this again. 1 Rice Burger w/ Miso Soup - $5.99 anG ordered this dish and said that the rice burger was extremely hot but was also extremely delicious. Comes with spring mix and miso soup (anG also enjoyed the miso soup a lot). I'll definitely be back to Marulilu because it's in a pretty convenient location for me and the food was absolutely delicious. Next up on our adventure list was Soft Peaks in Gastown. I actually took a weird route to this place and ended up walking on East Hastings for a good 15 minutes before I realized I got the wrong address. (Sorry anG!) Soft Peaks is nestled in the heart of Gastown and the inside of the store was so humid and stuffy that it fogged up my camera lens. I ordered the regular Green Forest, and anG ordered a Sunrise in California. There was quite a lot of cu
The place is tiny and operates kind of like a food court style. You’ll be seated with the menus and then when you are ready, you go up to the counter to order and pay first. When the food is ready, they will bring it to your table. During weekends, the place fills up quickly but they don’t take reservations.
This place is very small and very authentic. I don’t know of any other places that does this style of breakfast.
Broadway station is one of the more popular Canada Line stations but it's surprising to know that not that many people know about Marulilu Cafe which nearly faces the station. Marulilu is a small Japanese brunch and tea time oriented cafe which only caters to roughly 10 people per sitting. Despite this, it makes the dining experience very cozy - something my friend and I were looking forward to. eggs benny with hashbrown We weren't too hungry so we only ordered a plate each - one Eggs Benny and a set of Rice Burgers. My friend's egg benedict ($6.99) came with two halves of an English muffin topped with ham, a runny egg and a lovely hollandaise sauce with a side of hashbrowns and vegetables. It was a small portion but with a satisfying level of flavour and savoury-ness. butakimuchi rice burger rice burger set I ordered something a bit different, the rice burger set ($9.99) which came with two different flavours and miso soup with a bit of salad on the side. Excited to try this interesti
This might just be my new favourite place hehe! I can't believe I didn't try it sooner! I brought along my mom and she was super excited after I told her about the menu! Marulilu is a cute little japanese cafe located right across from Broadway-City Hall Station so it's super convenient! They serve brunch, traditional japanese breakfasts, savoury snacks, coffee, even dessert!! Their menu is decorated with Rilakuma cartoons (scroll to bottom for a pic) which I thought was so quirky and cute! I actually brought my Rilakuma purse with me and the waitress said that she absolutely loved my purse LOL and I replied "Ikr, so kawaii!!" and she repeated back in Japanese "totemo kawaii!!" LOL!! Kimchi, and Sukiyaki Burger $11.99 My mom's ratings: Kimchi: 4/5 stars Sukiyaki: 3.5/5 stars This was my mom's first time eating a rice burger and she thought it was awesome! She particularly enjoyed the kimchi, which was a delicious blend of spicy and savoury flavours! There was even some thin slices of pork in there! The sukiyaki was great as well, moist slices of flavourful beef paired with strands of vermicelli! Salad 3.5/5 stars This salad dressing was delish! It's a sesame based dressing so it has a lovely nutty flavour that's a great compliment to the freshness of the salad! Omurice w/ Hayashi Beef 3.5/5 stars This was so yummy!! The sauce was thick and creamy, and full of flavour! The beef slices were tender, packed with beefy flavour! The egg on top of the omurice was actually seasoned so it wasn't plain! They used plain rice instead of fried rice in the omurice which I actually prefer because it didn't overpower the over flavours of the dish! Loved how neatly arranged the salad was! :D Miso Soup 4/5 stars My mom's combo also came with a side of miso soup! This one was really solid, we both loved how it was super flavourful without bei
As promised, I finally got around to bringing Grayson over to Marulilu cafe for tea time on a sunny Sunday. Since it was tea time, I decided to get a lavender latte. I haven’t had a latte in a while so I just had to get one plus, I’ve seen lavender lattes all over the place this year and figured that I should finally try one. The latte had a good layer of foam on top and had a lovely lavender aroma to it.
I decided to order the Japanese breakfast set ($6.99) for brunch and it was yummlicious! It came with an omelette, salmon, miso soup, rice and a choice of tofu or natto. I don’t think I’ve had so many variations of protein at once but I liked it so much that I almost didn’t mind the lack of veggies. The egg was cooked perfectly and was still moist on the inside and the same goes for the salmon. The tofu was served
marulilu cafe is a tiny shop on west broadway that is known for the breakfast offerings (both western and japanese) as well as many specialty japanese specialties such as rice burgers, oyako dons and omu rice. my two best friends and i made a visit down here one day and tried out some of their low priced but delicious offerings! eggs benny without hash browns ($6.49): they did not have any ham that day so we went with bacon. the hollandaise was quite good and eggs were cooked well! a very simple and not too greasy rendition 3.85/5 katsudon ($7.99): deep friend pork chop over rice with onion and egg. this was pretty good although there could have been more sauce to go with the rice. the pork cutlet was not too chewy though! 3.85/5 breakfast plate A ($5.99): two eggs any style, choice of sausage, ham or bacon, toast, hash browns and tomatoes. this was a pretty good deal although all the food is very generic tasting. it isn't too greasy and was plenty to fill the three of us up 3.5/5 takoyaki ($3.99): octopus balls!! i love these and 6 pieces for 4 bucks was a great deal! these were fresh out of the…machine? but I'm not sure if they were homemade. still very enjoyable! 4/5
Lil’ L got the $5 breakfast. It’s not a bad sized portion for what you pay, and L said it was pretty solid too! That’s a win in her books, I suppose. If you got something of this caliber at, say IHOP, you’d probably pay twice to three times as much. On a previous outing with L, we went to a Japanese cafe and they had some seriously good desserts! I figured that since this was a cafe as well, I’d try out their Tiramisu ($5.50). It was pretty creamy and all, but the coffee taste could be stronger, and I’m sure this wasn’t made there (lost a brownie point from me!).

