Tea was hot ,loved loved the scones everything was perfect enjoyed my mother's day treat will be back soon
This is a lovely tea house that I've been to many times with my girlfriends. The high tea experience is quite lovely. Everything happens at an old school pace here, as high tea should so if you're expecting the hustle and bustle with your tea...maybe go somewhere else.
I stopped in here for lunch the other day before an appointment and the staff were very accomidating to me despite being fully booked. They had a a table for 45 minutes and gave it to me
I had clam chowder followed by a turkey sandwhich. For tea I had a delightful roiboos with honey.
Clam chowder was really nice and simple. Good portion size. I could have missed the sandwhich as i couldn't finish it. The soup was sufficient!!
I wasn't the hugest fan of the turkey sandwhich. You can tell they use good ingredients but they need to work on the flavours pallet of the sandwhich. It was a touch dry.
The cranberry scone however was wonderfully made!
Thankfully I've been here before and had many great experiences hence 4 stars.
If you're looking for a ladies lunch high tea or a cute outing to take your daughter to this is the place to be.
We ordered for 4 people. The tea was lovely but the food was bland and nothing special. I wish we had gone to Secret Garden down the street. It was very very expensive but I suppose it's partially for the experience.
Great place for a traditional high tea experience. Favorites include soups, savory and sweet crepes, scones, and the tea sets. Decadent. Also noticed many older ladies come in to eat alone with a book.
Always great for afternoon relaxation and tea. I adore the scones here - they are always warm and flavourful. The desserts/petit fours aren't too special but the shop is sweet and well decorated in a Victorian England-esque fashion... Optimal for a catch up with girlfriends
hooray for afternoon tea again! I made reservations for Adonia about a week in advance for a Saturday afternoon and I’m so glad I did! this place was packed when we arrived. I was very amazed by the interior of this tea house. It was vintage themed and looked like an old doll house(not a creepy one). I do have to say though, this tea house was extremely small. We were seated at a table to the side that was the size of a side table that sits next to your bed. It was a tad unconformable and cramped to be honest, but I guess it didn’t bother us very much since the place was very cute.
Great service, so-so food. Went to Adonia tea house for a little get-together time with my 3 girlfriends. This little tea room is very vintage-styled. The whole tea room probably had only about 6-7 tables. All four of us ordered the Afternoon Tea ($27) which came with a wide variety of sweet and savory items and a tea of your choice. I chose the cream earl grey because from past experience, fruity teas are always a disappointment. When the food came, we were surprised to find out that all the items on the tiered plates were not all that we were getting. Scones later arrived on a separate plate, as well as another plate of pudding midway into our tea time. I was debating whether to order more food at the very beginning because it seemed like the Afternoon tea set would not satisfy my hungry stomach, but surprisingly it was very filling. Service was great as the servers kept coming to our table to refill water into our teapots, but our server was not very knowledgeable in the tea selection because she said she never tried any of them when we asked if a certain tea tastes good. In terms of tastiness, when asked what was my favourite item, I could not decide... maybe because nothing in particular stood out. Overall we decided the food was not incredibly tasty, but was not that bad either. Although they did provide a wide variety of pastries and desserts for us to try, we concluded that it would be better if they gave us all the same items as we found it hard to split or decide who gets which pastry. This tea house was a great catch-up spot and fairly inexpensive compared to other places, but food can be improved
Hosted a bridal shower at Adonia for my girlfriend. I've been to Adonia for high tea once and fell in love with his place so I thought it'll be a nice experience and location to lost her Bridal shower.
At first when I booked the table, I booked it one month in advance for 14 people. Little do I know some people ended up cancelling or not coming to the event and it was very last minute notice on my end. I called the restaurant a few days earlier to change my reservation and down size the party.
The food was amazing and the tea selection was great. However I was not impressed with one of their waitress' service; it was an older lady. We asked politely if we could have our pictures taken, but was turned down rudely. I know they were busy as the restaurant was full, but at least the tone and the attitude could have been nicer. The other younger waitress was more pleasant and had a better attitude. One of my friend even heard some bad mouthing behind the counter about our table.
Overall I was not pleased and was quite disappointed.
Absolutely excellent high tea! Great atmosphere and pliant staff! Can't wait to come back!!!!
Nice tea. Have gone here a couple of times to have either the mini-tea or share the high tea. The little sandwiches are yummy, as are the scones and desserts, and there is a very nice selection of teas. The room is quite quiet and on the fussy old fashioned side (compared to the much more modern look of Faubourg) and the service is a little odd - in an ironic twist the room looks like a British grandmother's sitting room, but the staff doesn't seem to speak English - there are also strange gaps in the service where a cluster of the staff seem to stand together behind the counter ignoring the guests. I don't mind this as I just want to nibble, sip and chat with my friends and Adonia is certainly a pleasant place to do that.
