Hot a fancy place by any means, but really tasty combo dinners and love the wonton soup! Great value for what you get. Very super friendly owner and servers. Been going there for over 10 years.... Never disappointed and very consistent quality.

This is a Vietnamese shop located on Main Street, near King Edward Ave. In addition to popular dishes that you'd find at most places (lemongrass chicken, pho etc), they do also have some more less common dishes like stuffed chicken, seafood, and hot pot pilaf. I've tried their Chicken Grand-Mere Farcie and one of their dinner combos. The food was quite tasty; I absolutely loved their fried foods like Vietnamese roll dip (which is actually a spring roll) and Prawns Imperial (another type of spring roll). The staff are also friendly and greet customers as 'brother' or 'sister', and the prices are quite reasonable. This is definitely a place that's worth checking out.

Chicken Grand-Mere Farcie ($11.99):
3.5/5
This was chicken that has been stuffed with mushroom, ground pork, and onions, and is served with rice and salad. The chicken was a tad overcharred and a bit on the underseasoned side, but still tender and tasty, with a great fragrance from the mushrooms. I did also quite enjoy the salad, which was nicely dressed and had a sweet/tangy flavour.

Combination D ($13.99):
4/5
This came with pork brochette, Vietnamese roll dip, Vietnamese steamed crepes, prawns imperial, and rice vermicelli. It is served with vinegar, some sweet/sour dip for the spring rolls, and also peanut sauce at your request (which I strongly recommend getting, unless if you're allergic to peanuts of course). I loved the roll dip and pranws imperial, both of which are similar to spring rolls, and are very fresh, hot, crispy and full of fillings. The pork brochette was quite tender and had a nice charred flavour. The steamed crepes are similar to rice rolls, and contain ground pork inside; I did find it to be a tad bland on its own, but it was very good with the peanut sauce.

Summary:
Food: 4/5
Price: 4/5
Service: 4/5
Recommendations: Vietnamese Roll Dip, Prawns Imperial

Owners were super nice and friendly. Food was really good and pretty authentic. I had the pho and the soup was rich and the meat was soft and tender. Overall the price is super cheap for a comfortable meal.

Location: 25 Brentwood bus to Main Street

Ambience : very very welcoming servers

Food: Though Vietnamese place , they do have delicious veggie options ! I love their Sweet n sour soup (my fav), veggie fried noodles, spring roll ! Whenever I go to this place , I order all of the above food items along with a chilled glass of coconut water ! And end up overeating as the food is too good !

Price is reasonable.

*Also try the Pho on the menu (😉)

Vietnamese restaurants are not normally known for their great service. Cambie Vietnamese, sometimes known as Vancouver Vietnamese or just Vietnamese, is a noted exception. Owner Brian has got to be one of the happiest people on Earth and that's why the DotComPho.com crew call this place home. We affectionately refer to it as Happy Pho. The food is decent enough and your large bowl of pho comes with free noodle refills.

Delicious inexpensive food for meatatarians and vegetarians alike. There are lots of good Vietnamese places in Vancouver but this one is my favorite. I love the owners, they are such nice friendly people. Also the food is delicious!! This place has the best vegetarian Vietnamese food taste and selection out of anywhere I've tried in the city. They have vegetarian pho, curry and lots of other tasty items, for really good prices. For 2 people you could have dinner for like 20-25 bucks, and take leftovers home. The non vegetarian dishes are also much loved by my partner and friends. The atmosphere is very casual, kind of like a little hole in the wall type place, don't expect much in that department, just go for the good cheap food. I eat there or get take out at least once a month :)

I love this restaurant. It's always one of the first few places that is on top of my mind when I'm craving pho. The food is good but more importantly, the service is awesome! The wife and husband team is great they really make a difference in your dining out experience. Thanks!

I am from Toronto and now living in Vancouver and I have spent extensive periods of time in Asia (and even gone to Vietnam twice), this is by far the best pho I have ever had. Having traveled and lived in major, cultural cities with large Asian populations I have eaten at a lot of different Asian restaurants and I'm impressed. This is my new "go to" place. The spring rolls are amazing and nearly rival the best ones I ever had in Vang Vieng, Laos. And the service is also tremendous.

You're welcome, my pho-ther. I had to start my review of the Cambie Vietnamese Restaurant with a play on words based on the owner's standard greeting of "Hello, my brother!" I think that's a wonderful thing to say. The owner is apparently well-known for this. When I was speaking to the pastor at the nearby church where I have a community garden plot and I told him I was going to eat lunch here, the pastor immediately replied "Hello, my brother!" But some people don't like that, or how the guy used to welcome people by saying "Hello, my friend"? What a bunch of sour-pusses! A person who is going to serve you food says something friendly as soon as a customer walks in the door, and it rubs folks the wrong way? Wow, just wow...

Cambie Vietnamese Restaurant isn't anything fancy. It's a Vietnamese version of the neighbourhood Chinese restaurants that are in every restaurant strip. I thought the pho was decent -- broth not too salty or filled with MSG, taste perked up with the addition of some red pepper oil and fish sauce. The bean sprouts and Thai basil that came with it were fresh. It would have had more flavour if I had ordered the raw beef instead of cooked. My taste buds got cold feet at the last minute. I've had pho with more meat, but the portion was adequate. At $8.99 for a large bowl with a deep-fried dipping roll, I thought it was OK value for money. The roll, with shredded meat (pork?) and diced cabbage, was tasty, crispy but oily on the outside. I don't mind some grease if there's good crunch.

This joint isn't fancy, but it's a good neighbourhood stop. It's the kind of place where you'll find a table of old French-speaking women -- Viet and Caucasian -- sitting next to a booth of tattooed hipsters talking about the designs they've got inked on their arms. I wouldn't drive across town to go here, but if you're hungry and on Main Street, it's worth a try.

Unless you're an antisocial person who gets offended at being called "my brother." What's the name of the place downtown where the staff insults you? Go there instead.

"Hello My Friend!". We go here because of the service! They are friendly, accomodating and serve up delicious soup and rice dishes. The soup is always hot! I recommend the prawn imperial roll!

I first started going to the Cambie Vietnamese Restaurant for pho when it was still actually located on Cambie Street, in a strip mall just before King Edward Avenue (I lived in a house only a couple of blocks away at the time). They had to move to a new

The proprietor, Brian, really makes it the happiest pho on Earth. Maybe that’s why this was one of the larger gatherings we’ve had too with a total of 15 attendees!
