I stopped here as I was browsing the neighbourhood for a suitable place to have a quick lunch. There was a good variety on the menu for different dietary preferences.
I had the vegetarian minestrone soup and smoked salmon, sun-dried tomato, lettuce sandwich. The food was as very good. The sandwich bread was gently toasted and fluffy. The salmon came in strips as opposed to a mayo blend. So it looked very appetizing. The minestrone was rich with veggies and an interesting but very tasty spice. I noticed an espresso machine and decided to put their specialty coffee to the test by ordering a cappuccino for as my dessert. It was excellent, served in a ceramic mug.
Service was excellent. Very friendly and warm. I also bought a spinach filo twister to take with me. It was wonderful. Very much like my mom makes it, resembling balkan pita and burek in taste and texture. They also had cheese twisters.
The ambiance in casual, with seating along the shop windows and away from the windows.

I've been here a few times and all their sandwiches are amazing! I've had the real crab meat, chicken pesto, roast beef, and smoked salmon sandwiches. They were all fantastic. I think the roast beef is my favourite! Delicious!

The best sandwiches in Gastown! Try vegetarian #7 with eggs on top. Yummy! The owners are really nice people. My #1 place for a lunch time!

DELICIOUS!. I go to Bambo quite often and order the Vegetable Sandwich. It is to DIE for! A little on the pricey side however the size of the sandwich is HUGE! Definitely worth every penny!

Great Spot for Simple Food. Great Spot!

The couple - who I believe to be the owners of the cafe - are super nice and very friendly!

Food is simple, delicious, and comforting.

If you want something just slightly fancier, there's Brioche right next door, which I'm also a big fan. Bambo Cafe is a little easier on your wallet.

My own complaint would be that if it's busy, you might have to wait a bit and there's nowhere really to wait. It can get quite cramped inside the little place.

In the end, it's worth it!

Gastown NomNoms. I work just a heartbeat away from this cozy little casual cafe, and what an advantage that is!

I normally have the chicken sandwich or the roast beef. The veggie is amazing as well, if you're not much of a carnivore. Their house soup is normally the lentil, along with varying daily soup specials (tomato spinach=YUM!).

Nice atmosphere (love the eclectic assortment of doo-dads pinned to their warm red walls), and there is the option of sitting outside on a sunny day (few and far between in Van, I know).

Often, a restaurant with bad service will make it to my Never-Come-Back list, even if they offer really good eats. There is no concern at Bambo, because I love how consistently kind their staff are.

Delicious & very filling. Best sandwiches in Vancouver, hands down! The omelets are delicious as well. Taking the great quality in consideration and compared to other cafes in Gastown, the prices are quite low, so that's an added bonus. I highly recommend this spot if you're around Cambie & Cordova.

Favorite Sandwich - yumyumyum!. I came here for a quick lunch with a friend and we both had one of their amazing sandwiches. I had the veggie sandwich (avacado, roasted mushrooms and spinach) which is served on some delicious foccacia bread. The sandwich was served nice and warm and every bite was so full of flavour! I must say, this is the best sandwich I've had in Vancouver. It is a little bit on the pricey side ($7.25 before tax) for a casual/take-out place but the portion is very generous; I actually had to take half of it home so they nicely gave me a cute take-out box to put my sandwich in. My friend had the tuna melt which she enjoyed very much as well. In total, they have nine varieties of sandwiches, including veggie, seafood and meat options. They also have daily specials listed on a board outside which basically have reduced prices (25-50cents) for items that are regularly on the menu. I saw a nice fruit smoothie on special but was too full to try it, but they really have quite a large selection of drinks (coffee, juice, smoothies and a banana milkshake!) If you bring your own mug, you even get 15 cents off (I love this green initiative)! This is a great place for a quick and delicious lunch or even a relaxed one because you'll definitely want to enjoy the great food!

I took my coffee and pulled up a seat by the window where I could listen to the rhythmic chopping and sizzling while reading The Daily and sipping coffee. All of the hard work definitely paid off in the omelette. You could just tell that it was fresh made as the peppers had a nice vibrant flavor and crunch, the onions just slightly browned, and the egg whites even had that little brown on them just like mine at home.