I really couldn't decide what to order, since I wanted to try a few things, but the Japanese style breakfast ($6.99) was always something I've wanted to try. Plus, I'm a sucker for "organized" trays of food with lots of variety, so this suited me. I felt everything was quite bland though, they did have soy sauce, but I ended up just dipping everything into my miso soup =P
It locates at the opposite of Broadway Canada Line Station. Somehow, its entrance and sign attract me every time I pass by it. Inside is very cosy and feel very different from the busy atmosphere outside. …The food quality is a bit under average…but I really love sitting inside enjoying a cup of tea.
Hi everyone! After working out at the gym, my friend and I decided to go for brunch at a very recent popular Japanese brunch spot on Broadway and Cambie called Marulilu Café. It's a very small and tight restaurant so it's best to go early for a guaranteed spot. I've stopped by there a few times previously with Phil and we had no luck finding a table. Surprisingly when I got there with my friend, we were lucky enough to find an empty table. We went on a cold cold day, and OH MY, I was sweating in the restaurant like crazy. They had no air circulation whatsoever and I feel like I was going to die from suffocation. Anyhow, I survived, BUT I really wish the air flow would be a lot better. It was so stuffy and hot in there, and their fans were no help at all. I recommend saving your seat before ordering. Their ordering system is at their counter, so you have to go there to order your food. Now for drinks, my friend ordered the Caramel Latte $3.80 , according to her, she thought it was amazing!!!
I absolutely adore this cozy little brunch cafe. With our conflicting work schedule, this has been an overdue brunch date with Panda. We both woke up early and started our day with some food. It is my first time dining at this restaurant and it is definitely a great recommendation from Panda. To my surprise, it is actually a Japanese-style brunch/lunch restaurant. It attracts many locals and Japanese families.
We both ordered the same thing – Japanese Breakfast ($6.99), except mine had tofu while he had natto (soybeans fermented with Bacillus subtilis var. natto, yum!), or as I like to call it, “that slimy stuff.” The breakfast was very very very simple, as it should be. I appreciated the “plainness” of the omelette and grilled salmon. I’m not saying it was bland, rather it wasn’t seasoned heavily.
Japanese Style Breakfast- $6.99-Quite basic and an incredibly healthy breakfast option. You really can’t go wrong with rice, tofu, omelette, grilled salmon and miso soup. My favourite of the bunch has to be the miso soup, one that I found to be flavourful without the chalky instant mix consistency and residue left on the tongue.
I really loved the texture of Jello in my drink but I would not recommend it unless you feel adventurous with your coffee
I thought the Marulilu Cafe was a sweet little spot to grab a bite. It’s kind of down-home Japanese and kind of breakfast-y. The quality of the ingredients is very good and they do take care with the preparation of the dishes
Cafe Marulilu has been on my wish list of places to go after WorkingGirl kept pushing me to try it out. One day after work, DJSpock and I spotted the Cafe just across the street from the Town Hall Skytrain on Broadway and Cambie. It was this small tiny wh

They have a really large menu that offers both Japanese and western style breakfast and lunches.
When we learned about Marulilu Cafe, across the street from the Broadway-City Hall SkyTrain station, we knew we had to pay a visit.
Not long ago, Marulilu has been so popular among us foodies. But it was long before then that I started noticing it... From inside-out and outside-in, Marulilu convey a simple, relaxing, and laid-back-cafe type of atmostphere. Yet the more simple it is, t
Nelson @ Vancouver: A leisurely breakfast is a sure sign that I'm on vacation. Diana once again suggested this place and since I've never had a Japanese style breakfast before, we checked it out. Appropriately, I had the "Japanese Style Breakfast" (grilled salmon, plain omelet, rice, miso soup, tofu). Honestly it wasn't anything too special and although it had a lot of variety nothing was unusual. My favourite was actually the tofu, but it wasn't even the freshest I've had before. The omelet and salmon were plain, but were still enjoyable. A very simple meal. Kitty had the Eggs Benny with smoked salmon. The salmon itself was quite salty, but the Hollandaise sauce was light. So a little overpowering taste from the fish, but presented very nicely. So now I know what people in Japan eat for breakfast. Light and simple, which is contrasts an American style breakfast. Perhaps that's also why Americans are so obese when compared to the Japanese people.
Probably the first Japanese run coffee shop in Vancouver. As I work around the neighborhood, I already noticed Marulilu Cafe when it was first opened few months ago. I finally went to try it out last long weekend. I had no idea why the "lilu" were not the