Quaint and indulgent. I went here with a large group friends and found them very accommodating, and tried their best to make our visit as comfortable as possible within their tiny establishment. It's great also that they also don't restrict the menu to just afternoon tea.
I ordered the mini afternoon tea, which includes 3 pieces of savory finger sandwiches and 3 pieces of desserts. Their egg salad mini scone is very good, and I particularly like their fruit tart, which was just the right amount of sweetness. As for their tea, I tried the passion fruit & mango green tea and the latte macchiato tea, both of which were very indulging.
I would definitely return to try the full afternoon tea set.
Ladies's High Tea. Adonia is definitely a fun, little place for ladies to gather and chat =) their afternoon tea portions are more than enough to fill you up and I think even a guy should be reasonably satisfied with the amount of food they provide. Call for reservations just in case they are busy, as the place is quite small!
It felt kind of funny going to a tea house for lunch, but we wanted to try someplace new and there are very few restaurants within walking distance that we hadn't tried. The decor is what you'd expect, English with floral wallpaper, pleasant paintings, lamps at each table, etc. Our servers were very polite, and except for a little wait at the end (the place was full), service was excellent. Our sandwiches and salad were very good, and of course our teas were as well. A nice touch was the complimentary cookies we got at the end of the meal.
Pleasant Afternoon Tea. Many places in Vancouver serve afternoon tea. I haven't been to most, but I really like Adonia Kerrisdale Tea House located @ 2057 West 41st Avenue in Kits. The staff is friendly and they do all the little things (quaint decor, fine china, fancy music) that women people have come to expect.
Slowing time down with pinkies up. Enjoying rose petals, doilies, and silver spoons. Getting off work at 3pm and being too early for dinner means you get to enjoy high tea. There is something whimsical about dining in a space that is an over the top girly, meant to make you feel like a princess. The shoppe was themed in a vintage pretty. And made to feel like you are walking into a doll house or the home of your peculiar great aunt. The space is lined wall to wall with a floral wallpaper, printed in pink pedals and green leaves. A large pale green shelf lines the wall. It is home to over 80 or so varieties of loose leaf teas. A few of the more popular requests get individually bagged up for an easy take home-ability. On this shelf is also an offering of what looks to be two different varieties of lip balms. A glass and mirrored cabinet safety displays ornately decorated teacups and saucers. They are a similar style to the one on display in the showcases, above the serving counter.
Adonia Tea House is so classy looking, I love the atmosphere in there, however, I do find it hard to move around because the place is very small. I made reservations the day before, and thankfully I did because by the time we got there, a group of people came in asking for afternoon tea and Adonia was fully booked. The Inside is just as beautiful as the outside, if not more. Nicely decorated with teas on the side selves, and you can see the chef preparing the food! We were greeted immediately after entering Adonia, and we were seated near the door. The tables were very small, it literally can only fit the food and the plates/cups. We ordered 3 of the Afternoon Tea at 27/ person. I forgot the exact name (should have taken a picture…) but I believe, starting from the left, it is Pink-Grapefruit Organic, Apple, and I forgot the last one. The grapefruit one was mine, and I thought it was rather bland. It did not taste like grapef
Once while we were heading to Gem Chocolate , we passed by Adonia and was immediately attracted by its furnishings. However, we were hesitated to try until recently. What makes me hesitate? Adonia only got 71% on urbanspoon but Secret Garden got 80%…what?! We think Secret Garden ‘s food is awful and it’s still better than Adonia ?...To conclude, Adonia‘s quality really brought us pleasant surprises.
I was very worried because it only got 71% on urbanspoon but now I am very confused why it only got 71%? Why Secret Garden has a better grade??
It’s pretty rare that I love almost everything from the tea set since I think most afternoon tea set are a bit over priced and overly sweet.
However, Adonia doesn’t have those “features”.
$27 per person is an average price for afternoon tea but everything included is lovely and delicious and in addition to the three tier stand, it also has a plate of scones and sweets.
I just love it!

I got the Mini Afternoon Tea. This was for $18 and included your choice of tea, so an average price for high tea. They also offer just an afternoon tea, which is their deluxe version and I’m guessing includes much more. That one, however, is $27.
since indulge living was selling vouchers for adonia full set high tea for half the price (CAN$12 instead of the usual CAN$25), so many of us from VCB decided to get it. we were planning to go there together but since adonia high tea is so small and there
I was craving some afternoon tea last weekend, so we decided to try Adonia Tea House in Kerrisdale. How does this spot compare to others? Well, when we arrived we immediately found out...
