I am from Finland and we make a traditional Finnish ham for Christmas.
I had called multiple butchers throughout the week and decided to visit some today in hopes to find a ham.
This was my third and final stop in the quest for the perfect ham, and this butcher did not disappoint.
He and his team were extremely customer centric and helpful and he answered my prayers with the perfect size ham for me and my family.

We've just arrived in Kerrisdale / arbutus neighbourhood and we decided to go to this butchery. We're french and we didn't know the exact names of pieces we wanted (hampe, onglet, bavette d'Aloyau) but the staff were very helpful and patient with us. It's definitely gonna be our go to butchery from now on!

Highest quality at the best prices! These guys are great, very knowledgable and friendly. I just bought a huge cowboy steak cured in Koji, an experiment one of the guys was trying out for fun on some beef they brought in to test from a ranch in Kamloops. They also have cool additional products like potatoes and onions just in case you need some essentials, some amazing frozen handmade wontons from Dumpling King, Bintang charcoal, Nonny non-alc beers, and always rotating through cool products. 6 stars out of 5

My favourite butcher in Vancouver. They even do sandwiches. Great meat quality and the best eggs ever. Loads of other unique items you might enjoy! Sausages are very good as well. For the summer they also make burgers that are very good.

Over the holidays I was asked if I’ve ever eaten Pete’s Meat. After a brief awkward pause… I exclaimed I had not. Well let me tell you Googlers a little something something. I finally purchased some meat from Pete’s… and it was funking amazing!!!

This butcher shop has a cool vibe, and they have so many selections of meat. I'm surprised that they have fresh lamb lol. The worker(maybe the owner) is very kind and generous. I bought some ground lamb, also asked for some lamb fat for my kebab, then the other worker patiently trimmed 2 big good pieces for me for free. Will definitely come back!

Bought chicken wings on friday oct 20 for dinner that night, all I can say is these are not chicken wings there turkey wings. They are big and meaty ,not like your usual chicken wings you buy in a store. I wish they would open a second store in tsawwassen because it would be easier for me to get to than their vancouver store. And one last thing pete and his staff are friendly and helpful

After going to four different butchers, he was the first to tell me that he takes special orders. when looking for breast of lamb it was great to find a butcher to tell you this. On the day I picked up his service still not end he want to make sure I had the butchers string to tie up the lamb. As I was stuffing it with sausage meat. As a result will be going back again for any cuts of meat I may need.

I have always been satisfied with my visits here. The burgers and kabobs are some of the best I've had in this city, and the staff has always been cool. The meat is fresh and of high quality, never medicated or hormone induced as far as I know, and they have a cool selection of specialty items. Half point off for the selection as it could be larger, but then again, if it maintains the level of quality, it works for me.

We almost skipped this place after hearing that the line up was huge (each order was made fresh), but I’m glad we didn’t. For a butcher shop-slash-deli, Pete’s Meat had a nice, genuine vibe. Just like the food, there was nothing pretentious about this place.

I’ve always known this butcher shop existed along Arbutus but never actually went inside to take a look. After my disappointing sandwich from the other week I was determined to find a viable alternative to my usual Subway that was within walking distance of my gym. It just so happens that in addition to being a butcher shop they also make fresh sandwiches. Sold! They’re located on the southwest corner of 12th and Arbutus and are pretty easy to miss unless you’re looking closely for the hanging wood sign. On the left is the sandwich area with a board on the wall listing all the sandwiches. Directly in front and all along the right side you’ll find their various meats in display cases where they’ll cut you a fresh slab of pretty much anything. I decided to wander the shop a bit to see what else they had and they actually had some interesting items I was tempted to buy. They had things like various sauces, oils, rubs, or even random things like Archimallows which the fat man in me really wanted to buy. There’s also a freezer stocked full of some rarer meats such as crocodile, ostrich and kangaroo all of which I tasted last year on my trip to Australia. Interesting stuff! I’ll have to keep them in mind for when summer rolls around and it’s BBQ season.

Sausages. Bought some sausage there a while ago, the ingredients said BACON BACON BACON, and Jack Daniels, among other things. There may have been cured and/or smoked pork belly in the sausage, but no real discernible "Bacon" flavour. I cooked them medium well, but the half and quarter cloves of garlic in the mix were too large to be fully cooked and therefore were still half raw(not very pleasant). The Jack must have been added without having been flamed off, as the bites of sausage let off waves of hot ethyl vapour ( not very plesant). Despite this the store was very clean, and the staff were helpful, knowledgeable and pleasant.

Highly recommended. We shop at Pete's every couple of weeks to stock our freezer. He has a great selection of delicious sausages, some interesting combinations (bisonw/blueberries or truffles, apple pork). My personal fav is the hot Italian, it has heat as the name implies. The quality of the meat itself is outstanding as well. He carries lots of things, spices, pickles, organic eggs, milk in glass bottles, high quality sodas made with cane sugar and he has a sandwich menu. Pete and his staff are always very helpful and friendly. The only place we buy meat these days.

Finally! Delicious meat close to home!. I was so happy to see that we had a new butcher shop in the neighbourhood! Pete is a really helpful guy who is easy to talk to and really eager to help you out. He gives great advice on meat prep and the selection of quality meats in the shop is awesome. The shop is really clean and I will definitely continue to shop there on a regular basis.<br/>The bacon is so delicious and the in-house made sausages are worth trying too! Check it out, you won't be disappointed.

Great Butcher Shop. Noticed this new butcher shop in the hood and had to give it a try. Wow what an amazing butcher shop. Super clean and super rad. The meats were amazing and the butcher Pete was really professional and sure knew his cuts of meat. He gave us great service and we're really impressed with this store. His bacon and sausage was awesome. Had the prime rib and it was hands down the best I've had in the city. Can't wait till its grilling season.

Pete's Butcher Shop and Deli. I live down the street from Pete's and it is the best thing to hit the neighbourhood since I moved here 10 years ago. I have had a variety of different things from ostrich to perogies and I have never been dissapointed. Only impressed. The quality and service, yes service, is outstanding. Nice to know some businesses still care about their customer. Everyone I know in the area has the same opinion and we are determined to keep him around for a long time.
